Abstract

The objective of this paper is to analyze Rencana Jangka Panjang Daerah Kabupaten Rembang from SDGs and Maqosid Shariah point of view. This paper find that, SDGs only confirm with 4 element maqosid syariah, except the first maqosid. For the secular countries, it is not create any problems, but for the Regency like Rembang, the fulfilment of first maqosid namely “safeguarding religion” is very important. Hence, adobting SDGs need to be modified. In majority SDGs are connects with the 4th and 5th objective of shariah. It means that, from Maqosid Syariah view, SDGs are very focus on the economic and long-life aspect. While, there is no goal of SDGs that has intended to the development of religion. If compared to RPJPD, for the first objective of Shariah there is no specific indication that Rembang has concern on this. For the second objective of Shariah, it has strong relationship with SDGs, thus, in RPJPD there are some real concern from the government in achieving this goal. Indeed, for the goal related to progency and economic aspect, RPJPD of Rembang are very much focus on the fulfilment of this. Hence, there are many program related to this goal. Contrastly, although, education that confirm to SDGs and also 3rd Maqosid syariah, has been accommodated in RPJPD, but this program is away from the main characteristics of Rembang, namely Pesantren and Madrasah. In RPJPD, it is clearly indicated that, the final goal of education is just in term of achieving scores such as APS and APM, rather than character building which has been done by Pesantren and Madrasah.  Keyword: RPJP, SDGs, Maqoshid Syari’ah

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between macroeconomic variables, namely inflation, rupiah exchange rate, gross domestic product, money supply, and interest rates on the Net Asset Value (NAV) of Islamic Mutual Funds. The sampling method used purposive sampling with 9 mutual fund companies from 2013 to 2020. This study used a panel data regression method with a random effect model. The results showed that inflation and interest rates did not show any effect on the NAV of Islamic Mutual Funds. There is no effect on inflation because the inflation rate in Indonesia is still at a low level. The interest rate has no effect because the character of mutual funds is a long-term investment instrument. The money supply and the exchange rate have a significant positive effect on the NAV of Sharia Mutual Funds. This is due to the increase in the money supply and the rupiah exchange rate from year to year. Meanwhile, gross domestic product has a significant negative effect on the NAV of Sharia Mutual Funds. This is because the NAV of mutual fund companies from year to year depreciates, while gross domestic product from year to year appreciates.

Abstract

This study seeks to explore the role of the political system in supporting the influence of macro variables on economic growth in the world's Islamic countries. Data obtained from the world bank during 2010-2021. The econometric model used in the research is the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). The main finding is that the political system has a significant negative effect on growth. This negative effect is caused by the low value of the political index determined by world governance indicators. In addition, foreign direct investment and remittances are still the main variables in supporting economic growth in the Islamic countries of the world. In contrast, interest rates show negative effects on economic growth. Further results show that an ineffective political system is unable to strengthen the relationship between foreign direct investment, remittances, and interest rates on economic growth. These findings serve as an evaluation for the 2025 OIC internal implementation action program.AbstrakStudi ini berusaha untuk mengeksplorasi peran dari sistem politik dalam mendukung pengaruh variabel makro terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di negara Islam dunia. Data diperoleh dari world bank selama tahun 2010-2021.

Abstract

Indonesia, a nation with a population of over 70 million millennials, presents immense potential for the fintech sector to transform payments related to Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS). This study investigates the factors influencing millennial adoption of digital platforms for ZIS payments in Java, Indonesia. Building upon the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT-2), a novel model incorporating religiosity as a predictor of fintech-based ZIS payment intent is proposed. Utilizing a quantitative approach, primary data was collected from 165 Javanese millennials via a geographically diverse survey. Subsequent analysis, employing the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) with WarpPLS Version 8.0 software, revealed significant positive influences on ZIS payment intent through fintech, stemming from performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, and established habits. Notably, religiosity emerged as a potent determinant. Conversely, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation, and price value exhibited no statistically significant impact. This research contributes significantly to the development of consumer behavior models by validating the determinants of fintech-based ZIS payment intentions. Furthermore, it underscores the crucial role of digital marketing in ZIS endeavors, advocating for the strategic utilization of social media platforms to foster millennial engagement. The findings pave the way for a flourishing digital ecosystem of ZIS giving, empowering a new generation of Indonesian Muslims to fulfill their religious obligations through convenient and impactful means.==============================================================================================================ABSTRAK – Pemanfaatan Fintech Untuk Pembayaran ZIS di Indonesia: Perspektif Milenial.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of institutional quality, green economy policies, and financial development on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Muslim countries. It employed panel data from 2010 to 2020 and is analyzed using the Dynamic Panel Model with the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), which allows for handling endogeneity problems that often arise in panel data analysis. Statistical testing revealed that most institutional quality indicators, such as Political Stability, Government Effectiveness, Regulatory Quality, and Rule of Law, significantly and positively impact foreign direct investment. Additionally, the green economy, represented by natural resources, human capital, and the overall regulatory environment, also exerts a significant positive effect on foreign direct investment. Similar outcomes were observed in the financial sector's development, which significantly and positively reinforced the relationship between institutional quality and the green economy on foreign direct investment in Muslim countries. These results suggest a positive trajectory for resource management potential that can enhance the investment climate in Muslim countries. The findings offer valuable insights for policymakers in formulating effective strategies to boost capital inflows in Muslim countries. Policymakers are advised to consistently monitor both institutional quality and green economy indicators to discern investor preferences for foreign direct investment inflows.==============================================================================================================ABSTRAK – Determinan Apa yang Mempengaruhi Investasi Asing Langsung di Negara-negara Muslim? Paper ini menguji pengaruh kualitas kelembagaan, kebijakan ekonomi hijau, dan pembangunan keuangan terhadap Investasi Asing Langsung (FDI) di negara-negara Muslim. Abstract

The performance of Islamic mutual funds is significant either for investors or policy-makers. Many factors affect the performance of Islamic mutual funds, such as internal factors, external factors (macroeconomics), and market index. This study aims to analyze the impact of the past return of Islamic mutual fund, BI rate, and the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) on the performance of Islamic equity mutual funds. By employing panel data regression analysis, this study documented some interesting findings. The statistical testing revealed that BI rate, which is used as an indicator for external factors and JII (as Market factors), have a positive impact on the performance of Islamic equity mutual funds. In contrast, the past return does not affect the performance of Islamic equity funds. This study suggests that the investor must consider internal, and external factor in the investment activities.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world with a Muslim population of 229 million people and ZIS collection institutions such as BAZNAS and LAZIS have spread throughout the archipelago. This research aims to determine how much influence the variables have in increasing the collection of Zakat, Infaq, and Alms (ZIS) in BAZNAS throughout the Province of Java. The variables used to explain the effect of macroeconomic variables on the collection of Zakat, Infaq, and Alms at BAZNAS are Regional Minimum Wages, Inflation, Per capita Income and Unemployment by using secondary data collection techniques or directly on the BAZNAS official website per year. This study uses the Common Effect Model (CEM) analysis model on panel data regression using time series and cross section data for the years 2013-2020.The results of this study indicate that of all independent variables that can affect ZIS income, only inflation and per capita income variables, while the Provincial Minimum Wage and Unemployment variables have no effect on the dependent variable.

Abstract

Cash waqf is becoming one of the popular Islamic financial instruments which not only focus on the religiosity but also has significant impact to the ummah development. This waqf scheme does not require richness in wealth, yet everybody in the society can contribute to cash waqf. The importance of cash waqf is getting popular as it has benefited in many ways, for example it can be used to develop assets and abandoned land for business and agricultural purposes. In addition, cash waqf also can be utilized to help institutions who are facing financial problem or liquidity issues. Nonetheless, rarely we found in the literature that empirically examines the cash waqf determinants and contributions. This paper is one of the few empirical studies that investigate the determinants towards the contribution of cash waqf in Malaysia. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the main factors that influence people towards the contribution of cash waqf instruments, special reference to the Klang Valley and Selangor. This paper employs structural equation modeling (SEM) to verify the determinants of cash waqf contribution. In doing so, we use primary data by distributing self-administrated questionnaire constituting a sample of 114 respondents from Klang Valley and Selangor. Our empirical results reveal that the main factors that driven people towards the contribution of cash waqf products are attitude and social influences, however interestingly religion obligation is not influence the contribution of cash waqf.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability as an intervening variable on the Islamic and social performance of Islamic Banking in order to maintain earnings per share. The purpose of maintaining earnings per share is to attract investors to invest in Islamic bank issuers. Therefore, this study also endeavors to forecast Islamic banking stock price volatility for companies listed on IDX and propose a framework for its mitigation. This framework considers the role of social performance in enhancing profitability, utilizing the path analysis method. This study focused on 3 Islamic banking companies (PNBS, BRIS, and BTPS) as a sample, using quarterly data specifically for the period of 2017 to 2021 with a purposive sampling method. In addition, Data sources include financial statements encompassing profit-sharing ratio, distribution of zakat, and distribution of qard al-hasan. Furthermore, this study employed an ARIMA regression model, subsequently adjusted using ARCH (Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity) and GARCH (Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity) as an analysis method for data forecasting. Based on the path diagram, it indicatedd that all hypotheses are accepted except for qard al-hasan, which has a significant and negative effect on profitability and stock prices. Therefore, based on these findings, this study contributes to expanding the scope of knowledge in the field of Sharia finance, as well as offers valuable guidance to Islamic finance industries on maximizing Islamic and social instruments to increase profitability, ultimately leading to a positive effect on stock price volatility.
