Abstract

Abstract

Learning in Indonesia does not encourage learners to think critically. Based on the results of the study states that learning in school has not been able to cultivate critical thinking skills in learners because learning still tends to be teacher-centered. The critical thinking skills of learners in the schools studied are still relatively low. Research from various researchers has previously stated that guided inquiry models can improve the ability of critical thinking pills. The purpose of this study is to find out if there is an influence on the critical thinking skills of learners who apply LKPD based on the guided inquiry learning model based on PhET Simulation compared to applying conventional PhET-assisted learning models only. This research is a pseudo-experiment using the Design Counter Balance. Data capture using the t-test. The results of the implementation of LKPD based on the PhET-assisted inquiry model show that there is an influence on the critical thinking skills of learners rather than conventional models with PhET.Keywords: LKPD, Guided Inquiry, PhET Simulation, and Critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Gender has become a critical issue globally because it is one of the main goals of global collective transformation in sustainable development. This research is motivated by the absence of science teaching materials with STEM-based global warming material with the principle of sustainable development in terms of gender perspective. The purpose of this research is to develop and produce a STEM-based e-book with sustainable development principles based on gender that is valid, practical, and effective. This research is a Research and Development using the Plomp model which consists of 3 stages, namely the initial research stage, the development stage, and the assessment stage. The results showed that the STEM-based e-book with gender-based sustainable development principles obtained a validity test result of 85.85%, a practicality test result of 87.16%, and an effective test result for female students of 83, 5% while for male students is 80%. So, it can be concluded that e-books are very valid, very practical, and very effective for use in classroom learning.

Abstract

Planning and carrying out investigations (PCOI) among students are still low, and teachers pay less attention to differences in the abilities of each student, so they have not achieved optimal results. This research aims to develop of a chemistry e-module using the trait treatment interaction (TTI) model to increase valid, practical, and effective's PCOI capabilities. TTI is considered an ideal learning model because it can accommodate and value individual differences among students. The research framework employed in this study follows a research and development method with a define, design, development, and disseminate (4D) model. The results indicate that the high validity level achieved an average score of 84.3% in terms of materials, language, and media aspects. The practicality test of the products also received an average score of 86.2%. The product's effectiveness is categorized as very effective, with students' test results averaging 82.3%. The e-module is deemed valid, practical, and effective in enhancing PCOI capabilities.

Abstract

The lack of use of IT-based teaching materials and the low ability of students' scientific literacy in learning science causes the learning objectives to be not achieved in schools. In addition, the use of android among students who are also getting higher can support the learning process if it is used as well as possible. The purpose of this research is to produce Android-based interactive teaching materials using the Ispring application with a sustainable development perspective that is valid and practical to use. This research is a development research with the Plomp three-step development model, namely the preliminary stage, the development stage or the prototype stage and the assessment stage. Based on data analysis, the results of this study produced very valid interactive teaching materials with an average score of 89.22% in terms of material, media and language. Very practical to use by educators and students with an average score of 87.98%. It can be concluded that Android-based interactive teaching material use the Ispring application with an insight into sustainable development with very valid and practical criteria used in science learning.

Abstract

The influence of the STEM approach has been widely studied. However, a summary of how much influence STEM has on critical thinking skills from these various studies has not been done well. This article examines the impact of the STEM approach on students' capacity for critical thought when studying physics and science. This type of research is quantitative research with meta-analysis methods. Articles from recent four-year publications in national and international journals serve as data sources. Only 16 articles met the criteria for further analysis. This study's method of data analysis involved calculating the effect size to provide a summary effect size. There are four moderator variables analyzed: learning models, teaching materials, subject matter, and education level. Based on the study's findings, it can be said that the STEM approach to fostering students' critical thinking abilities has the largest impact size when used in motion systems courses at the high school level, using media schoology and worksheets for the students. The STEM approach is proven to have a high summary effect size on students' critical thinking skills, with a score of 1.37 (high category).
