Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes using guided discovery methods and the expository method. These populations in the study were the students of two classes. The design of this study uses Randomized Pretest-Postest Comparison Group Design. The technique of collecting data uses a test in the form of an essay. The test instrument used is a validity test. The data analysis technique used is the analysis prerequisite test, including the normality test and homogeneity test followed by hypothesis testing. The results of the experimental and control class hypothesis tests with a significant level of 5% and dk = 62 indicate that for students' mathematics learning outcomes (posttest) 1) there are differences in students' mathematics learning outcomes by using the guided discovery method and the expository method in class VII students. of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 2 Kalasan, 2) Guided Discovery method is more effective than the expository method on students' mathematics learning outcomes of class VII of SMP Negeri 2 kalasan

Abstract

Multimedia learning on learning mathematics can help students visualize abstract materials to help students understand the material quickly. However, multimedia learning mathematics developed for the learning process of mathematics is only slightly. This research aims to develop multimedia learning using the MOODLE program on the integral subject for senior high school students in grade XII that feasible using on learning mathematics. This research is included in development research using the ADDIE development model. The research subjects are material experts, media experts, and State Senior High School 8 Yogyakarta (SMA Negeri 8 Yogyakarta) and State Senior High School 5 Yogyakarta (SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta). Data collection techniques used questionnaires, observations, and interviews conducted before developing the product. The research instruments used are observation guides, interview guides, and questionnaires to evaluate the learning multimedia that has been developed. The data analysis technique uses qualitative analysis that is converted into a Likert scale cumulative value. The result of the research showed that based on the analysis of multimedia learning needs, analysis of the characteristics of students, and analysis of problems encountered, obtained that methods of teaching teachers in monotonous, teachers who develop multimedia learning is only slightly, students often browsing related mathematics learning materials, students are difficult to understanding definite integral. Developed multimedia learning using the MOODLE program on the integral subject for senior high school students in grade XII that students quickly understood. The feasibility of developed products based on the calculation of average scores is an excellent category of material experts obtained for 4,37, excellent category of media experts obtained for 4,41, and decent category of students response obtained for 4,17. The student's response is decent, based on the result of the instrument of student response assessment.

Abstract

Mastery and understanding the mathematical concept is one thing that is very important to achieve learning outcomes. However, this cannot be achieved the maximum. Therefore requires learning alternatives include using Cooperative Jigsaw and Quantum Learning for mathematics. This type of research is a comparative study. The study population all seventh-grade students of State Junior High School (SMPN) 01 Kretek Academic Year 2015/2016. The research sample is student’s class VIIC and VIID. The sampling technique used random sampling of classes. Methods of data collection using the test. The research instrument includes validity, reliability, level of difficulty, and distinguishing matter. Analysis of the data used t-test. The results showed significant differences between student learning mathematics learning using Jigsaw Cooperative models with student learning to use Quantum Learning. Based on data analysis, , which means the Cooperative Jigsaw learning model is more effective than the learning model Quantum Learning on students mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Learning that teachers dominate, communication tends to one direction, and students' inactivity is why students often forget the material so that the learning results are not maximum. PQ4R was created to improve the memory of the matter. This research aims to determine the difference between the use of PQ4R learning strategies and learning strategies that have been used in place of research that is Expository, in its relation to the mathematics learning outcomes of students VIII grade even semester SMP Negeri 4 Sewon Bantul academic year 2016/2017. This study used a posttest-only control group design. The population in this study are three classes: the sample taken two classes with random sample technique. Data collection was conducted with the test method. The instrument used is a multiple-choice test. Before analyzing the data, a prerequisite test consisting of normality test and homogeneity test was performed. The research results on the significant level of 5% and df = 62 indicate that: (1) there is a difference in students' mathematics learning between using PQ4R learning strategies and using expository learning strategies. This is indicated by the value of  = 1.99897 and =  = 11.54804 which mean  > . Moreover, (2) PQ4R learning strategies are more effective than expository strategies. This is indicated by the value of = 1.6698 and = = 11,54804 which mean  > .

Abstract

The researcher does this research because the result of the learning mathematics is still low. This research aims to find out the learning mathematics results by using the kancing gemerincing technique of the cooperative learning model on second-semester student grade VIII in SMP Negeri 4 Yogyakarta at Academic Year 2016/2017. The research population is all of the second-semester students grade VIII of SMP Negeri 4 Yogyakarta academic year 2016/2017, which consists of 5 classes: VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D, and VIII E with the number of 168 students. The sampling technique uses random sampling, where class VIII D as the experimental class I and class VIII B as the experimental class II. The data collecting techniques use documentation, interview, and test method. The testing instruments use validity tests, discriminating power tests, and reliability tests. The data analysis technique used for the prerequisite test uses the normality test with the chi-square and homogeneity test by Bartlet test formula. Moreover, the t-test is used for the hypothesis test. The result of the research shows at the 5% significance level and dk= 66 that (1) there are differences in mathematic learning result among the students who use the kancing gemerincing technique of cooperative learning model and who uses the TS-TS technique of cooperative learning model on second-semester students grade VIII of SMP Negeri 4 Yogyakarta in academic year 2016/2017. It is indicated by the result of tcount = 2,4339 and ttable = 1,9983, so tcount > ttable. (2) The kancing gemerincing technique of cooperative learning model is more effective than the TS-TS technique of cooperative learning model toward the mathematic learning result of the second-semester students grade VIII in SMP Negeri 4 Yogyakarta at academic year 2016/2017. It is showed by the result of tcount =2,4339 and ttable =1,6693, so tcount > tcount.

Abstract

The lack of media and learning facilities, and the lack of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions, makes learning less exciting and monotonous. This study aims to develop e-modules based on HOTS questions with Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning models and determine the quality of e-modules developed. This study refers to the ADDIE model with Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. This study's subjects were teachers and 7th-grade students of Junior High School (SMP) Muhammadiyah Ngemplak and SMP Negeri 2 Ngemplak. This study's object is an e-module based on HOTS questions with STAD learning models on algebraic form material. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire assessment by material experts, media experts, and students. Data analysis techniques in the form of qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that material experts in the aspects of conformity, completeness, convenience, and clarity received values of 86%, 80%, 87%, and 88%, respectively. The media experts in effectiveness, ease, suitability, completeness, and communicative and interactive scores were 93%, 93%, 92%, 90%, and 92%. The average results of student responses from the two schools on convenience, clarity, suitability, appearance, attractiveness are 90%, 90%, 90%, 94%, and 92%. So it can be concluded that the e-module produced is classified both in terms of material, very good in terms of media, and very practical in its use.

Abstract

The results of mathematics students learning associated with many factors. Interest in learning, parent’s attention, and numerical skills are a variety of factors that were related to student mathematics learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the relationship between interest in learning, attention parents and numerical skills with mathematics students learning outcomes of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Sapuran Wonosobo district at academic year 2015/2016. The population in this study were all students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Sapuran comprising five classes with the number of population in this study were 129 students, the sample is class X MIPA 2 totaling 27 students, as well as the technique of sampling with random sampling technique to class. Techniques of data collection was conducted by questionnaire to determine interest in learning and attention from their parents, as well as the test method to determine the ability of numerical and mathematical learning outcomes of students. To test the validity of the instruments used to test the validity, reliability test and different power. After all the data collected do the data analysis techniques including normality test, linearity test, and independent testing. Analysis of data to test the hypothesis by using product-moment correlation and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between interest in learning, parents attention and numerical skills with mathematics learning outcomes at a significant level of 5% with a multiple correlation coefficient  and arithmetic    greater than table F  , relative contribution   %, the relative contribution     and the relative contributions    and the effective contribution   %, the effective contribution    and the effective contribution   .

Abstract

Flash-based math ebook development for student of 8th grade in a system of linear equation in two variables material be set in learning of the lack of development of a variety of electronic learning media of mathematics as well as lack of utilization of information and communication technology for learning in SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan and SMP Muhammadiyah Boarding School Pleret. This study aims to develop a flash-based math ebook for a student of 8th grade in a system of linear equation in two variables material and know the properness of the ebook. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R & D) by using the ADDIE model  (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The subject of this study are two media experts, two math experts, 38 students of 8th grade of SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan, 12 students of 8th grade of Al-Qadar Banguntapan tutoring class and 31 students of 8th grade SMP Muhammadiyah Boarding School Pleret. This research used the non-test technique. While the research instrument used was questionnaires assessment for media experts, material experts, and the response of students who had evaluated before, through instrument test, validity test, and form. The technique of data analysis is qualitative and quantitative analysis to describe the ideas and analyzes the assessment result of material experts, media experts, and responses of a student to the book.  Result of the study and development show that math ebook development include in good category based on questionnaire Assesment by material expert with average score 62,00 from a maximum score of ideal 75. Results of questionnaire assessment by media expert include in good category based on questionnaire Assesment by material expert with average score 83,50 from maximum score of ideal 100. Whereas results of questionnaire assessment by student responses on product trials in a small class and large class include in a good category with an average score of 33.62 from a maximum score of ideal 40. The result of the study shows that flash-based math ebook development for the student of 8th grade in the system of linear equation in two variables material proper to used in the learning process.

Abstract

Learning mathematics is still dominated by the teachers and some students still assume that mathematics is a hard subject. The lack of variation in the implementation of learning mathematics can influence the results of students' mathematics learning. Fortunately, there is one way to improve the students learning outcomes which is by using Mathematics Learning CD (compact disk). The purpose of this study is to determine the learning outcomes between the students who use Mathematics learning CD with those who do not use CD. The study is done in MTs Al Furqon Sanden District Bantul. The population of this study was the seventh-grade students of MTs Al Furqon Sanden in School Year of 2015/2016, which comprises of 3 classes with a total of 64 students. The experiment class was VIIA and class VII Bas the control class that was selected by random sampling of classes. The methods of data collection using documentation and test. The research instrument is in the form of questions. The test instrument is used for validity, reliability and distinguishing features. Prerequisite test data analysis is used for Normality Test, Homogeneity Test, and Hypothesis Testing. Hypothesis test results with a significance level of 5% and 42 degrees of freedom showed that: (1) there are differences in learning outcomes of mathematics that using CD mathematics learning with the expository method.  It can be seen in  = 7.2809 and   = 2,0183 so   >  and (2) Learning mathematics using CD is more effective than learning without using Mathematics CD. Abstract

Teacher-centered learning causes passive students and can not learn independently using teaching materials. Students consider the material on the teaching materials used still abstract. A contextual approach is expected to help students understand the material because it is associated with real life. So the development of a learning module with a contextual approach helps students understand the material and learn independently. The method used is Research and Development with the steps is potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, product revision, product usage trial, and revision. The subjects of this study are teachers and students of State Junior High School 3 Depok (SMPN 3 Depok) and Tahfidzqu Junior High School. The object of research is the use of a learning module of the polyhedron material with a contextual approach. Data collection techniques used non-tests with interview sheet and questionnaire instruments, which have been validated by lecturers. Data analysis using questionnaire analysis and module feasibility analysis. The results showed that the polyhedron module with a contextual approach for students of SMP / MTs class VIII is feasible. This is based on the result of the assessment by three validators indicating that the module included in the category is very good, with a score of 135.55 for media validation and 134.67 for material validity. The student test results also show an average score of 115.
