Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality on the Odd Semester Final Assessment (PAS) of Grade XI Chemistry Subjects in SMAs in the Cirebon Region for the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This research is a quantitative description research with data collection methods using document analysis to obtain data. The sample of this study was grade XI students. Quantitative research was conducted with the help of the ANATES software program version 4.09. the results showed: (1) In terms of Distinguishing Power, the highest value is in school E (77%) and the lowest value is school C (50%). (2) In terms of Level of difficulty there is a proportional comparison in school B with a ratio of 3:5:2.

Abstract

Perguruan Tinggi sebagai pencetak generasi penerus bangsa memiliki peranan penting dalam pencapaian target SDGs yang diintegrasikan ke dalam Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, khususnya dalam bidang pengabdian. Cirebon merupakan wilayah pesisir pantai yang masyarakatnya bermata pencaharian sebagai nelayan atau sebagai produsen yang mengolah hasil laut. Desa Mertasinga merupakan desa di wilayah Kecamatan Gunungjati Kabupaten Cirebon yang memiliki potensi laut yang cukup tinggi karena terletak di pesisir laut Pantura. Salah satu hasil laut yang cukup melimpah yaitu rajungan. Salah satu alternatif upaya pemaafaatan limbang cangkang rajungan yang memiliki nilai ekonomis tinggi dan daya guna adalah dengan mengolahnya menjadi kitosan. Metode dalam pengabdian kali ini menggunakan metode Asset Based Commuity Development (ABCD). Tim KKN-PPM Universitas Muhammadiyah bermitra dengan salah produsen limbah cangkang rajungan melakukan demonstrasi dan pelatihan pembuatan kitosan dari cangkang rajungan. Program KKN-PPM ini dilaksanakan selama 1 bulan melalui beberapa tahapan: (1) Pembuatan kitosan dalam skala laboratorium dengan berbahan limbah cangkang rajungan. (2) Pemberdayaan masyarakat Desa Mertasinga melalui pelatihan dan keterampilan pembuatan kitosan dari limbah cangkang rajungan. (3) Pemberdayaan masyarakat Desa Mertasinga dengan memberikan pelatihan dan keterampilan bagaimana mengaplikasikan kitosan sebagai absorben. Hasil dari pelatihan diketahui dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan mitra dalam mengolah limbah cangkang rajungan menjadi kitosan dan mengaplikasikan kitin dan kitosan dalam berbagai bidang industri.

Abstract

Desa Sukamanah memiliki potensi pertanian yang cukup besar, khususnya dalam produksi jagung. Pada bagian jagung terdapat bonggol yang dimanfaatkan sebagai campuran pakan ternak maupun kompos. Limbah bonggol jagung yang tidak termanfaatkan akan menjadi pencemaran tanah dan air sehingga menggangu kesehatan dan pemandangan di desa Sukamanah. Adanya permasalahan tersebut dan kebutuhan ibu-ibu PKK dalam mengolah limbah menjadi tepung yang berkualitas dan bernilai ekonomi. Pelatihan pengolahan limbah bonggol jagung diharapkan dapat menambah pengetahuan terkait pengolahan limbah menjadi bernilai ekonomi serta menambah kemampuan dalam mengolah limbah bonggol jagung menjadi tepung yang berkualitas, serta mengubah tepung berkualitas menjadi cemilan yang bernutrisi tinggi. Para ibu PKK sangat antusias dengan adanya pelatihan pengolahan lombah bonggol jagung menjadi tepung berkualitas dan megubahnya menjadi cemilan berbagai variasi untuk peningkatan nutrisi anak.

Abstract

Learning is developing knowledge, skills, and attitudes interactively. Learning while playing by children can provide opportunities to explore, practice, and get a variety of concepts. Learning while playing is fun and can attract and motivate children to achieve learning goals optimally. Learning activities while playing are carried out with a feeling of pleasure, without coercion, but have a method that is expected to create results that promote good development for children. Abstract

The Society 5.0 era emphasizes production efficiency by transitioning from conventional to renewable energy sources. Thus, the Society 5.0 Era aligns with one of the goals of the SDGs, which is that industrial processes become more environmentally friendly and more efficient in using energy resources while increasing their value. Green chemistry is a comprehensive approach that designs safe chemicals ranging from environmentally friendly chemical products and processes to reducing the formation of harmful chemical substances. The type of research is descriptive and aimed at describing the student's early understanding of green chemistry. The subject of this study is a student of Prodi Education Chemistry at the University of Muhammadiyah Cirebon. The test instrument consists of 4 description questions compiled to measure the student's initial understanding of green chemistry. The analysis results show that the students understood the terminology for green chemistry. However, students still need to understand the 12 principles of green chemistry and their applications in everyday life.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru IPA SMP dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis deep learning yang kontekstual, kolaboratif, dan menyenangkan. Program dilaksanakan melalui pendekatan capacity building yang dipadukan dengan prinsip co-creation untuk membangun kemampuan reflektif dan inovatif guru dalam menyusun modul ajar interaktif berbasis permainan tradisional. Kegiatan diawali dengan analisis kebutuhan, dilanjutkan dengan pelatihan konsep deep learning, lokakarya penyusunan modul, dan refleksi hasil pendampingan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan terhadap kualitas perangkat ajar guru, dengan rata-rata peningkatan sebesar 23 %, terutama pada aspek inovasi dan integrasi konteks lokal. Produk utama kegiatan berupa Modul Ajar IPA Berbasis Deep Learning bertema “Bentuk-bentuk Energi” yang mengintegrasikan permainan tradisional Boy-boyan Energi dan asesmen digital interaktif menggunakan PhET Simulation dan Quizizz. Modul hasil co-creation ini dinilai memenuhi karakteristik meaningful, mindful, dan joyful learning yang memperkuat kemampuan berpikir kritis, kolaboratif, dan kreatif siswa. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada tercapainya SDGs poin 4 (Pendidikan Berkualitas) melalui peningkatan kualitas guru dan inovasi pembelajaran sains berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

This study addresses the low level of students’ critical thinking skills in chemistry learning, particularly in the context of thermochemistry, which is an abstract and complex concept to visualize. To overcome this challenge, Project-Based Learning (PBL) was integrated with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach. The research aimed to examine the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills and to explore their responses toward the PjBL-STEM model. A quantitative experimental method was employed with purposive sampling of 11th-grade senior high school students. Research instruments included a critical thinking test based on Facione’s indicators, observation sheets, and student response questionnaires. The data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The findings revealed a significant improvement, with the average score increasing from 47% in the pre-test to 74% in the post-test. Students showed better performance in interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation. Furthermore, responses toward the PjBL-STEM model were highly positive, with 67% of students agreeing and 21% strongly agreeing with its implementation. These results suggest that PjBL-STEM provides a practical, interactive, and contextual learning experience, thereby enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in chemistry education.
