Abstract

The research was conducted on January 25th to February 3 th 2016 in Teluk Rhu Village waters of Bengkalis Regency Of Riau Provinces. This research aims to analyze the composition of traps catches and determine the type and amount of catches in the morning and afternoon at the fish aggregating device. The method used in this research is a survey and research conducted for 10 consecutive days. The catches during of research were 1,495 kg (65 ekor). The results of research on the composition of traps catches in the morning is 0,485 kg (25 fishes), while during the afternoon 1,01 kg (40 fishes). The catches is consists of four species, namely: Pseudocienna amovensis, Stromateus cinereus, Equulites leuciscus, and Chorine mustala. Afternoon catches is bigger than morning catches.

Abstract

This research was conducted in October 2013 in Pematang Sei Baru village of Tanjung Balai Asahan sub regency Asahan Regency in North Sumatera Province. This study aims to determine the level of environmental friendly sembilang gillnet using Fish Aggregating Device (Tuasan) or FAD and economical feasibility of this environmentally friendly technologies. The method used in this study is a survey method with direct observation both interviews and discussions with fisherman. Observation by using FAO (1995) criteria shows that this fishing gear in combination with FAD could be classified into environmentally friendly fishing gear. The results of the feasibility analysis calculations indicate that this gillnet bussiness proved provide benefits for fishermen and deserves to be developed because of the value of BCR (Benefit Cost Ratio) retrieved of 3.07; FRR (Financial Rate of Return) is 181.91% and PPC (Payback Period of Capital) is only 6 months and 18 days.

Abstract

Field Experiment was carry out to study the effect of vegetable and animalbase baits and combination of both on shrimp catches (Macrobrachiumrosenbergii de Man). This Fishing Experiment was using a simple randompattern, with three treatments as following U1 =Bran, U2=Fish Flour, U3=Mixing of Bran and Fish Flour. This experiment was undertaken from 7th till 13thjuli 2009.The treatments effected on number and weight of catches shrimp differentlyas the fish was bring highest catches, followed by mixed bait and the lowestcatches is bran in respectively were 16 shrimps (380 grams), 12 shrimps ( 240grams) and 10 shrimps (170 grams).

Abstract

Toba in the past few years has declined in fish catching populations. In order to find out the fisheries of lake Toba with quickly used the acoustic methode using the de-tected backscattering strength volume of fish. The amis of this research is to determine the distribution of spatial backscattering strength of fish in the lake toba. The research was carried out in the lake toba using scientific echosounder DT-X split beam re-cording device 38-1000 KHz during six days in September. The results of the acoustic data processing showed that the highest Sv value was at depth of 50-75 m which is -32, 29 (dB) and the average is -55,82 (dB), Sv was detected on the eastern edge of lake toba waters, while the lowest Sv was detected at depth of 25-50 m which is 60.00 (dB) with the mean is -57,93 (dB) spread over the edge of the southern part of lake toba. This is influenced by the condition of the aquatic enviroment an habits of fish in the lake toba.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and determine environmentally friendly tuna fishing gear and the priority for developing fishing gear at PPI Kuala Langsa. The method used in this research is a survey method. Moreover, purposive sampling was chosen as a sampling technique in selecting respondents as the sample. The data obtained were processed using the scoring and analytical hierarchical processes (AHP) methods. Based on the eco-friendly level, the longline scored 82.71%, the surface gill net scored 79.38%, the bottom gill net scored 76.04%, and the purse seine scored 74.79%. Based on the results of the AHP analysis, the fishing gears that became the main priority were longline with a value of 0.311, purse seine with a value of 0.293, surface gill nets with a value of 0.220, and bottom gill net with a value of 0.176. The government must reoptimise the catch of tuna based on environmentally friendly criteria. Also, it is necessary to conduct further research related to environmentally friendly fishing gear for other types of fish, and it is necessary to apply regulations regarding environmentally friendly fishing gear

Abstract

Fish resources have limits; therefore, it is necessary to carry out appropriate management so that resource utilization is sufficient for a long time. Areas used as fishing businesses need to know how the level of utilization. For this reason, clear information is needed on the potential and level of utilization of marine fisheries resources to support the management policy of tuna resources for optimal management and utilization and to prevent the reduction of fish stocks in the future. This research was conducted for three weeks in July 2023 at Bungus Ocean Fishing Port (PPS), Padang City, West Sumatra Province. The method used in this research is a survey method or direct review of the field. The maximum sustainable potential value was obtained at 572.36 tons with an optimum utilization effort value of 330 trips. The allowable catch of longtail tuna is 457.89 tons, with an average utilization rate of 97.41%. Based on the average value of the utilization rate obtained from 2018 to 2019, the number of allowable catches, and the MSY value, it is concluded that the longtail tuna caught by bagan boats and Tonda fishing rods at PPS Bungus has experienced overfishing. There is a need for more action and monitoring of the amount of catch obtained each year, as well as limiting the amount of catch allowed for each fisherman so that the utilization rate of longtail tuna can return to optimal catch and prevent overfishing and maintain fish stocks for the future

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the catch of Sondong as the main information in managing fishing, the availability of data and information about the productivity of Sondong fishing gear fisheries in Selat Akar Village and with the management in the utilization of fish resources, the sustainability of Sondong fishing business can be maintained. The research method used in this research is a survey method used to obtain the necessary data directly from the research site. The results showed that the production of Sondong ship fluctuated. The results showed that the production of Sondong ship fluctuated. So that the annual production value of Sondong ship for 5 years also fluctuates. The productivity value of Sondong ships varies where the highest values in 2017 and 2019 show that the period was a good year in producing fishing using these fishing gear. The low productivity in 2018 was due to temporary weather anomalies, where weather conditions worsened which affected the success of the capture process. and the lowest was in 2020. And the results of the Trend of Sondong fishing gear production show that there is a high correlation that indicates that produce results in the next 3 years will increase and show that the initial production value of sondong fishing gear is relatively high.
