Abstract

CV Maras Beton is one of the paving block producers in Sumbawa Regency. Some work activities at CV Maras Beton use machines, but some use employees' physical strength. It was found from interviews with workers that several workers who handled physical work activities experienced pain in the shoulders, thighs, waist, and legs. Namely the work of lifting sand, removing stone ash, lifting dry paving blocks, and lifting paving blocks from the machine to the hand pallet. Therefore, an ergonomic analysis was conducted on these workers to minimize work-related illnesses, including low back pain. This research uses a biomechanical approach with the Recommended Weight Limit (RWL) method. Based on the research results, it was concluded that there was one job that was categorized as high risk, namely the sand removal process. Another job categorized as medium risk is lifting paving blocks from the machine to the hand pallet. Two other jobs, namely removing stone ash and removing dry paving blocks, are categorized as low risk. So the work that requires urgent repairs is sand removal activities.

Abstract

Kabupaten Sumbawa sangat rawan terjadi bencana alam seperti gempa yang banyak memakan korban jiwa diakibatkan oleh bangunan yang roboh. Bangunan yang roboh tersebut materialnya diindikasikan terbuat dari bahan yang mudah rapuh sehingga dibutuhkan bahan baku pengganti batako, hebel, dan batu bata yang lebih kuat dan ramah lingkungan. Material atau bahan bakunya dapat memanfaatkan limbah industri parang dan pertanian Dusun Talwa  Desa Leseng Kecamatan Moyo Hulu Kabupaten Sumbawa Besar, NTB. Tujuan Program Kemitraan ini adalah untuk mengenalkan pengelolaan sampah yang sistematis dan produktif kepada para anggota Karang Taruna Dusun Talwa. Metode yang digunakan meliputi Sosialisasi Program Pengabdian, Seminar Pengelolaan Limbah, Workshop pembuatan batako eco-friendly, Workshop Pembangunan Fasilitas dengan limbah industri parang-limbah pertanian, pendampingan bagi 2 peserta, serta kegiatan evaluasi program. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pengolahan sampah yang sistematis dan komprehensif dan meningkatnya kemampuan masyarakat dalam pengolahan limbah industri parang dan pertanian menjadi produk batako. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan pemahaman Masyarakat yang dilihat dari perbandingan hasil pretest dan juga post-test. Selain itu, Masyarakat juga mampu mempraktikkan secara langsung proses pembuatan batako dari limbah industri parang dan pertanian, sehingga masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan pemahaman tersebut dengan cara membuat secara mandiri dan menjadikannya sebagai usaha sampingan. Kegiatan Program Kemitraan ini mampu memberikan pemahaman dan kemampuan kepada warga desa dalam mengolah limbah industri parang dan pertanian  menjadi batako.

Abstract

PT. PLN UPLTD Labuhan-Sumbawa as one of the electricity provider units certainly has the potential for danger to workers, one of which is in the Maintenance section. Based on the results of the GOTRAK survey, it was found that all workers had experienced pain or discomfort with a moderate risk level of 44%. The risk level of body pain is in the upper back, lower back, and right shoulder areas, so an ergonomic analysis is needed on the activities of maintenance workers based on SNI 9011:2021. The results of the analysis show that the partition installation worker is in the moderate hazard category with a total score of 6; the pipe installation worker is in the moderate hazard category with a total score of 4; and the Central B cleaning worker is in the hazard category with a total score of 2. Recommendations for improvement are needed by providing proposals for improving work stations including redesigning work stations, adjusting layouts, using personal protective equipment, and improving lighting in the workplace.

Abstract

Tempe producers in Sumbawa Regency have problems in meeting the increasing consumer needs. One of the factors is the unstable price of soybean raw materials, this hurts the sustainability of these small businesses. The purpose of this study is to analyze the calculation of tempe business productivity to carry out business control. The methods used are objective matrix, fishbone and 5W + 1H. The results of this study obtained the productivity index (IP) value in December 2023, namely 2.35%, in January 2024 it was 4.65%, in February 2024 it was 3.2%, in March 2024 it was 2.35%, in April 2024 it was 1.5% and in May 2024 it was 6%. From these achievements, the productivity that increased the most occurred in May 2024 with a performance indicator of 6% while the lowest productivity occurred in April 2024 with a performance indicator of 1.55%.

Abstract

The work of traditional blacksmiths in Talwa, Sumbawa Regency, is still done manually with awkward work postures, excessive use of energy, heat exposure, and vibration, thus risking musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This condition shows that there is a gap in research related to the application of ergonomics in the traditional small industry sector. This study aims to analyze the level of ergonomic risk in blacksmith workers using the Skeletal Muscle Disorder (GOTRAK) assessment and the SNI 9011:2021 ergonomic potential hazard checklist, and develop recommendations for improvement. The method used was descriptive quantitative on five workers, with data collection through the GOTRAK questionnaire and SNI 9011:2021 checklist. The results show high risk (score >8) in the shoulders, upper and lower back, arms, and hands, and moderate risk (score 6-7) in the neck, elbows, hips, thighs, knees, calves, and feet. Ergonomic potential hazard scores ranged from 9 to 21, with the main exposures from bending postures, wrist bending, power grip >5 kg, vibration without dampening, high temperature, and static standing. Implementation of SNI 9011:2021 in traditional small industries and ergonomic recommendations to improve safety, comfort, and productivity.

Abstract

A driving License (SIM) is a card that a motorized vehicle driver must own to prove the eligibility to drive a motorized vehicle. There are still many drivers who do not have a SIM. One of the reasons drivers don't apply for a driving license is because they object to follow every procedure in making a driver's license, which takes a long time and causes long queues every day. The application for a driver's license in a city or district is only in one place, namely at the City Police. As a result, many applicants apply for a driver's license in the queue system. This problem also occurs in the SIM-making service system at the Sumbawa Police Station. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the queuing system for SIM-making services at the Sumbawa Besar Resort Police using the queuing theory method. There are two types of submissions in applying for a SIM, namely a new application and an application for an extension of a SIM, and the queuing system model used is Single Channel-Multi Phase. There are three phases in applying for a new SIM: the registration phase, photo phase, and test phase. Meanwhile, the application for a SIM extension has two steps: registration and photos. Based on the results of the analysis, the use of one service in each phase has not been optimal in overcoming the number of queues in the new SIM application process because there is still a steady-state (ρ) greater than one and the number of applicants is still queuing in the system, namely on Monday (phase test), Wednesday (test phase) and Friday (photo phase and test phase). Therefore, it is proposed to add one more service on that day and phase so that the stadium condition (ρ) is less than one and there is only one applicant in the queue (Lq).

Abstract

The problem of stunting in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) remains a serious concern despite a significant decline in stunting rates. Despite this considerable decline, NTB has yet to reach the national target of 14%. There is still 10.6% left to achieve to meet the national target. Stunting in NTB is caused by chronic, recurring malnutrition, especially in animal protein. Therefore, to meet these nutritional needs and increase children's appetite, innovations in stunting management are needed, one of which is creating contemporary foods such as dimsum siomay. Training on making dimsum siomay using chicken and shrimp as raw materials was provided to the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group in Maman Village, Sumbawa Regency, to improve the knowledge and economy of its members, and to reduce stunting rates. The training method used was the Participatory Rural Appraisal approach, which included the delivery of materials and hands-on practice in making dimsum siomay. A review of the training activities was conducted after the training, aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of the training in improving the knowledge, skills, and awareness of the PKK women's group in Maman Village in developing culinary businesses. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in the knowledge, skills, and caring attitudes of PKK members after the training. The training also raised PKK members' awareness of developing independent and sustainable culinary businesses. The training's effectiveness rate was 45%, categorized as quite effective in empowering the PKK women's group economically, and can serve as a model for other community empowerment programs.
