The success of a person in a career work is not only determined by his or her technical capability, but also the non-technical skills which is so called ‘soft-skills’.  It is an attitude which is exemplified among the cognitive and values in the interaction with people around. Several identified falures in the community’s life indicate that many Islamic university graduates suffered from lack of ability to build  harmonious relationship with the environment.  Therefore, it is a high time for this institution to consistently instil some types of soft-skills on the parts of the students.  The current study shares the urgent needs for developing students’ soft-skills for Islamic colleges and universities. The paper ends up with several conclusions while promoting some commitments to be held by the faculty development including: the identification of soft-skills that have already existed in the students’ minds and which need to be developed, the exploration of soft skills attributes for the next 5 years based on the inspiration or opinion of the stake holders and alumnaes, the setting of action plan for academic and non-cademic agendas, acting out the planned activities, as well as the sustainable blue-print of valid soft-skills. Copyright © 2014 by Al-Talim All right reserved

Abstract

Human beings as individuals and social beings are constantly faced with various problems or issues that they encounter in almost every side of life.  Precise decision making is required to overcome these problems so that all of the alternative solutions can be achieved optimally.  One’s position in an organization or institution has often been distracted by some polices and decision, and therefore, he or she has to consider solutions while keeping the organization runs well.   This is so because in every organization whether big and small, the changing of situation  such as personnel shift  has often raised conflict and misunderstanding.  These problems must be avoided or clarified.  Policy and decision making in substantive Islamic education is not too much different from the common theories of policy and decision-making. However, the policy and decision-making in Islamic education is more focused on the principles outlined in the Quran and the Hadith of the Prophet (Peace be upon him). Copyright © 2013 by Al-Talim All right reservedDOI: 10.15548/jt.v20i2.34

One way of using technology in learning is the use of technological resources in the learning process such as technology-based interactive modules. The use of modules in learning aims so that students can learn independently without or with guidance from educators, so that students will learn better if they do it alone which focuses directly on mastering learning objectives. The aim of this research is to produceInteractive module based on Trait Treatment Interaction (TTI) using Adobe Flash on collaboration  skills with students on the material of the kinetic theory of gases and the laws of thermodynamics class XI SMA / MA valid, practical and effective. This research is a research and development (R&D). Development design is using a development model ADDIE consists of: the Analysis stage (analyzing), the Design stage (designing), the Development stage (developing), the Implementation stage (implementing) and the Evaluation stage (evaluating). The instruments used in this study were a validity questionnaire, a practicality questionnaire, and an effectiveness test. The product validity test is given by expert validators in the aspects of material / content, media / construction, and language. The practicality test is given  to educators and students, while the effectiveness test is given to students. The results of the research were produced Interactive module based on Trait Treatment Interaction (TTI) using Adobe Flash for students on the material of the kinetic theory of gases and the laws of thermodynamics which is very valid, very practical and very effective against collaboration skills of students.

Abstract

This research uses qualitative methods to investigate the transformation of Qur'anic and Hadith learning in Indonesia through the implementation of Merdeka Curriculum. The focus of the research includes the identification of barriers in traditional religious education, an emphasis on the need for a more dynamic and inclusive teaching approach to these key texts, as well as an explanation of solutions involving the adoption of Merdeka Curriculum. The curriculum incorporates innovative teaching methods, technology and community participation. The results show that traditional religious education in Indonesia is faced with a number of challenges, including monotonous teaching methods, lack of student interaction, and less relevance to contemporary life. Therefore, a more dynamic and inclusive teaching approach is needed to arouse students' interest and understanding of the Qur'an and Hadith. Merdeka Curriculum is considered a promising solution by bringing together innovative teaching methods, technology and community engagement. Its implementation showed significant improvements in student engagement, understanding, and application of the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith. In conclusion, curriculum reform through Merdeka Curriculum has an important role to play in strengthening the understanding and appreciation of Islamic principles among students in Indonesia. This more dynamic and inclusive approach can help the younger generation to understand and appreciate the principles of Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to thoroughly investigate the effectiveness of fiqh learning on students' worship practices at MTsN 2 Agam. With the continuous growth in religious education, a strong understanding of Islamic teachings becomes increasingly important for students in educational institutions like MTsN 2 Agam. Fiqh, as a branchq of Islamic knowledge that studies practical laws and rules of worship, forms the core of the religious curriculum in this school. This study will explore the extent to which fiqh learning in fiqh classes at MTsN 2 Agam influences students' understanding of worship practices such as prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. Emphasis will be placed on the practical guidance imparted in fiqh learning, which includes correct techniques and procedures in performing these rituals. Additionally, the study will observe how a strong understanding of religious principles, taught through fiqh learning, impacts students' daily lives outside the school environment. Through careful data collection and analysis, this research aims to provide a better understanding of how fiqh learning at MTsN 2 Agam influences students' worship practices. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights for the development of religious curricula in similar educational institutions and also shed light on the importance of fiqh education in shaping individuals who are obedient to religious teachings and reflect high moral values and ethics in their interactions with others.

Abstract

From this research, the objectives are: 1) Describe the problems in the PAI learning process at SMP N 1 Tiumang. 2) Analyze the application of the guided inquiry model as a solution to PAI and BP learning problems at SMP N 1 Tiumang. 3) Analyze the impact of using the guided inquiry model on student activity. This research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Then techniques for collecting data include interviews with teachers in the PAI and BP study fields, observations at school and data obtained from various kinds of literature such as books, journals and other related sources. The results of the research show that: 1) In the learning process in the classroom the teacher is not clear about what type of learning model to use in the classroom. Learning only runs conventionally where the teacher explains the material/information in the textbook. Then the students sat down and most of them did not pay attention to the material read by the teacher. 2) The application of the guided inquiry model in the classroom is divided into 3 activities, namely the opening, core and final activities, namely the closing. In the core activity, students are divided into several groups to work on and discuss assignments that have been given by the teacher previously. 3) The impact of using this guided inquiry learning model can increase the activity of most students in class.
