Abstract

Online teaching has been pushed further as the best solution that addresses the challenges of colleges and universities closure during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study intended to disclose students’ perceptions of the online teaching. A quantitative survey approach was employed to collect data from a total of 175 students which were conveniently established from amongst students enrolled in academic year 2020/2021 at the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Department of Musamus University, Indonesia. Applying the SPSS software version 16 as the tool, obtained data were quantitatively analyzed using descriptive analysis of frequencies and percentages. The results showed the majority of respondent were disagreeing with the facts that they have an access to personal devices and that they can easily access to both internet and online classes. The majority of respondent were agreeing with the facts that teaching materials were well-planned and that various learning strategies were used to help students understand. The majority of respondent were agreeing with the facts that students were given opportunity to raise and answer the questions and that feedback given on students’ work are very helpful. Lecturers need to reach out and check students’ conditions before starting online teaching.

Abstract

This study aims to prove and describe whether audio media can improve listening skills especially in listening to news broadcasts. One class consisted of 30 students as the sample namely class VIII.1 of Junior High School 2 Mattiro Bulu, Pinrang Regency. A simple random sampling is a technique in choosing the sample. Written tests and oral tests were the tools in collecting the data. The obtaining data analyzed in descriptive statistical techniques and inferential statistics t-test type. Based on the result of the study, the ability to listen to the news of students in class VIII.1 using audio media is categorized as medium. Students who met the standard Minimum completion criteria were 26 students (87%) get the standard Minimum completion criteria and 4 students (13%) who did not reach the Minimum completion criteria. Therefore, audio media can improve the ability of students to listen to the news. Listening learning fulfills three indicators, including learning quality, learning quantity, and time. Hypothesis test results = 2.682 > t table = 2.045. This shows that the proposed research hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aspek-aspek budaya postmodernisme yang terdapat dalam novel Ulid karya Mahfud Ikhwan yang terdiri dari; ekletisisme, parodi, pastiche, ironi, dan camp. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa kata, frasa, klausa atau kalimat yang berwujud ekletisisme, parodi, pastiche, ironi, dan camp. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah sebuah novel yang berjudul Ulid Karya Mahfud Ikhwan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik baca, teknik simak, dan teknik catat dengan teknik analisis data yaitu mengidentifikasi, mengklasifikasi, mendeskripsikan dan menginterpretasikan. Hasil penelitian dalam novel Ulid karya Mahfud Ikhwan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat berbagai situasi yang menggambarkan perilaku postmodernisme yang lebih didominasi oleh sifat ironi yang ditemukan dalam berbagai situasi seperti bencana alam, perekonomian dan hal-hal yang bertentangan dengan perasaan. Aspek selanjutnya adalah prilaku Camp yang digambarkan dalam bentuk pengelabuan penampilan, sikap, benda dan sifat. Pastiche diungkapkan melalui situasi yang berhubungan dengan perilaku tokoh, harapan di masa lalu, serta informasi mengenai tokoh pada masa lalu Ekletisisme yang digambarkan dalam bentuk perpaduan benda, bahasa dan makanan. Aspek parodi diungkapkan dalam bentuk ungkapan perasaan puas, tidak senang, dan tidak nyaman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dalam novel Ulid karya Mahfud Ikhwan dapat disimpulkan bahwa masyarakat postmodern dapat diidentifikasi dari aktivitas atau tindakan yang digambarkan oleh tokoh dalam menyikapi sebuah peristiwa yang berhubungan dengan zamannya.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the students’ motivation in learning English with the use of storytelling. The research was categorized as descriptive qualitative research. The research was done in Junior High School YAPIS Merauke which focused on eighth grade in 2021. The sample was chosen by using cluster random sampling. The sample focused on VIII. A which consisted of 21 students. The data was taken through observation using an observation checklist and interview. The observation checklist included 20 statements and the interview included 8 questions related to motivation and storytelling. The result of observations and interviews showed that the students' motivation increased in learning English. For treatment step, students were motivated to ask and respond to the questions given. Thus, most students enjoy learning English through videos, students are interested in the teaching materials provided, and some students understand the material better by presenting using videos, concluding the material, and understanding by presenting the material through the zoom application. In addition, by telling stories, most students are more flexible in retelling the contents of the story and they are also motivated by using such a way.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perkembangan kemampuan berbahasa pada anak penyandang autisme melalui bahasa lisan di SLB Negeri Anim Ha Merauke serta upaya peningkatan berbahasa yang dilakukan oleh tim peneliti. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif yaitu menggambarkan objek, kondisi atau peristiwa secara sistematis, faktual, dan akurat mengenai fakta, sifat, dan feneomena yang diselidiki.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan kemampuan berbahasa pada anak penyandang autisme di SLB Negeri Anim Ha Merauke mengalami gangguan bahasa lisan. Pada anak penyandang autisme di SLB Anim Ha Merauke mengalami gangguan artikulasi ditandai dengan adanya subtitusi (penggantian), omisi (penghilangan), distorsi (tidak jelas), dan adisi (penambahan) dan mengalami gangguan berbahasa yang ditandai dengan adanya gangguan berbahasa reseptif dan ekspresif

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan bercerita singkat dengan menggunakan media audio visual untuk siswa kelas VIII SMP YPPGI Geradus Adii Merauke. Oleh karena permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra yakni perlu meningkatkan keterampilan bercerita singkat menggunakan media. Informasi tentang kondisi mitra menunjukkan adanya permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra. Media diharapkan mampu menjadi solusi terhadap kemampuan bercerita siswa. Metode pengabdian ini menggunakan pelatihan, penerapan, dan pendampingan. Peserta pelatihan adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP YPPGI Geradus Adii Merauke dengan jumlah 12 orang. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian berupa observasi kelas selama penerapan berlangsung, kemampuan siswa meningkat dalam bercerita singkat. Indikator dari peningkatan kemampuan ini adalah mayoritas siswa tidak lagi melakukan kesalahan dalam bercerita singkat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan strategi pembelajaran Flipped Classroom. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa XI IPA 3 SMAN 6 Makassar Tahun Ajaran 2021-2022. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 64 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan uji kesetaraan. Pengumpulan data berpikir kritis menggunakan tes essai yang terintegrasi dengan tes hasil belajar siswa pada materi menulis cerpen. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan terdapat korelasi antara keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa. Adanya korelasi karena berpikir kritis dapat memberdayakan dan meningkatkan hasil belajar bahasa indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the inner conflict of the main character in the novel Mata Hari. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The source of the data in this study is the novel Mata Hari by Paulo Coelho. The data in this study are in the form of quotations that contain inner conflicts experienced by the main character. The method in this study is descriptive with a literary psychology approach. The technique used is literature study technique, namely content analysis. The research focus is Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology study; (1) physiological needs, (2) safety, (3) love and belonging, (4) self-esteem/appreciation, and (5) self-actualization. The form of inner conflict is internal and external inner conflict. The results of the research show that there is an inner conflict experienced by the main character Mata Hari. Internal inner conflict, namely the main character was raped by the school principal when she was sixteen years old before the main character got to know the world and dived deeper to know the dark world. External inner conflict, in which the main character suffers greatly from accusations from her father, stepmother, and even her husband.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to assess the efficacy of technology in inclusive education on enhancing student learning outcomes. The research methodology employed is a comprehensive literature review, encompassing data from various sources pertaining to the integration of technology in educational settings. The findings indicate that the incorporation of technology in inclusive classrooms can markedly enhance student learning outcomes, particularly in developing cognitive and critical thinking abilities. Additionally, technology can facilitate the optimization of the learning process in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. It is also important to note that the use of technology in education presents certain challenges and risks that must be managed effectively in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Therefore, when considering the use of technology in education, it is essential to carefully select and integrate technology in a manner that is conducive to achieving desired results.
