Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic made all teaching and learning processes at SMK YAF-Banjar conducted online, to prevent the widespread transmission of Virus-COVID-19. Students continue to learn at home according to the schedule of lessons from school. The competency test of students' machine design drawings conducted by the school is done online so that the competencies of students in grade 12 meet the educational standards and requirements for graduating students to face the workforce. The purpose of the online competency test is to test students' abilities in terms of machine image design. The method used in the student competency test is to contact every student who studies at SMK YAF. The results and discussion in this competency test the results carried out have not been maximized, due to signal constraints where students live, then from the online competency test 3 criteria are communicated including, 1) knowledge, 2) skills, 3) attitude. From the results of the assessment of knowledge and skills the average value is 75. From this value it must still be improved in terms of knowledge and skills. In the knowledge, criteria is an understanding of SOP and applying quality standards of work, while for skills are the results, including 3D arrangement drawings, detailed drawings of 2D components, projections and cuts, grading, linear and geometrical tolerances, markings of work and roughness prices.

Abstract

This study purposed to analyse the effects of (1) innovation on competitive advantage; (2) innovation on creativity, (3) creativity on competitive advantage The analysis used quantitative analysis, and as a descriptive analysis as well as an inferential statistics (SEM-PLS= Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Square). 55 respondents has been taken from the population of Batik Craft in East Java. This study proved the interesting findings that the diversity in samples appropriate with the diversity in population if eliminated: (1) product and process indicators of innovation; (2) novelty and elaboration indicators of creativity; and (3) competitive price, rarely found and not easy to be replaced indicators of competitive advantage. Therefore the rest of indicator is organizational innovation for innovation variable; resolution indocator for creativity variable; and 2 indicators for competitive advantage variable are: uniqueness and difficult to imitate. The result of probability value (Tstatistic) through bootstrapping of SmartPLS characteristic demonstrated the significance influence of (1) innovation on competitive advantage; (2) innovation on creativity, (3) creativity on competitive advantage. The result also found that the influence of mediation category of the relationship innovation to competitive advantage through creativity as mediator in complementary partial innovation on competitive advantage.

Abstract

Employability skills for students are believed to reduce the mismatch between the supply of vocational high school graduates and the demand of job vacancy from industry. For more than three centuries, the gap between the vocational high school and the workplace has become people’s concern. It seems that this issue will not end in the near future, rather will be more interesting to be studied because of the complexity of the relationship between the two sectors. The objective of this study, therefore, is to discover of how well employability skills is adopted in the school level curriculum (KTSP) of vocational high schools in Indonesia. To achieve the research’s objective, the content analysis to the curriculum was applied. The analysis of KTSP in the subject of entrepreneurship (ENT) and the computer and information management (KKPI) discovers the limited concern and the incomprehensive areas of employability skills adopted. The research findings demand the government to improve the content of employability skills in the curriculum, especially in dealing with the high unemployment rate of vocational high school graduates.

Abstract

There are at least two impacts of Covid-19, mental trauma due to the loss of a loved family member and the decline of livelihoods. However, post-pandemic, life must go on. Families left behind need trauma healing, while those who have run aground must generate new economic opportunities. A service idea was rolled out in the form of training on freshwater crayfish cultivation which has potential and has prospective economic value. The activity is intended for sixbee community partners in the form of training on the introduction and practice of freshwater crayfish cultivation using the aquarium method. The results show that this activity has succeeded in providing benefits to partners through facilitation of trauma healing and socialization of red claw freshwater crayfish cultivation as a new economic opportunity after Covid-19.

Abstract

In this paper, we present a comprehensive study aimed at enhancing the cultivation of ginger plants through the integration of smart farming technology. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is an essential crop in the agriculture-based economy of Indonesia, providing numerous health benefits and culinary applications. However, traditional farming methods often face challenges such as inefficiencies, resource wastage, and unpredictable yields. The research conducted in Padamulya Ciamis Village seeks to address these issues by harnessing the potential of smart farming technology. The study involves the implementation of cutting-edge agricultural tools, including Internet of Things (IoT) devices, sensor networks, and data analytics. By utilizing these advancements, the project aims to optimize the cultivation process, ensure sustainable resource management, and enhance overall productivity. The methodology of the research encompasses a mix of experimental trials, data collection, and analysis. Smart sensors are deployed to monitor critical variables such as soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and light intensity, enabling farmers to gain real-time insights into their ginger fields. The collected data is processed using machine learning algorithms, providing predictive models and personalized recommendations for cultivation practices. The results of this study demonstrate promising advancements in ginger farming practices. By implementing smart farming technology, farmers in Padamulya Ciamis Village experience optimized irrigation schedules, precise nutrient delivery, and timely pest control measures, leading to increased crop yields and improved quality. Furthermore, resource utilization efficiency is enhanced, minimizing water and fertilizer wastage, contributing to the sustainable and eco-friendly management of ginger plantations. Beyond its local implications, this research showcases the potential of smart farming technology as a transformative force in agriculture. The findings serve as a foundation for scaling up similar projects in other regions of Indonesia and beyond, contributing to the nation's agricultural modernization and food security. Finally, the development of smart farming technology on ginger plants in Padamulya Ciamis Village presents a promising pathway towards sustainable and efficient agricultural practices. By combining traditional farming knowledge with cutting-edge technology, this study exemplifies how smart farming can elevate crop cultivation, empower farmers, and foster rural development in Indonesia.
