Abstract

New word formation cannot be avoided in the making sentences, paragraphs, and also to speak, because words are part of the language which develops interaction between individuals in a society as human communication. The nature of communication are verbal communication (oral and writing) and non verbal communication (sign language and symbols). People often use media in verbal communication, such as written media or mass media (newspaper, magazines, billboards, tabloids and banners). This research analyzed about the structure of words contained in the article Al Jazeera News entitled “Syria’s Refuge Children: Future lost to the war” which uses derivation and inflection word formation process. This research aims to know how word formation occurs and identifies how many new words are formed by derivation and inflection processes. Descriptive qualitative method uses in this research. It begins by reading theories of word formation which related to journal and books, determine the article, furthermore classifies the words that contain derivation and inflection process. From the both word formation process that used (derivation and inflection) in analyzing the article, the result of the study found inflection is mostly used, because in the article required grammatical function that contained in inflection.  Keywords: Derivation, Inflection, Word formation process

Abstract

The research aims to find the classification types of code switching and code mixing in twivortiare 2 novel then describe the influencing using types of code switching and code mixing in the novel. Descriptive qualitative method are used as the methodology in this research which means classify types of code switching and code mixing every sentences clearly through the dialogue of the novel. The research focused on the types of code switching (inter-sentential, intra-sentential, and tag-switching) and types of code mixing (insertion, alternation, and Congruent Lexicalization) while combine with influencing of used it. The results of the research many utterance are most of utterance using code mixing – insertation and code switching – intra-setential.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of vocabulary mastery on students' English descriptive writing skills and the impact of reading habits on students' English descriptive writing skills, as well as the effect of vocabulary mastery and reading habits together on students' English descriptive writing skills. The population in this study was students of class X State Senior High School in Cibinong and the sample was 120 students. The sampling technique was processed using a simple random sampling method. Descriptive statistical methods were used in this research. The research instrument used was a questionnaire on students' vocabulary mastery, reading habits, and a descriptive text writing skill test. Data analysis used SPSS version 25, the significant level of = 0.05. The requirement analysis use normality test, homogeneity test, two-way ANOVA. The result of this research is vocabulary mastery by the value of sig. = 0.77 < 0.05 does not have a significant effect on students' descriptive text writing skills, reading habits have a significant influence on students' descriptive text writing skills by the value of sig. = 0.01 < 0.05 and there is no significant effect of vocabulary mastery and reading habits on students' writing skills by the value of sig. = 0.01 < 0.265.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1)Influence of reading ability and vocabulary mastery together on writing skills descriptive text. 2)Influence of reading ability towards writing skills descriptive text. 3)Influence of vocabulary mastery on writing skills descriptive text. The populations are X-grade students of Private High School as many as 50 respondents were sampled in this research. The research is conducted by survey method, with multiple linear regression research. The results of hypothesis testing obtained the following conclusions: 1)There is a significant impact on the reading ability and vocabulary mastery together on writing skills descriptive text at Private high school students in West Jakarta. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Sig.= 0.020 0.05 and Fcount = 4.235. 2)There is no significant effect of reading ability towards writing skills descriptive text at private high school students in West Jakarta. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Sig.=0.9000.05 and tcount=0.126. 3)There is a significant influence on the vocabulary mastery on writing skills descriptive text at private high school students in West Jakarta. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Sig =0.029 0.05 and tcount = 2.249.

Abstract

The place funeral general which serves as a burial place for people who died. Funeral general also has other functions such as the Green Open Space, catchment area water, and lungs of the city. The author uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Sources of data in this study were obtained using the data used, interviews and documentation TPU Tegal Alur Unit II Islam which located in Jl.Kamal Raya No.1A. Kelurahan Tegal Alur. Kecamatan Kalideres. Kota Administrasi Jakarta Barat 11820. As well as interviews with that related source. The place funeral general tegal alur is a public cemetery that stands from the wakaf land owned by local residents. At the tomb was previously there is a tomb of Muslims and non-Muslims. TPU Tegal Alur Unit II Islam other than moving in service funeral, as providing information on funerals and retribution rates in general. TPU Tegal Alur Unit II Islam also one of the manufacturers for finance area ie within retribution service funeral.Keywords: Procedure, Administration, Service

Abstract

Sektor pertanian merupakan sektor primer dan memegang peranan penting bagi perekonomian nasional. Salah satu hasil dari sektor pertanian adalah beras yang merupakan makanan pokok warga negara Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh secara simultan dan parsial produksi, dan harga terhadap konsumsi beras Kabupaten Kerinci, serta untuk menganalisis variabel yang berpengaruh paling dominan terhadap konsumsi beras di Kabupaten Kerinci periode tahun 2010 - 2015. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara simultan variabel produksi dan harga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap konsumsi beras di Kabupaten Kerinci tahun 2010 - 2015. Secara parsial variabel produksi beras dan konsumsi beras tidak berpengaruh terhadap konsumsi beras di Kabupaten Kerincitahun 2010-2015. Variabel produksi dan harga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap konsumsi beras di Kabupaten Kerinci tahun 2010 - 2015. Kata Kunci: produksi, konsumsi beras, harga.

Abstract

The research aims to know the student’s ability to write English essays using recount text through online media learning conducted ten students in the tenth class of Rumah Belajar Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (RB-YCAB). The research does online media learning; virtual synchronous learning for material explanation and self-directed asynchronous learning to do the exercises. The research is using qualitative research methods. The data is obtained through several observations and some trials to get results of pre-test and post-test scores. The results show that: (1) Recount text through online media learning helps students’ writing skill can be incredibly effective. (2) Learning recount text through online media learning is coherent and help students in sharpening their memories. (3) Writing ability can improve by the results of the improvement in pre-test and post-test scores. Based on those improvements of a student’s writing ability using recount text through online media learning at Rumah Belajar Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (RB-YACB) is effective.

Abstract

The analysis aims to find how sexual harassment appears, impacts sexual harassment, and feminism influenced the main character in Camp X-Ray movie. The method of this analysis is the descriptive qualitative method. The writer uses the sexual harassment theory by Kirillova and the feminism theory by Wicaksono dkk. The data about sexual harassment are taken from Camp X-Ray movie directed by Peter Sattler. The result of this analysis is sexual harassment appears, impacts of sexual harassment are frustrating. Feminism in this film focuses on fighting for women’s rights. As a result, Cole, as the main character, bravely fights the sexual harassment suffered by that sexual harassment does not occur again because with feminism, women have the freedom of speech, thought and protection for themselves in social life and other places

Abstract

Learning media in the digital era must be aligned with technological developments. The learning media chosen must be interesting and attached to students. The Tik Tok application is currently popular with many people, including the students of administrasi bisnis department, Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika. Departing from these reasons, the researchers took the initiative to implement the Tik Tok application as a medium interesting and fun learning in delivering material in English for Business courses. This study aims to find out how effective the Tik Tok application is in improving the speaking skills of students majoring in business administration at the Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika. Qualitative method is used for analyzing the recorded video on Tik Tok application that were produced by the students as well as processing of questionnaires on student views regarding the use of tick tock media in learning in English for Business courses. The result indicated that the use of the Tik Tok application is considered quite effective in developing students' speaking skills. This can be seen from the results of the recordings sent to lecturers, students are more relaxed and not tense when speaking English using Tik Tok. This was also corroborated by the results of filling out the questionnaire which stated that the Tik Tok application was an innovation in learning English, which made students more relaxed and enjoyed the teaching and learning process and eliminated the mindset that learning English is difficult.
