Abstract

In the fourth revolution or 4.0 era, known as the digital revolution, there have been many rapid and competitive changes. This change has a huge impact on the world of education, one of which is in elementary school. However, problems often arise during learning activities in the classroom, one of which is the lack of interest in reading or literacy in students with special needs (PDBK). By looking at conditions like this, digital literacy can solve this problem. This study examines the exploration of TPACK in IPAS subjects in optimizing the digital literacy of students with special needs. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method using three data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that (1) the technologies used in social studies learning for students with special needs are an interactive map, E-comic, and Google Classroom, (2) the implementation of TPACK for students with special needs, and (3) the advantages of applying digital platforms to students with special needs indicate the increase of the motivation and involvement of students in the learning process. The research results are expected to contribute to the development of technology that is more effective and inclusive for students with special needs. This research can also be a reference for educators in designing learning that is more suitable for students with special needs.

Abstract

The independent curriculum demands that teachers accommodate students' diverse learning characteristics. Differentiated learning provides a framework for meeting these varied needs, with the effective use of instructional media playing a crucial role. PowerPoint presentations and videos are frequently chosen by teachers to support differentiated learning due to their adaptability and broad accessibility. This qualitative descriptive study explores teachers’ preferences in selecting PowerPoint and video as instructional media for differentiated learning. Data were collected through interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis process involved four stages: data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings indicate that teachers prefer PowerPoint and video media based on several key factors: alignment with learning objectives, compatibility with student characteristics, ease of use, interactivity, effectiveness in content delivery, accessibility, flexibility, cost-efficiency, and compatibility with available technology and infrastructure. The study reveals that both media types are valued for their ability to enhance differentiated instruction by addressing diverse student needs. However, the choice of media is significantly influenced by contextual factors such as school infrastructure and teacher familiarity with technology. This study concludes that teachers consider a range of practical and pedagogical factors when selecting PowerPoint and video media to support differentiated learning. Future research should explore the impact of these media on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the integration of multicultural learning strategies and differentiated instruction in strengthening the global diversity dimension within the Pancasila Student Profile at the elementary school level. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to provide an in-depth description of learning processes and strategies in elementary school settings. The study was conducted at four public elementary schools in the Samarinda Ulu District over a period of two months, with the primary participants comprising fourth-grade teachers and students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and were analyzed thematically. Grounded in James Banks’ theory of multicultural education, this study covers four dimensions: content integration, knowledge construction, prejudice reduction, and equity pedagogy. The findings indicate that the integration of local and national cultural content plays the most significant role in fostering students’ global diversity awareness. Differentiated instruction, which involves variations in content, process, and product, promotes inclusivity by allowing diverse expressions of student identity and learning styles. However, challenges remain within the equity pedagogy dimension due to limited learning resources and teacher readiness. Overall, the combination of these two approaches proves effective in developing students’ tolerant, empathetic, and globally minded character.
