Abstract

The concept is a crucial thing in learning activities, but the importance is not only in the concept itself, but it depends on how students can understand the concept. The lack of a student's ability to use the concepts for problem-solving causes low student learning outcomes. The purpose of this research to determine the effect of the AIR learning model (Auditory Intellectual Repetition) toward the student learning outcomes in the SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta, especially in class VIII and in Even Semester in Academic Year of 2016/2017. The population in this research was the students of class VIII A, VIII B, and VIII C SMP Negeri 1 Yogyakarta in 2016/2017, the total amounted to 103 students. Samples were taken by two classes using the Random Sampling technique for the class, and obtained class VIII B as control class and class VIII C as experiment class. Data collecting techniques used are interview and test methods. The instrument testing uses validity test, normality test, and different power test. The data analysis technique used for the prerequisite test is the normality test with Chi-Square and homogeneity test with the Barlett test formula. As for the hypothesis test using the t-test. The results of this research show that, at a significance level 5%, obtained the conclusion that (1) there is an influence between the results of learning mathematics students using the AIR learning model and students using the STAD learning model. It shows by using the result and thus  (2) learning by the AIR model can create the result of the learning better than learning by using STAD model. It shows by the result and thus .

Abstract

The research is done based on the observation that the learning process is still focused on teacher-centered so that students are less active in the learning process and the result is low. The objective of the study is to know the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament with a live learning model toward student's mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII at SMP N 2 Tempel sleman regency of odd semester in academic year 2016/2017. This research uses postest-only design. The population of this research is the student of class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tempel academic year of 2016/2017, which consists of 157 students which is divided into five classes. The sample is taken by 2 classes with a random sampling technique using a lottery, it is delivered by class VIII D as an experiment class and class VIII B as the control class. The collecting data technique uses test. The instrument of collecting data uses the student’s study result. The instrument test of collecting data uses validity, distinguishing capacity and reliability test. The technique of data analysis includes a normal test, homogeny test, then hypothesis test t. The result of the study on significant level α = 5% with df = 59 shows that: (1) there are some differences in the result of Mathematic study between the student which use learning model Teams Games Tournament than the student which use live learning model. It can be seen that  = 2,6332 and   = 2,00134 get . (2) mathematic learning uses learning model Teams Games Tournament is more effective than a live learning model toward the result of Mathematic learning. The result shows that  = 2,6332 and  = 1,6713 get .

Abstract

The use of media in learning mathematics helps students understand mathematics, but learning media is still not available. This development research aims to produce an interactive learning media mathematics with contextual teaching and learning approach in the proportion of junior high school (SMP) class VII semesters. The resulting media is tested on students' feasibility and responses based on the content and objectives, instructional quality aspects, technical quality aspects, and instructional design aspects. The ADDIE development model covers five subjects: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used are (1) assessment questionnaire by material expert, (2) questionnaire by media expert, and (3) student assessment questionnaire. This study's subjects were students of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Yogyakarta class VIIC and students of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 4 Patuk class VIIB. Learning media developed in the form of CD (Compact Disk) Interactive contains SK and KD material comparison. The material on the interactive CD comes with an exercise question and evaluation question. The media is also equipped with audio, images, and navigation quickly understood and used by students. The quality of interactive learning media is seen from material experts' assessment with an average score of 3.62 or very good. While the assessment of media experts with a score of 3.71 or in the category of Very Good. In comparison, assessing the assessment by students with an average score of 3.18 or in the category of Good. The results show that the interactive learning media of mathematics with contextual teaching and learning approach the subject of proportion SMP class VII odd semester is feasible to be used in the learning process and get a positive response from the students.

Abstract

In learning mathematics, less active participant students like tends to silence and rarely ask. Students' ability to express ideas or constructs is not visible, so their creative thinking skills have not been fully explored. The purpose of this research is to know the improvement of students' creative thinking skill with cooperative learning type scramble model in mathematic learnings on material Trigonometry HOTS oriented for the students of class X Light Vehicles Engineering (LVE)-D Muhammadiyah Vocational High School (SMK Muhammadiyah) 1 Bambanglipuro Bantul District even semester of 2017/2018. This research is a classroom action research. The subjects of this research were students of class X LVE-D, which amounted to 26 students. This research's object is the whole process of cooperative learning model type scramble to improve students' creative thinking. Research conducted two cycles of cycle I and cycle II, each c; consists of 2 meetings. Data were collected using observation methods, interviews, and field notes. The data collection instrument uses observation sheets, interview guides, and test questions. Data analysis techniques in the form of data analysis of observations, data interview, and field notes analysis, test analysis, and triangulation. The result of this research shows that learning by using cooperative type model of scramble can improve students' creative thinking skills in learning mathematics in class X LVE-D SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Bambanglipuro academic year 2017/2018. This is proven from the observation result of students' creative thinking skill in learning every cycle has increased, that is average of observation result percentage of student's creative thinking skill at cycle I 51,41% is in enough criteria, while in cycle II increase bec. In comparison, 09% reached the right criteria. Interviews showed a positive response to the students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This research was aims to know the development procedure, validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the student's worksheet by instilling mathematical creative thinking ability on junior high school student are that meets valid and practical criteria, as well to know the effectiveness of student's worksheet towards student's mathematical creative thinking ability at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Depok Sleman in the academic year 2019/2020. The types of research that were conducted the development research. The model used in this research was the ADDIE (Analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation) model. The subject in this research was student's grade VII at SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Depok Sleman, with the subject of the small-scale trials were five students, and the subject of the big-scale trials were 29 students. In this research, the data collection instruments with the validation test questionnaire for material experts and media experts, the student's response questionnaire, and the student's creative thinking test sheet. The data analysis technique used in this research was data analysis of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research outcomes based on validation test of student's worksheet include in category valid from validation of material experts with the average percentage of assessment of material expert is 4,1 with valid category ( ) and validation of media experts with percentage average was 3,8 with valid category ( ). While from and student's response questionnaire, the student's worksheet was 3,4 with practical category ( ), and from effectiveness with the percentage of classical learning completeness student was 72,4 with good category ( ). Students' worksheets by instilling mathematical creative thinking ability are valid, practical, and effective in learning.

Abstract

Insufficient teaching media cause a lack of students' interests in mathematics. Moreover, they have difficulty to understand more about statistics. Therefore, we need a teaching media for Statistics E-Modul. This research is aimed to develop teaching media, especially Statistics E-module for grade XII students of vocational high school (SMK). Furthermore, it is also aimed to know how feasible this E-module from a financial point of view and how good of students' responses to this media.  The type of this research is development research. It uses research and development. They are elaborated in some stages, such a problem identification, data collection, product, and good design, product revision, trial usage, product revision, and mass production. The subject of this research is SMK N 1 Sanden and SMK 1 Muhammadiyah Bambanglipuro. Meanwhile, the object of the study is a statistics e-module based on Edmodo with a realistic approach oriented HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) for grade XII students of vocational high school. There are two types of data. Those are qualitative and quantitative. The data collection uses interviews and questionnaires, which will be done before product development, is done. The instrument of the research is the guidelines of interview and questionnaire to rate the E-Module. The data analysis technique is a quantitative analysis that will be changed into qualitative analysis using a Likert scale.  The research result showed that the result of scoring instrument from the expert with the average score 124.7 is in the level good. The result of the research showed that the result of the scoring instrument fro the expert with the average score 91.7 is in the level very good. Moreover, the instrument of students’ responses with the average score 85.53 is in the level very good. Based on the scoring result from the expert, media expert, students' responses to the development of teaching media statistics e-module based on Edmodo with a realistic approach oriented HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill)  for grade XII students of vocational high school is feasible to apply in the learning process.

Abstract

Lack of understanding of a concept would affect student learning outcomes, especially in mathematics. That matter which led to lower student learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the differences in the ability of understanding mathematical concepts that use model-eliciting Activities and cooperative learning model of problem-solving as well as to compare the effectiveness of the model-eliciting Activities and cooperative learning model of problem-solving on the ability of understanding mathematical concepts at eleven grade of TKJ’s student in SMK Negeri 2 Depok Yogyakarta of even semester at academic year of 2016/2017. The population in this study is a class XI TKJ SMK Negeri 2 Depok Yogyakarta. Selection of the sample by means of a non-probability sampling with purposive technique, the sample selection based on objective and specific considerations. The sample in this research is class XI TKJ A as an experimental class 1 and class XI TKJ B as the experimental class 2. Of each class of samples taken 5 students for a testing-grade. The research design in this study is non-equivalent (pretest-posttest) Control-Group Design. The data collection method is a method of documentation and tests. The instrument was a matter of the description. Test data collection instruments used validity and test data analysis used reliability. The analysis of the data is the prerequisite test analysis including normality test and homogeneity test; and hypothesis testing using t-test. The result of the research on the significance level on 5% and df  = 52 indicates that: (1) There is the difference between the ability to understand mathematical concepts in learning that uses the model-eliciting activities with learning that uses the cooperative model of the problem-solving type. It can be seen that  greater than . (2) Learning mathematics students who use model-eliciting activities more effective than learning using a cooperative learning model of the problem-solving type. It can be seen that  greater than .

Abstract

Students must be active and independent in the learning process and understand the material studied in learning mathematics. The mathematical module is one of the alternative learning resources that can be used in the learning process. The research aims to develop a mathematical module of comparative material with a scientific approach for grade VII students of Junior High School (SMP / MTs) applied correctly in mathematics learning. This development research uses Research and Development (R & D) method. Such research subjects include material experts, media experts, students from 2 schools. Data collection techniques used are interviews and questionnaires. The research instruments are questionnaires, which have been reviewed. Types of data used are qualitative and quantitative data. The result of mathematics-module research and development of proportion material with a scientific approach for class VII SMP students. The results of the material feasibility test included the right criteria, with an average score of 67. The media feasibility test module media included in the right criteria with an average score of 67.67. Simultaneously, the small-class product trial stage's student response questionnaire was included in the right criteria, with an average score of 64,7. The student response questionnaire of the big-class product's trial stage includes perfect criteria, with an average score of 70,2. These results indicate that the mathematics module of comparative material with a scientific approach for grade VII students of SMP/MTs is feasible for the learning process.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence and Adversity Quotient of students in SMP N 2 Nanggulan are still relatively low due to lack of sympathy, sense of responsibility, and irritability. This is thought to result in low mathematics learning outcomes. This study aims to determine: a significant influence between emotional intelligence and adversity quotient of students in school on mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII odd semester of SMP N 2 Nanggulan, Kulon Progo Regency 2015/2016 academic year. The population in this study were students of class VIII SMP N 2 Nanggulan, Kulon Progo Regency in the academic year 2015/2016, consisting of classes VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, totaling 96 students. Class VIII A as a trial class, Samples taken from class VIII B as experimental class 1 and class VIII C as experimental class 2. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling techniques. Data collection techniques using non-test test methods. Data collection instruments in the form of questionnaires and multiple-choice questions. The data collection instrument test uses a validity test, a reliability test, and a different power test. The data analysis technique used is the prerequisite test analysis including normality test and homogeneity test, followed by hypothesis testing using 2x2 Factorial Design. Finally, use the t-test to compare the high and low average of each instrument. The results showed that: (1) there was an influence of emotional intelligence on mathematics learning outcomes, evidenced by = 4,859439652 ≥   =4, 0039 at a significant level of 5%, db: V1 = 1 and V2 = 59, (2) there is an effect of adversity quotient on mathematics learning outcomes, evidenced by   = 6,265821956 ≥   =4,0039 at a significant level of 5%, db: V1 = 1 and V2 = 59, (3) there is an influence of emotional intelligence and adversity quotient on mathematics learning outcomes, evidenced by = 4,528768652 ≥  = 4,0039 at a significant level of 5%, db: V1 = 1 and V2 = 59. Then from the results of Tukey's HSD test showed that the third treatment (low emotional intelligence and high adversity quotient) which is the lowest average learning outcomes.

Abstract

The use of materials that are insufficient to cause the learning process centered on the teacher. It causes low student independence and liveliness in building his own, becomes a factor it needs alternative materials that can facilitate the student's independent study. Math algebra material on module into alternative materials that can be used by students. This research aims to develop a mathematical module and test the feasibility of the mathematics modules. The research design used, namely with the stages of Research and Development potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, revision of the design, product testing, product testing, revisions, and revision of the product. The subject of research is the study of the expert product, i.e., lecture of mathematics, mathematics teacher, and students. Types of data used, i.e., qualitative and quantitative data. Engineering data collection using a non-test with instruments in the form of sheets of interview and question form. With test instruments through the validation and analysis of data using lecturer analysis question form and analysis of the feasibility of a mathematical module. Based on the results of the study, the feasibility of mathematical module by material obtained an average score of 151 with the criteria of very good, the eligibility module by media expert gained an average of 167.33 criteria very good, and the now the response of students with an average of 130.7 and 127 with the criteria of very good. So, the mathematical content module algebra worth for use in learning.
