Abstract

Mathematics learning activities would not be separated from the problem of mathematics. The mathematical will be a problems if in solving problem students does not immediately know the answer, but it takes time to think what steps should be taken to resolve the issue. In fact, many students are good at solving mathematical problems often use smart ways beyond of expectations and habits, thereby providing a short and accurate answer. in contrast to the students who have moderate or low mathematical ability, the way that used to solve the problem tend to give answers lengthy and sometimes less accurate, although many low of students math skills who have difficulties to find a way to solve mathematical problems. It showed that, there is a correlation between mathematical abilities of the students with intuition that students use in solving mathematical problems. On the other hand, the gender factor influencing the way to gain knowledge of mathematics. The influence of the gender factor in the process of conceptualization showed that gender may affect the use of intuition in understanding mathematical concepts. The aims of this study is to determine the differences between women's and mens intuition on vocational students who have a high level of mathematical ability, medium and low in mathematical problem solving. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive research without the use of statistical analysis. the population is a whole class X SMK 1 Banda Aceh by taking six subjects consisted of 3 male and 3 female subjects at various levels, through learning achievement tests and consultation with subject teachers. Data collected by using a test instrument covering mathematical problem solving ability test and an interview. Based on this research, note that: 1) The differences characteristic between women and men on the subjects intuition in solving mathematical problems by using solving Polya; 2) the differences intuition subjects between men and and women in solving mathematical problems by solving Polya; 3) There are differences intuition on various materials.

Abstract

Acehnese have long used measuring instruments for various daily needs, but these measuring instruments have not been utilized as media in the teaching and learning in schools. This study aims to develop an Ethnophysics flipbook based on Islamic values from Acehnese culture to improve students’ physics literacy. The flipbook is designed by integrating basic physics concepts, such as the measurement of mass, volume, and time, with local cultural practices, for example, the use of kai, are, naleh, and mayam, as well as the application of time in economic and religious activities, including zakat. This integration is expected not only to improve understanding of physics concepts but also to instill religious values and strengthen local wisdom. This study uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were high school students in Banda Aceh, and the instruments included expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and physics literacy tests. The results of expert validation showed very high feasibility. The limited trial obtained a positive response from 95% of students and a significant increase in physics literacy with an N-Gain of 0.78 (high category). In conclusion, the Islamic-values-based Ethnophysics flipbook effectively increased physics literacy that was contextual, religious, and relevant to local culture, while strengthening Islamic identity and preserving Acehnese culture.

Abstract

Purpose The use of media that is around students is believed to be very effective in maximizing the learning process. Every day students carry out activities both at home and outside the home, when they are active they are often faced with something that can be related to mathematical material. Such media can be applied to learning tools and developed properly through or by using the local wisdom culture of an area that is focused on cultural experiences contained in the local community environment. Mathematics learning must undergo changes in the context of improving the quality of education so that it can improve learning outcomes. optimal. So that efforts continue to be made to realize an innovative learning in accordance with the times and technology. This type of research is development research using a 4D model consisting of four stages. The second stage, the design includes the design of the RPP, LKPD, Teaching Materials, and Evaluation Sheets. The third stage of development includes product creation and validation carried out by mathematicians. The research instrument used a validation sheet and a teacher response questionnaire. The validity of the tools obtained by the RPP is 84.37%, LKPD 88.11%, teaching materials 85.07% and evaluation sheets 85.77%. The practicality of the equipment is in the very good category with an average gain of 4.26. It can be concluded that learning tools are considered valid and practical.Keyword : Development, Learning tools,Based on, Art of weaving, 4-D

Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is one of the abilities that must be possessed by students in studying mathematics. This is because the ability to think creatively can train students in designing various kinds of solutions in solving a problem. However, in reality, students' mathematical creative thinking skills are still relatively low, so a learning model is needed that can improve students' mathematical creative thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the improvement of students' mathematical creative thinking skills after receiving learning using reciprocal teaching and conventional learning models in class VIII SMPN 1 Baitussalam and (2) the level of students' mathematical creative thinking after applying the reciprocal teaching learning model in class VIII SMPN 1 Baitussalam. The research method used is an experimental method with a control group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMPN 1 Baitussalam with the sample taken by simple random sampling. The selected samples were students of class VIII-B as the experimental class and students of class VIII-C as the control class. Data were collected using a mathematical creative thinking ability test sheet which was then analyzed using the right-hand t-test and n-gain. The results showed that (1) the improvement of students' mathematical creative thinking skills after receiving learning with the reciprocal teaching model was better than conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 1 Baitussalam. (2) the level of students' mathematical creative thinking ability after learning with the reciprocal teaching model is in the "medium" category.
