Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to analyze the development model of Indonesian language teaching materials for foreign speakers and (2) combine the existing models. The analysis of this theory based on the results of research and development has been undertaken by BIPA IPB. The research had been conducted from August 2015 to Februrai 2017. Eight models were the research objects to analyze, namely a) ADDIE models, b) Dick, Carey, and Carey models, c) Borg and Gall models, d) ASSURE models, Kemp models, f) Tomlinson models, g) Brown models, and h) Jolly and Bolitho models.The research result shows models that have been modified in three main parts, namely 1) preparation, 2) planning, and 3) development-evaluation. These three parts can be broken down into 17 sections, such as 1) curriculum, 2) needs analysis, 3) syllabus, 4) text collection, 5) text selection, 6) material creation, 7) draft I, 8) preparation of test questions, 9) one to one test, 10) revision I , 11) draft II, 12) small group trial, 13) revision II, 14) draft III, 15) effectiveness test, 16) revision III, and 17) final product. The conclusion is that each model has its advantages and disadvantages. The development of Indonesian language teaching material models for foreign speakers can be undertaken by combining development research models that have been formulated by experts.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis model pengembangan materi ajar bahasa Indonesia bagi penutur asing dan mengombinasikan model-model yang ada. Analisis teori ini berdasarkan hasil  penelitian dan pengembangan yang telah dilakukan di BIPA IPB. Penelitian dilakukan sejak Agustus 2015--Februari 2017.  Objek yang dianalisis ada delapan model: a)  model ADDIE, b) model Dick, Carey, dan Carey, c) model Borg dan Gall, d) model ASSURE, e) model Kemp, f) Tomlinson, g) Brown, dan h) Jolly dan Bolitho. Hasilnya, dari delapan model yang dianalisis, dapat dirumuskan model yang telah dimodifikasi. Ada tiga bagian utamanya, yaitu 1) persiapan, 2) perencanaan, dan 3) pengembangan-evaluasi. Dari 3 bagian itu dapat diuraikan menjadi 17 bagian: 1) kurikulum, 2) analisis kebutuhan, 3) silabus, 4) pengumpulan teks, 5) pemilahan teks, 6) pengkreasian materi, 7) draf I, 8) penyusunan soal tes, 9) uji one to one, 10) revisi I, 11) draf II, 12) uji coba kelompok kecil, 13) revisi II, 14) draf III, 15) uji efektivitas, 16) revisi III, dan 17) produk final. Simpulannya adalah setiap model itu memiliki kelebih dan kekurangan. Pengembangan model materi ajar bahasa Indonesia bagi penutur asing dapat dilakukan dengan mengombinasikan model-model penelitian pengembangan yang sudah dirumuskan para pakar.

Abstract

The aim of this study analyzed the need for character-filled texts in Indonesian language teaching materials in IPB and identify other character values needed. The method is R & D with the concepts of Dick and Carey and Borg and Gall. The result,  the value of characters sourced from the heart: obedient rules, honesty and order, religious and pious, fair, orderly, responsible, and empathetic; comes from though: creative, intelligent, critical, innovative and oriented ipteks; sourced from kinesthetic: persistent, friendly, cheerful, clean, sportive, and cooperative; sourced from taste, proud to use the Indonesian language, love the homeland, and nationalist. Proposed, there is additional value of confident and anticorruption character. Hasilnya,  nilai karakter yang bersumber dari olah hati taat aturan, kejujuran dan ketertiban, beriman dan bertaqwa, adil, tertib,  bertanggung jawab, dan  berempati; bersumber dari olah pikir kreatif, cerdas, kritis, inovatif dan  berorientasi ipteks; bersumber dari olah raga gigih, bersahabat, ceria, bersih, sportif, dan kooperatif; bersumber dari olah rasa-karsa, bangga  menggunakan bahasa Indonesia, cinta tanah air, dan nasionalis. Usulan, ada tambahan nilai karakter percaya diri dan antikorupsi. Kesimpulan, perlu dikembangkan materi ajar bahasa Indonesia yang memuat nilai-nilai karakter bangsa.Kata kunci: analisis kebutuhan, materi ajar bahasa indonesia, nilai-nilai karakter

Abstract

There are a few worries from parents and Indonesian linguists in Indonesia when they notice that there are so many young people speak foreign language (especially English) that it will eliminate Indonesian language permanently. In addition, parents and linguists worry that young Indonesian people will loose their nationalism character. According to Whorf (1952), the linguistic system of language is not merely a reproducing instrument for voicing ideas but rather is itself the shaper of ideas, the program and guide for  the individual’s mental activity. Whorf’s statement will strengthen the worry of loosing nationalism character because this will give opportunity to people to make new language replacing Indonesian language. This happens because young people always switch back and forth between Indonesian and English formally and informally. If this keeps continuing,  young Indonesian people will forget their culture for good. It is, therefore, the Indonesian goverment has given first language since they were in elementary level until university level in order to overcome the lose of culture. However, how  the first language education is given to them to build nationalism charcter is effective. Thus, Is it true that the character of nationalism young Indonesian people has faded? For example, in this paper,  the writers will describe the IPB (Bogor Agriculture University) students  expression of their nationalism.  So,  in this paper, the writers will show some poems taken from IPB students to indicate their nationalism character.   Keywords: nasionalism, character, students

Abstract

AbstrakTujuan pembelajaran bahasa akan berhasil jika pembelajaran itu menyenangkan bagi pemelajar. Untuk mengetahui pembelajaran bahasa yang menyenangkan bagi pemelajar adalah dengan melakukan evaluasi pembelajaran dari perspektif pemelajar. Tujuan penulisan ini adalah mendeksripsikan bentuk pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia bagi penutur asing (BIPA) yang menyenangkan bagi pemelajar   ACICIS 'Agriculture Professional Practicum (APP) 2019. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori evaluasi dan aspek evaluasi dalam pembelajaran bahasa serta konsep pembelajaran yang menyenangkan. Sementara itu, penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, kuesioner, dan wawancara. Jumlah responden 10 orang pemelajar dan informan satu orang, koordinator ACICIS IPB. Hasilnya, pembelajaran yang menyenangkan bagi pemelajar adalah adanya kejelasan tujuan pembelajaran; tema-tema yang menarik, seperti pertanian; teks, tugas, materi tata bahasa, dan budaya yang memotivasi dengan tidak menyulitkan pemelajar; dan teknik mengajar pengajar yang menyenangkan. Kesimpulan, pembelajaran bahasa asing haruslah tidak mempesulit pemelajar, namun harus menyenangkan sehingga meningkatkan motivasi belajar.

Abstract

The general purpose of this paper was to describe the character education in families through language. The specific purposes were 1) the definition of character; 2) the definition of education; 3) character education; 4) family definition; 5) how to instill character education through language education in the family. Character is a collection of good behavior of a human. Child education in the family is done through parenting by the parents. The education of characters in the family through the language can be done with the selection of diction in communication. The elderly can choose the right diction in accordance with the purpose of communication. Dies selected by parents will vary according to emotion. The use of language is started from early childhood until he becomes an adult.

Abstract

Sekolah dasar (SD) di Indonesia, khususnya di Bogor, Jawa Barat, diberikan mata pelajaran pendidikan dua bahasa: Indonesia dan bahasa ibu atau daerah (bahasa Sunda). Akan tetapi, dari pengamatan sementara pengajaran dwibahasa menimbulkan berbagai kendala. Sehubungan dengan hal itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran dwibahasa tersebut di sekolah dasar, 2) mendeskripsikan kendala yang dialami guru dalam proses pembelajaran, dan 3) mendeskripsikan harapan para guru mengenai kegiatan pembelajaran dwibahasa tersebut. Populasi penelitian ini adalah guru SD di Bogor. Sampel penelitian 47 guru kelas di enam SD di Bogor. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner. Hasil penelitian adalah 1) untuk proses pengajaran: a) bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Sunda di SD diajarkan oleh guru kelas, b) bahasa pengantar dalam pembelajaran bahasa Sunda tidak menggunakan bahasa tersebut, tetapi menggunakan bahasa Indonesia, c) sarana pembelajaran bahasa di SD kurang memadai dan hanya memiliki buku panduan, dan d) siswa lebih banyak menggunakan bahasa Indonesia dalam proses pembelajaran kedua bahasa itu; 2) kendala yang dihadapi guru adalah a) mereka tidak mendapatkan perhatian yang serius dari sekolah dan pemerintah, dalam upaya peningkatan kemampuan, b) guru yang mengajarkan bahasa Sunda masih kurang keterampilan berbahasa Sunda, dan c) keterampilan berbahasa Sunda guru yang mengajarkan bahasa Sunda masih kurang, khususnya guru yang tidak berbahasa ibu bahasa Sunda, 3) harapan mereka adanya perhatian serius dari pemerintah terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Sunda dan mata pelajaran ini tidak dihapus.

Abstract

When playing, children will communicate to one another. They use language when communicating with their interlocutors. In this sense, this study was aimed at analyzing types of expressive illocutionary speech acts produced by children to communicate when playing. Ethnographic communication method was employed in this research done at Klender National Residence, East Jakarta. The data collecting technique was observation aimed to take down notes the children’s speech acts when playing football, in particular. The obtained data were then analyzed by using matching method. Meanwhile, this research employed Schiffrin’s speech acts theory. The findings revealed that in the distribution of the use of expressive speech acts in the children’s dialogues when playing football were identified six pairs of speech. From the six pairs, only two types of expressive speech acts were identified, while the other three were none. The produced expressive speech acts are 1) blaming expression in five pairs (83,3%) and 2) pardoning expression in one pairs (16,7%). On the other hand, the unidentified types of expressive speech acts are 1) thanking, 2) congratulating, 3) praising and 4) condoling, 5) welcoming, 6) criticising,  7) complaining,  dan 8)  flattering. In conclusion, the children used expressive illocutionary speech acts more with blaming expression than those with pardoning, thanking, congratulating, praising and  condoling. So, their communicative language tends to involve blaming expressions. AbstrakSaat bermain, anak-anak akan berkomunikasi sesamanya. Mereka menggunakan bahasa saat berkomunikasi dengan mitra tutur.  Sehubungan dengan hal itu, tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah menganalisis jenis tindak tutur illokusioner ekspresif yang dihasilkan anak-anak untuk berkomunikasi saat bermain. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode etnografi komunikasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Perumnas Klender, Jakarta Timur. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi. Observasi bertujuan mencatat tuturan-tuturan anak-anak saat bermain bola. Teknik analisi data,data yang sudah terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan metode padan. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori tindak tutur yang dikemukan Schiffrin. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh data bahwa distribusi penggunaan tindak tutur ekspresif  dalam dialog anak-anak saat bermain bola, dapat diidentifikasi 6 pasang ujaran.  Dari enam pasang ujaran, hanya ada dua jenis ujaran ekspresif, sedangkan tiga jenis ujaran ekspresif lainnya tidak ada.Tindak tutur yang dihasilkan itu adalah 1) tindak tutur ekspresif menyalahkan berjumlah 5 pasangan ujaran  (83,3 %) dan 2) tindak tutur ekspresif  meminta maaf 1 pasangan ujaran (16,7 %).  Sebaliknya, tindak tutur ekspresif yang tidak dipergunakan 1) berterima kasih, 2) memberi selamat, 3) memuji, 4) belangsung kawa, 5) menyambut, 6) mengkritik, 7)  mengeluh,  dan 8) menyanjung. Kesimpulannya adalah dalam bermain, anak-anak lebih banyak menggunakan tindak tutur ilokusi ekspresif  menyalahkan jika dibadingkan dengan tindak tutur  meminta maaf, berterima kasih, memberi selamat, memuji, belangsung kawa, menyambut, mengkritik, mengeluh, dan menyanjung. Jadi, bahasa mereka dalam berkomunikasi cenderung menyalahkan.

Abstract

The transition of face-to-face learning to online in a short time due to the Covid-19 pandemic is certainly not easy, both for teachers and for students. In this regard, the purpose of this paper is to explain 1) an overview of BIPA learning before and at the beginning of Covid-19; 2) learners' assessment of the ease, constraints of online learning, and their comparison with face-to-face; 3) learners' written opinion regarding online and face-to-face learning. This research is a qualitative descriptive design. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires. As a result, the form of face-to-face assignments consists of individuals, groups, and fields, whereas online is only individual assignments; the learning material is the same: grammar, 4 language skills, culture; PPSX, WA, e-mail learning tools. Learners experience problems in online learning. The learner has written advice in interactive learning and the use of English. Face-to-face learning is better than online learning.

Abstract

The COVID-19 that has occurred has changed all human routines. COVID-19 has also prompted countries to issue work from home (WFH) policies. With this policy, the line between office work and homework is invisible. This condition triggers conflict, especially between husband and wife working, namely between work and family. However, good interaction between family members can be a mediator for working couples. In this regard, the study aims to analyze family interactions and the effect of work-family conflict on the quality of marriage for husband and wife working families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The design of this research is a cross-sectional study and was carried out in the city of Bogor in March 2021. Research respondents are wives who work in the formal sector and have school-age children, and the number is 65 families. The method in this study was self-administered, and an online questionnaire was used. Analysis of the influence of family characteristics, work-family conflict, and family interaction on marriage quality used regression test. As a result, during the COVID-19 pandemic, marriage quality was in the high category, with work-family conflict in the low category and family interactions were in the moderate category. Based on the regression test results, it is known that the quality of marriage is positively and significantly influenced by the length of the marriage and negatively significantly by work-family conflict. The research implication is that work-family conflicts can be overcome with good interactions between family members during the pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a product model of integrative content-based Indonesian teaching syllabus and material in agriculture specifically for level A2 non-native speakers. The method is research and development. Through this initial effort, the syllabus and teaching materials were designed and then validated by experts, followed by revision I, draft II, revision II, design III, effectiveness test, revision III, and final product. The results revealed a high expert validation of draft I, and the effectivity test for db = 7 and α = 0.05 results in ttabel = t(0.05;7)= 1.895, and thit = 14.16235844, leading to acceptance of H1. Based on the research and development results, it can be concluded that the produced syllabus and teaching materials have been effective. This research implies that the syllabus and teaching materials developed can be applied in BIPA IPB and other BIPA with specific objectives in agriculture.
