Abstract

Several areas in Bengkulu City are affected by floods every year; one of the worst is the Sungai Serut sub-district. The existence of a river that stretches along Sungai Serut also plays a role in floods over the Bengkulu area. Furthermore, this study to see the priority area over this district is still limited. Mapping flood areas is one way to provide information, especially for decision-makers in flood control using geographic information systems. Our research aims to map flood vulnerability areas based on land height, slope, and river buffer by weighting these criteria. This thematic map is the result of overlaying several maps according to the flood vulnerability criteria. The results of this study indicate that Sungai Serut is an area with "Very Vulnerable" and "Vulnerable" levels of flood vulnerability. The story of flood vulnerability is dominated by gently sloping contours, with land elevation levels mostly below 20 m above sea level. In addition, the thing that exacerbates the potential for flood vulnerability is the existence of the river that runs along the Sungai Serut sub-district.

Abstract

Kulit ketela pohon dan cangkang buah karet dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku briket. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui suhu pengeringan terbaik terhadap briket dan perbaningan bahan campuran kulit ketela pohon dan cangkang buah karet terhadap nilai kadar air, kerapatan, kadar abu, kadar zat menguap, kadar karbon dan nilai kalor. Bahan briket pada penelitian ini adalah kulit ketela pohon dan cangkang buah karetdengan perekat tepung kanji dan buat pada temperatur pemanasan 1000C, 2000C dan 2500C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu yang terbaik pada pembuatan briket ini terdapat pada suhu 2500C dan campuran yang terbaik terdapat pada komposisi campuran 25% cangkang buah karet dan 75% kulit ketela pohon. Kadar air yg dihasilkan pun yang paling rendah yaitu 7,10%, dan kadar karbon pun paling tertinggi yaitu 45,98% dan memiliki nilai kalor tertinggi yaitu sebesar 6901,451Kal/g.

Abstract

This research is about making a prototype of four blades savonius wind turbine as a learning media for Energy Conversion in the Mechanical Engineering Department, Bangka Belitung University. The making of this learning media is due to the limitations of student practicum facilities to support the continuity of practical and conducive lectures. The prototype was made with small dimensions, namely a frame of 0.75m x 1.5m and a turbine blade diameter of 0.15x0.3m. A fan-assisted the study as a wind energy generator. Wind speed variations carried out at three rates following the wind speed generated by the fan. The rate of wind speed measured using an anemometer and the rotation using a tachometer. The current and voltage are measured using a multitester. Turbine blades are varied with 4 blades with three-blade profile models, namely U, L, and S. Research, shows that wind speed influences turbine performance. The higher the wind speed, the higher the rotor's rotation, and so the resulting power. The best profile is obtained from the L model, which reaches 177.63 rpm with 6.35 watts of power.

Abstract

Abstrac Tirta Tapta Pemali Hot Spring which is one of the natural tourism assets in the village of Pemali, Pemali Regency, about 20 km from Sungailiat City. One source of energy that can be used to dry clothes in Pemali attractions is a natural hot spring, while the volume of air that comes out increases. Clothes dryer is a device / machine that functions to dry clothes with certain heat sources. This research makes clothes dryer is a model (prototype) tool / machine that uses a heat source with the same temperature as the temperature of the hot air baths. The hot water used is likened to hot air in the Tirta Tapta Pemali bath, which is around ± 40oC. Research carried out by flowing hot air into the copper pipe in the drying chamber, the heat generated will be driven by the wind from the blower to be used. Variations in this study are the flow of water of 2.4 - 3 liters / minute, 5.4 - 6 liters / minute, and 10.9 - 11.5 liters / minute. The parameters issued are how much the mass of clothing and the temperature in the drying room every 5 minutes. 7 pieces of clothing, namely 293.3 minutes with water discharge 10.9 -11.5 liters / minute with the highest average room temperature of 42.33 oC Keywords : dryer, hot water, copper

Abstract

Penelitian ini tentang pemanfaatan kulit pisang kepok menjadi bubuk minuman kopi. Kulit pisang ini umumnya dihaluskan dengan menggunakan blender, namun kelemahannya adalah kapasitas produksinya lebih rendah, sehingga untuk memproduksi dalam jumlah banyak harus dilakukan proses berulang. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka dibuatlah sebuah mesin penghalus kulit pisang hingga menjadi bubuk dengan tingkat kehalusan bubuk kopi pada umumnya. Kulit pisang yang digunakan yaitu kulit pisang kepok matang. Proses penghalusan kulit pisang menggunakan mesin dengan menggunakan motor listrik sebesar ½ HP, dengan putaran pada poros penghalus yaitu 1050 rpm. Hasil pengujian dengan bahan uji dengan massa 500 gram yaitu dalam waktu 1 menit menghasilkan 215 gram, waktu 2 menit menghasilkan 225,7 gram, waktu 3 menit menghasilkan 250,7 gram.

Abstract

This research is a design of a potato cutting machine. The ultimate goal of making the machine is the production of potato cubes. In planning the machine will be processed to produce stick-shaped potato pieces. The machine design is made with dimensions of 660 mm x 800 mm x 710 mm using an electric motor ½ Hp. The system of lowering the rotation uses a pully and belt 1: 2 and continued with a gearbox with a ratio of 1:40, the way the engine works is to rotate the crankshaft to move the piston / potato suppressor with a rotation of 17.5 Rpm. The study was conducted 3 times with 1000 grams of potatoes with an average yield of 702 grams of good cut, 27 grams unsuccessful, 271 grams behind. The production capacity of this stick-shaped potato cutting machine is capable of cutting as much as 20.29 kg / hour with a machine production efficiency of 70.02%.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Proses pengupasan kulit bawang putih dapat dilakukan dengan cara manual atau menggunakan mesin. Pada mesin pengupas kulit bawang putih terdahulu menggunakan motor listrik 0,5 hp, dimensi 750 mm x 500 mm x 750 mm, menggunakan pulley dan belt untuk mereduksi putaran menjadi 100 rpm. Hasil penelitian terdahulu diperoleh kapasitas produksi mesin 2,06 kg/jam dan efisiensi produksi mesin 86%. Kekurangan mesin terdahulu antara lain : dimensi tabung pengupas yang kecil hanya efektif untuk 1000 gram, sering terjadi slip pada pulley, kecepatan putaran pada poros pengupas tidak dapat diubah-ubah. Modifikasi dilakukan pada bagian-bagian mesin antara lain: memperbesar dimensi tabung pengupas, memvariasikan tabung pengupas, menggunakan gearbox untuk mentransimisi putaran, menggunakan daya 0,25 hp, dan menambah dimmer sebagai pengontrol putaran. Mesin yang dimodifikasi berdimensi 970 mm x 500 mm x 800 mm dan kecepatan putaran tabung pengupas 120 rpm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, kapasitas produksi mesin untuk tipe tabung pengupas tanpa pengaduk 2,88 kg/jam dengan efisiensi produksi mesin adalah 58,6% . Kapasitas produksi mesin untuk tipe tabung dengan karet pengaduk adalah 1,2198 kg/jam, efisiensi produksi mesinnya adalah 47%. ABSTRACT The process of peeling garlic skin can be done manually or using a machine. In the previous garlic peeler machine using a 0.5 hp electric motor, dimensions of 750 mm x 500 mm x 750 mm, using a pulley and belt to reduce rotation to 100 rpm. The results of previous studies obtained a machine production capacity of 2.06 kg/hour and a machine production efficiency of 86%. Disadvantages of previous machines include: the dimensions of the peeler tube are small, only effective for 1000 grams, slips occur frequently on the pulley, the rotational speed of the peeler shaft cannot be changed. Modifications were made to the engine parts, including: increasing the dimensions of the stripper tube, varying the stripper tube, using a gearbox to transmit rotation, using 0.25 hp of power, and adding a dimmer to control the rotation. The modified engine has dimensions of 970 mm x 500 mm x 800 mm and the peeler tube rotation speed is 120 rpm. The results showed that the machine's production capacity for the peeler tube type without agitator was 2.88 kg/hour with the machine's production efficiency of 58.6%. The machine's production capacity for tube type with rubber stirrer is 1.2198 kg/hour, the machine's production efficiency is 47%.

Abstract

This research to build a pattern recognition hijaiyah letters handwriting application. In this offline pattern recognition research, a digital handwriting input is captured by a scanner. In this research we try to recognize digital handwriting based on feature classification using Backpropagation Neural Network and Fuzzy Feature Extraction method for feature extraction. This application is built using Matlab language programming and designed using Data Flow Diagram (DFD). Meanwhile the system development life cycle method that used is Waterfall. Experiments were performed on a single Hijaiyah letters isolated from 900 samples gave results of generalization ability of artificial neural networks for 96.11% and the ability to generalize the ability of Neural Network memorization for 98.33%.

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian IbM adalah mendeskripsikan: (1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran tematik menggunakan media berbasis ICT, (2) sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan siswa tentang peduli lingkungan. Subjek kegiatan adalah guru dan siswa kelas V SDN 04 dan 20 Kota Bengkulu tahun 2016/2017. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan melalui dua cara yaitu pembelajaran in-door berbasis ICT dan out-door di Taman Satwa Kota Bengkulu. Teknik pengumpulan data siswa tentang lingkungan hidup menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes. Teknik analisis data secara kualitatif yaitu menggunakan persentase. Simpulan dari kegiatan adalah: (1) pelaksanaan pembelajaran tematik menggunakan media berbasis ICT secara in-door termasuk kategori sangat baik sedangkan yang secara out-door dengan kategori baik, dan (2) Pelaksanaan pembelajaran tematik terintegrasi PLH dan pelestarian biodiversity dapat: (a) mengembangkan sikap social siswa yaitu peduli lingkungan, disiplin, tanggungjawab, dan kreatif. (b) Pengetahuan siswa tentang kehidupan hewan karnivora, herbivora, dan omnivora. (c) Keterampilan siswa membuat teks penjelasan tentang hewan karnivora, herbivora, dan omnivora, mengisi tabel, membuat laporan pengamatan, dan membuat gambar dengan terampil (garis, bentuk dan warna).  Kata kunci: pembelajaran tematik, in-door dan out-door, berbasis ICT

Abstract

This research aims to build a geographic information system that can map the level of flood-prone areas around Sub-DAS Bengkulu. To determine the flood prone areas are used four (4) parameters i.e. riverbank, high ground class, rainfall and settlement using Simple Additive Weighting method and using Trend Non Linier forecasting method. The resulting outer area of the flood map is calculated from The Simple Additive weightingmethod. For five (5) years, from 2014 – 2018 there are 267 data entering intermediate clustering , 477 of data entering low clustering and the latter there are 35 data that enters high clustering . In addition, there is also an external result of prediction Chart of the highest Trend Non Linier in 2021 of 2.3809, in 2022 for 3.14841, in 2023 for 4.04413, in 2024 for 5.06803, and in 2025 for 6.22014.
