Abstract

Abstract

Wisma Gaharu as one of the plantations assisted by the Malang Regency Perhutani Service conducts an agarwood nursery with the species Gyrinops Versteegii. However, the agarwood plants cultivated at Wisma Gaharu are attacked by caterpillars annually, causing damage to the agarwood leaves. Accordingly, the growth of agarwood plants is hampered, and further dry out and die. This causes the owner of Wisma Gaharu to suffer huge losses, especially if the pest attacks the plant which is ready for the inoculation process in the dry season. To overcome this, agarwood farmers must pay high attention and vigilance to fight agarwood caterpillar attacks that occur throughout the year since it is considered the most dangerous pest for plants. The unavailability of production support equipment is one of the problems faced by Wisma Gaharu; there is also a need for work safety training (K3) regarding proper supporting equipment use considering the risks faced by workers in the agriculture sector. The above problems underline the main reasons for supporting equipment procurement and administering work safety training.

Abstract

As a currently popular technology, the use of smart cards continues to increase in various fields and the rapid development of technology. Therefore, data security stored on a smart card needs to focus on avoiding misuse of data by unauthorized parties. However, it is not enough for the security mechanism to be carried out only during the communication process of sending data. Then, the mechanism for securing data on the smart card also needs to be done. In this study, a data security technique using dynamic keys is proposed by changing the key and access conditions on the smart card according to predetermined rules. Dynamic keys are a new mechanism proposed to authenticate smart cards using a different key on each card. This technique ensures that the keys used to access each smart card are different so that the risk of data duplication and modification threats can be minimized. In addition, this mechanism is a low-cost security privacy protection. The test results show that the data security technique using dynamic keys ensures that read and write access to the smart card can only be done if the keys match the rules.

Abstract

Abstract

Various factors cause the low scores of students in practicum courses. If these factors cannot be identified, more and more students will drop out of the study due to low scores, especially Vocational College students who do not have the opportunity to improve their scores in the short semester. Students with the potential to drop out must be identified as soon as possible because the number of dropouts can have an impact on a university's accreditation value. In this study, the prediction of student academic performance was carried out using a framework consisting of imbalanced data handling using SMOTE and feature selection using Random Forest, as well as the application of Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) for the formation of a classification model. The MLP architecture consists of some neurons in the input layer, two hidden layers with five neurons each, and two neurons in the output layer. SMOTE succeeded in selecting ten significant parameters from 22 initial parameters, which produced the most accurate predictions. According to the test results, the proposed framework offers the best accuracy of 0.8889 and an F1-Score of 0.9032. These results prove that the proposed framework can be used as an alternative for the Department to take action to prevent students from dropping out.

Abstract

Power transformers are critical to electrical power systems but are prone to failures due to factors such as heat, electricity, chemical reactions, mechanical stress, and adverse environmental conditions. Moni-toring the insulating oil effectively is key to preventing these failures. A major challenge in this process is determining the optimal weights for the oil quality index, which lacks a standardized benchmark and often relies on subjective expert assessments. To reduce expert bias and subjectivity, this research utilizes a genetic algorithm to optimize the weightings for five essential parameters: color, water content, break-down voltage (BDV), interfacial tension (IFT), and acidity. The algorithm operates through three stages: crossover, mutation, and selection, and analyzes data from 504 oil tests across various transformers. The mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) is used as the fitness value to assess the algorithm's effective-ness. The optimization process determined the best conditions as 132 iterations, a population size of 180, a crossover rate of 0.2, and a mutation rate of 0.8. These parameters achieved an average MAPE of 1.799% over ten trials, indicating high accuracy. This research not only optimizes the weighting of the oil quality index but also significantly reduces the need for expert input and subjective judgments in trans-former maintenance. The findings are expected to improve the efficiency and reliability of power trans-formers, thereby minimizing failures and associated economic costs.

Abstract

As one of the most versatile plants, Jatropha curcas is spread in various regions around the world because of the great benefits it provides. However, Jatropha curcas is easily attacked by viruses which then cause damage to the plant, such as yellowing leaves and secreting sap, making it necessary to identify Jatropha curcas disease to deal with the problem as early as possible so that the losses incurred are not too large. An expert system was built to be able to identify Jatropha curcas disease by adopting expert knowledge. The use of the Random Forest algorithm as one of the classification algorithms was applied in this study. By using a random forest, several disease prediction classes are generated by each decision tree that has been formed. The disease class with the most votes was used as the final result. In this study, the data used were 166 data with 9 diseases and 30 symptoms. The results showed that Random Forest outperformed other algorithms such as Fuzzy Neural Network and Extreme Learning Machine with an accuracy of 98.002% using the composition of training data and test data of 70:30.
