Abstract

The Indonesia Pintar Program is a government initiative aimed at addressing the educational needs of disadvantaged students, ensuring they receive adequate schooling. This study investigates how the program influences students' decisions to pursue higher education in Denpasar City. Conducted using the Slovin technique, the research sampled 100 PIP recipients from 12th grade during the 2022–2023 academic year in Denpasar City. Data was collected via a questionnaire using a survey approach, and analyzed using binary logistic regression. The findings indicate that parental wealth positively and significantly influences the decision to pursue higher education, while the social environment also plays a positive role. Conversely, the number of dependents negatively impacts this decision. Additionally, parental education positively affects the likelihood of seeking higher education. Overall, the Indonesia Pintar Program provides underprivileged children with essential educational resources, encouraging them to value education beyond secondary school.

Abstract

Reworked clothing refers to the process of taking existing garments or textiles and transforming them into new clothing. Wearing reworked clothing is one of the best ways to reduce fashion waste while creating unique and environmentally friendly apparel. Generation Z is a digital generation that tends to express themselves through the clothes they wear. This study examines the simultaneous and partial effects of the variables willingness to pay, acceptance, product quality, and understanding of the SDGs concept on the purchase intention of reworked clothing. The research was conducted on 100 respondents in South Jakarta who follow the Instagram account @make.them.jealous, using an online Google Form questionnaire, with data analysis performed using SPSS software. The study aimed to determine both the simultaneous and partial effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The results showed that willingness to pay, acceptance, product quality, and understanding of the SDGs concept have a significant simultaneous effect on the purchase intention of reworked clothing. However, willingness to pay does not have a significant partial effect, acceptance does not have a significant partial effect, product quality has a significant partial effect, and understanding of the SDGs concept has a significant partial effect on the purchase intention of reworked clothing. Abstract

The macro health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic that resulted in an economic slump in Bali exposed the need for economic development outside the tourism sector. Manufacturing Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) is one sector that contributes significantly to the economy, export value, and employment, particularly during moments when the tourism sector is down. This study aims to determine the performance of manufacturing MSEs during 2018-2021 using Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier production function analysis. The Technical Inefficiency (TE) value of manufacturing MSEs in Bali was 22.24% over 2018-2021. The impact of COVID-19 on each ISIC and business location has a varied impact on the production value of MSEs Manufacturing. The gender of the business owner, financial service, age of workers, and source of raw materials are inefficiency variables that significantly affect production value. However, the training received by manufacturing MSEs had no significant effect. The findings from this study can be used as a basis for government policy in further developing the untapped potential of manufacturing MSEs in Bali regarding impacts upon Bali's tourism sector during the pandemic.JEL Classification: D24, E23, J16, L86, O14 How to Cite:Candrawati, I.A., & Purwanti, P.A.P. Abstract

Circular economy literacy efforts are important considering that the waste awareness index in Indonesia is still worrying. If we look at the data from the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN), food waste dominates the composition of waste based on waste type, namely 40.2 percent. When looking at the source, it is known that households are the largest source of waste (38.3 percent). Considering these data and facts, preventive efforts need to be carried out at the household level, especially regarding food waste. This activity aims to provide education for mothers regarding the circular economy and food waste behavior to minimize food waste, especially in its preparation or better known as food preparation. It is also believed that this effort will have a positive impact on the family's economy. This activity is carried out through the outreach method, and is also accompanied by a pre-test and post-test as a form of evaluation. The locus of the activity will be carried out in Batuan Village, Sukawati District, Gianyar Regency, targeting the local village PKK (family welfare empowerment) team. The aim is that information and activity materials can be distributed and implemented widely. After comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test, it was discovered that there had been an increase in service participants' understanding of the circular economy and food preparation. It is certainly important to continue this activity, one of which is through assistance in preparing circular economy programs through the PKK.

Abstract

This paper investigates whether public transfers crowd-out inter-household transfers in Indonesia. Using household data from Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS-3 & IFLS-4), this study evaluates the impact of direct cash transfer programs (Bantuan Langsung Tunai, BLT) on inter-family transfer (i.e., monetary transfer from parents, siblings, child, and other family members who do not live co-residently). The results indicate that, in general, the crowding-out effect is relatively small. This effect is statistically significant only in urban households but not rural ones. This finding suggests that expanding public transfer under formal social security programs to cover poor households does not significantly reduce the existence of informal transfers. Further, public transfers potentially improve the distribution of household income.

Abstract

Abstract

The Village Credit Institution (LPD) is a financial institution that is owned and managed by a traditional village in Tierbatu Village, Bangli Regency, Bali Province. LPDs have long provided support to rural communities who have difficulty accessing financial institutions such as banks due to constraints on guarantees or financial reports. Bad credit and internal monitoring are important issues, especially during a pandemic, so this is a challenge for the LPD itself because the trend for bad loans has increased. This community service aims to provide solutions to problems in the aspects of credit relaxation and internal control. The implementation method consists of counseling, mentoring, documentation and evaluation. Mentoring activities result in increased understanding of credit relaxation and internal control.
