Abstract

The article discusses the existence of Islamic Psychology amid Western civilization and Eastern civilization (Islam). Where Western Civilization lays the foundation of logical and rational thinking. While on the other hand, Eastern civilization and Islam, prioritize ethics and morals based on normative mindset. Furthermore, there are various contemporary issues of civilization that emerge as evidence of the development of patterns of life, related to the dynamic social changes of today, among others: artificial intelligence, education reform, and digital literacy. Further research is carried out using quantitative approaches. The population in this study were students in four faculties at Imam Bonjol Padang State Islamic University (Faculty of Ushuluddin and Religious Studies, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Faculty of Da'wah, and Faculty of Sharia), which is as many as 1658 students, using the formula Slovin then, obtained a sample of 322 students. Sample withdrawal is done randomly simply. Data collection is conducted using a scale of psychology, observation, and interviews. The results of this study found a relationship between students' perceptions and their interest in the issues of contemporary civilization. This is shown through r2= 0.875**.

Abstract

Learning in Indonesia does not encourage learners to think critically. Based on the results of the study states that learning in school has not been able to cultivate critical thinking skills in learners because learning still tends to be teacher-centered. The critical thinking skills of learners in the schools studied are still relatively low. Research from various researchers has previously stated that guided inquiry models can improve the ability of critical thinking pills. The purpose of this study is to find out if there is an influence on the critical thinking skills of learners who apply LKPD based on the guided inquiry learning model based on PhET Simulation compared to applying conventional PhET-assisted learning models only. This research is a pseudo-experiment using the Design Counter Balance. Data capture using the t-test. The results of the implementation of LKPD based on the PhET-assisted inquiry model show that there is an influence on the critical thinking skills of learners rather than conventional models with PhET.Keywords: LKPD, Guided Inquiry, PhET Simulation, and Critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to develop a physics electronic module using the Trait Treatment Interaction (TTI) model based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to improve students' ability to Construct Explanations and Design Solutions (CEDs) and to test its effectiveness on the topic of Environmental Pollution for grade X SMA/MA. The study uses a Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The Define stage includes front-end, student, task, and concept analysis, while the Design stage involves preparing instruments and selecting media. The Develop stage consists of validation by content, media, and language experts, followed by product trials with educators and students, and the Disseminate stage focuses on distributing the effective product. The research subjects were 34 students of class X.I MAN 2 Pesisir Selatan. The findings show that the developed e-module is of very high quality and highly valid, with an average score of 89.24% from expert validators, while its practicality level reached 88.97% based on evaluations from educators and students. The e-module also proved very effective in improving students’ CEDs abilities, indicated by an average test score of 90%. High-ability students (faster learners) experienced significant improvement through self-learning, whereas low-ability students (slower learners) benefited more from regular teaching accompanied by additional tutorials. Based on these results, it is recommended that the e-module be further developed for other physics topics, and future researchers are encouraged to optimize time efficiency to ensure a smoother learning process without disrupting the predetermined duration.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of public perception on the acceptance of Sharia Pawnbroking (Gadai Syariah) services in Padang City, Indonesia. Utilizing a quantitative research design, the study employed a survey method on a sample of 128 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results indicated that while the majority of the community held a positive perception (70.31%) towards Sharia Pawnbroking, the actual level of service acceptance remained low, with 60.94% categorized as low acceptance. However, a strong, positive, and significant relationship was found between perception and acceptance (r ≈ 0.55–0.65; p < 0.05) , with perception significantly influencing acceptance (sig < 0.05). The finding suggests that positive perceptions, driven by religious alignment, are crucial, yet they are not sufficient to overcome practical barriers such as low financial literacy, limited access, high administrative costs, and persistent social stigma. Therefore, successful implementation requires an integrated strategy of intensive public education and substantial improvement in service accessibility and transparency.

Abstract

Several studies have acknowledged that using E-Modules can support the thinking and creative abilities of students to be able to learn independently and can also repeat lessons independently whenever students want. The e-module provided also contains about the sustainability of the Minangkabau custom that almost no one plays the traditional instrument, namely the rice stalk pupuik. Where is the rice stem fertilizer originating from the Payukumbuh, Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatra. This one musical instrument is a musical instrument that has many characteristics in playing it, which has many meanings for each playing technique. This rice stem pupuik musical instrument was explained in the material of mechanical waves and sound waves from class 12 material. The game technique owned by the rice stem pupuik or the shrill sound emitted by the rice stem pupuik, was explained in learning about sound waves. From this, students will be made to think critically and creatively in finding out about the lessons of mechanical waves and sound waves which are owned by the rice stem pupuik musical instrument. The products provided in this study are very different from the E-Modules that have been made by previous researchers, namely the E-modules integrated with local wisdom of rice stem fertilizers originating from West Sumatra.

Abstract

Any types and size of industry is required for the sustainable development of a Boarding School (Madrasa).  Current study at Darul Ma’rifat Modern Islamic Boarding School in East Java is directed to describe: (1) the size and function of industry at Darul Ma’rifat Modern Islamic Boarding School; (2) the life-skill and the enterprenourships capability of the students; and (3) the effect of life-skills and the enterprenourships capability towards self-fulfilment attitude of students. All of the sixth grade students population (542 pupils) were randomly taken to get 226 students sample by using Slovin  formula : n = N / 1 + N. e2. ( n = sample size, 1 = constanta variable, N = population, e = standard error / 0,05). Data were collected through observation, psychological scale and interview. They were then analyzed using regression supported by Statistical Package of Social Science programme. The results show that: (1) There were thirty unit small and medium industry at Darul Ma’rifat Modern Islamic Boarding School. (2) Life-skills and the enterprenourships capability of the students were taught through practice like; working in bread industry and mini market etc. (3) The mean scored of life-skills and the enterprenourships of the students were 82% categorized high.Copyright © 2013 by Al-Ta'lim All right reservedDOI: 10.15548/jt.v20i3.48
