Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sense of school belonging and subjective well being in MTs students who live in boarding schools. This research uses quantitative methods. The subjects in this study were MTs students who lived in boarding school X with a sample size of 118 students. The data collection technique was a questionnaire. The research instruments used were the PSSM scale which had been modified in the boarding school setting and the subjective well-being scale. Hypothesis testing used in data analysis techniques is product moment correlation which produces a correlation coefficient value of 0.303. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant and unidirectional relationship between sense of school belonging and subjective well-being in MTs students who live in boarding schools. Other findings in this study indicate that the level of sense of school belonging and subjective well-being in MTs students in boarding school X is included in the moderate category.

Abstract

Penggunaan media sosial seperti Instagram dan TikTok pada dewasa awal mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan beberapa tahun terakhir. Penelitian terdahulu menemukan peningkatan penggunaan media sosial berkaitan dengan sejumlah gangguan mental. Namun, sejumlah penelitian juga menemukan penggunaan media sosial dapat meningkatkan kebahagiaan dan kesejahteraan individu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologis untuk mengeksplorasi penggunaan media sosial di waktu luang dan subjective well-being pada dewasa awal. Hasil analisis terhadap wawancara semi-terstruktur mengungkapkan sejumlah tema esensial yang dapat dipandang mendukung subjective well-being. Partisipan mengungkapkan penggunaan media sosial di waktu luang meningkatkan kebahagiaan dan membuat mereka merasa terpenuhi. Perasaan bosan dan kosong menjadi pemicu utama penggunaan media sosial di waktu luang. Peneliti berpendapat dewasa awal akan mendapatkan manfaat dari pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai penggunaan media sosial di waktu luang dan implikasinya terhadap subjective well-being dewasa awal.

Abstract

Massive Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game (MMORPG) merupakan suatu lingkungan virtual yang menjadi dunia baru bagi suatu individu. Identitas sosial memiliki pengaruh yang besar terhadap perspektif, perilaku, dan sikap suatu individu, khususnya bagi remaja 18-22 tahun yang masih mencari jati dirinya. Arti identitas sosial bagi suatu individu masih belum banyak ditelusuri oleh peneliti-peneliti secara mendalam. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali identitas sosial yang ada pada remaja pemain MMORPG di Surabaya. Penelitian ini mempunya lima subjek dan pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah intepretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) dengan berdasarkan Teori Identitas Sosial Versi Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menemukan tema-tema yang muncul secara berpola pada subjek, yaitu identifikasi sebagai pemain, terpengaruhnya perilaku, emosi saat bermain, hubungan interpersonal dengan pemain lain, dan reaksi terhadap opini eksternal.

Abstract

Family is a place where children get affection and develop. In order to grow well, children need affection from their mother and father. In reality, there are families that do not get the role of father, which is called fatherless. The condition of fatherless has an impact on themself. In order for the impact not interfere with their activities, children need to make various efforts called coping strategies. To get a adaptive coping strategy, it is necessary to have supportive social support. This study is a qualitative research conducted on two adolescents and the goal is to find out how the role of social support with coping mechanisms that arise in children who experience fatherlessness. The result of this study was that participants carried out emotion-focused coping with a lot of influence by social support.

Abstract

Content about beauty standards on various timelines makes beauty standards more entrenched in society. Women who do not reach these standards receive body shaming that has a negative impact. Coping strategy is forgiveness. This study aims to determine forgiveness in female survivors of body shaming. This study uses a correlational quantitative method with descriptive research methods. The sample in this study amounted to 91 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling, with the criteria of UNESA psychology students, aged 18–25, had experienced body shaming. Data collection using a questionnaire. The instrument used was the Transgression Related Interpersonal Motivations (TRIM-18) scale. Data analysis used descriptive statistics with percentage techniques. The results showed that the level of forgiveness of female body shaming survivors was mostly in the moderate category. Furthermore, the aspects of avoidant motivation, revenge motivation, and benevolence motivation are in the moderate category.

Abstract

One of the challenges faced by teachers in inclusion schools is directing students according to students' interests and talents. This challenge has an impact on teachers' reluctance to put in more effort to help students with disabilities find appropriate talents and interests. This research is a descriptive quantitative research, which aims to change the attitude of inclusive school teachers using a typology approach to student work interests. The approach used is a typology of work interests developed from Holland's vocational-personality theory. This research was carried out on teachers in one of the private high school inclusive schools in Surabaya. The results showed a change in teachers' attitudes towards students with disabilities as shown by the desire to learn and apply new things that can help students with disabilities.

Abstract

Women in interracial marriages tend to face more differences than women in same-race marriages. The differences require women to adjust themselves more. This research aims to examine the process of self-adjustment done by women in interracial marriages. The research approach used was case study. Data was collected using semi-structured interviews to two participants and four significant others. Through the research, it was revealed that the self-adjustment took four forms which were adjustment to their husband, sexual adjustment, financial adjustment, and adjustment to their husband’s family. The self-adjustment was supported by two main factors which were environment and religiosity.
