Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability of lipolytic bacteria to degrade lipids by obtaining isolates of lipolytic bacteria in palm oil industrial wastewater. By testing the ability of the lipolytic index, the research method used is a description method with bacterial isolation techniques using NA media (Nutrient Agar) and selective media for lipolytic agar. The results showed that there were 10 isolates of lipolytic bacteria with morphological and biochemical characteristics indicating three bacterial genera, namely, the genera Bacillus, Pseudomonas, and Klebsiella. Data analysis showed that 10 isolates of lipolytic bacteria had the potential to degrade lipids; the highest lipolytic activity index value of the isolates was found in isolate BL1 at 0.48 mm, and the lowest lipolytic index was found in isolate BL9 at 0.16 mm. In conclusion, isolating and identifying lipolytic bacteria in palm oil wastewater is one way to reduce environmental pollution that damages existing ecosystems in the environment. Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the types of bacteria that are able to fix nitrogen and dissolve phosphate in liquid rubber waste in Perdamean Village, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research method used is the description method with bacterial isolation techniques, and then tests are carried out, namely testing the ability of nitrogen fixation and testing the ability of phosphate solubilizers. The results showed that bacterial isolates capable of fixing nitrogen were found to have high absorbance values, namely 1,340 ABS. In the phosphate solubilizing ability test, there were 2 isolates that were unable to dissolve phosphate. In conclusion, isolating nitrogen and phosphate fixation bacteria from liquid rubber waste is a way to prevent pollution and the destruction of existing ecosystems in the environment. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the presence of degrading bacteria in the Simangalam river containing palm oil wastewater in Gunung Melayu Village, North Labuhanbatu Regency. This research was conducted using a survey method on the presence of bacteria and the characteristics of bacterial isolates degrading palm oil industrial wastewater and the data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that only HB1ST1 and HB2ST2 were circular, while HB3ST2, HB4ST2, HB5ST2, and H62ST2 were irregular. After gram staining, three gram-positive bacterial isolates (HB1ST1, HB4ST2, and HB6ST2) and three gram-negative bacterial isolates (HB2ST2, HB3ST2, and HB5ST2) were obtained. The HB1ST1 isolate motility test showed negative results, while the other five isolates (HB2ST2, HB3ST2, HB4ST2, HB5ST2, and HB6ST2) showed positive results. The conclusion of this study is that there are 6 bacterial isolates that are able to degrade oil palm liquid waste in the Simangalam River from 2 samples of oil palm liquid waste. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat literasi ilmiah buku teks pelajaran Biologi SMA kelas XI berdasarkan tema literasi ilmiah dan secara khusus penelitian ini tekanan pada dimensi literasi ilmiah.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode (content analysis). setiap bab pada buku teks biologi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode dokumentasi Hasil penelitian pada kedua buku menunjukkan bahwa literasi sains sebagai jalan investigasi menjadi dimensi yang paling dominan muncul pada buku I sebesar 62,5% sedangkan pada buku II sebesar 60%. Dimensi sains sebagai batang tubuh proporsinya lebih banyak pada buku I yaitu sebesar 60%. Sedangkan pada buku II 50%.Sedikit sekali bagian yang menekan dimensi sains sebagai jalan berpikir dengan proporsi rata-rata pada buku I sebesar 40%, sedangkan pada buku II sebesar 32.5% . Dimensi sains dan interaksinya dengan teknologi dan masyarakat muncul paling sedikit dan kurang ditekankan pada kedua buku dengan jumlah rata-rata sebesar 25%. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingakat literasi ilmiah buku teks pelajaran biologi SMA kelas XI yang digunakan di Kecamatan Barumun cukup baik sesuai dengan penilaian penilaian

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' responses to scientific literacy-based modules on regulatory system material and to determine the feasibility of scientific literacy-based modules on regulatory system material. The product development design uses the Borg & Gall model with eight stages including, potentials and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, product revision, product testing, product revision, and the final product. This research was carried out from September to December 2021 with a research sample of 35 students in class XI SMA Yayasan Nurul Islam Indonesia. The results of this study showed that the percentage met the very feasible category with the acquisition of an average score on each aspect, namely 83% by material experts, 92% by media experts, 92% by biology teachers and 93% by students. So it can be concluded that scientific literacy-based module teaching materials are very feasible to use for teaching and learning activities.

Abstract

The aims of this study were to determine whether Clostridium botulinum bacteria were present in used cooking oil, and to look at the characteristics of Clostridium botulinum bacteria in used cooking oil. In this study, isolation of bacteria from used cooking oil using blood agar media, identification of bacteria using gram staining and biochemical tests such as gelatin test, triple sugar iron agar (TSIA) test, simon citrate test, and motility test were carried out. The results of the study obtained 2 out of 3 samples containing Clostridium botulinum bacteria. These bacteria are more common in used cooking oil, which has a more blackish brown color, lots of crumbs left over from food, and temperatures around 30-55℃. In conclusion, there is Clostridium botulinum bacteria found in used cooking oil. Clostridium botulinum colonies are grey, alpha hemolytic, circular to irregular in shape with scalloped edges or rhizoids, and flat to raised surfaces. Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there are Coliform bacteria contained in residents' well water in Tanjung Selamat Village, Medan Tuntungan District. In this study, physical tests were carried out on samples using sensory devices, chemical tests using pH paper, and bacterial identification using the MPN test which included a prediction test using Lactose Borth media, a confirmation test using Brilliant Green Lactose Borth (BGLB) media, and a certainty test. using eosin methylene blue (EMB) media. The results of the physical test obtained 1 sample and the chemical test obtained 3 samples that met the requirements for clean water health. Meanwhile, from the MPN test, the MPN value was obtained for sample 1: 43/100 ml of water, sample 2: >2400/100 ml of water, sample 3: 60.06/100 ml of water. The difference in the number of MPN values found in the samples indicates that the samples have different levels of contamination and pollution levels. Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that of the three water samples taken from residents' well water in Tanjung Selamat Village, Medan District, Tuntungan was positive for Coliform bacteria. Abstract

Untuk mengetahui jenis tumbuhan yang digunakan sebagai tumbuhan obat oleh suku Karo di Desa Garingging, memahami bagian tumbuhan apa saja yang digunakan sebagai obat tradisional, memahami kegunaan tumbuhan obat tradisional yang digunakan masyarakat Karo di Desa Garingging, memahami cara pengolahan tumbuhan obat di masyarakat Karo di Desa Garingging, dan pemahaman cara pemanfaatan tanaman obat di Suku Karodi menjadi tujuan dari penelitian ini. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif Subyek penelitian ini adalah sebagian masyarakat Karo di Desa Garingging serta tokoh masyarakat yang memiliki pengetahuan tentang tanaman obat. Obyek penelitian adalah tanaman obat yang digunakan oleh masyarakat Karo di Desa Garingging.Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, masyarakat Karo di Desa Garingging menggunakan 30 spesies tanaman obat yang berbeda. Daun, batang, buah, bunga, akar, dan getah tanaman ini digunakan sebagai bahan obat, dan ada tiga cara berbeda untuk menyiapkan dan menggunakannya: direbus, diperas, dan ditumbuk. Cara lain termasuk makan, minum, menetes, mengunyah, menyemprot, dan mengolesi.tumbuhan tertentu yang berkhasiat obat.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil belajar siswa yang tergolong rendah karena proses pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif teknik keliling kelas berbentu mind mapping untuk melihat hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari pembelajaran kooperatif teknik keliling kelas berbantu mind mapping terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem reproduksi di kelas XI MAS PPM Babussalam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes berbentuk pilihan berganda berjumlah 36 soal yang telah divalidasi. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MAS PPM Babussalam dengan jumlah siswa 43 orang yang terdiri dari 2 kelas, yaitu kelas XI A dengan jumlah siswa 20 orang dan kelas XI B dengan jumlah siswa 23 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan sampel total atau sampling jenuh. Dari hasil analisis hasil belajar siswa diperoleh yaitu nilai thitung sebesar 4,076 > 2,019. Berdasarkan hipotesis penelitian, jika nilai thitung > t-tabel maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian, terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran kooperatif teknik keliling kelas berbantu mind mapping terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem reproduksi di kelas XI MAS PPM Babussalam. Adapun rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen adalah 87,49 dan dan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol adalah 81,51.

Abstract

Making products in the form of learning modules is the development of the Wahdatul Ulum Paradigm-Based Ecosystem Module. The resulting modules are used as instructional content. This author developed a product in the form of a wahdatul ulum-based module which was carried out at the MAS Al-Wasliyah Percut school with ecosystem material for class X SMA/MA students because modules detailed with the wahdatul ulum paradigm concept are generally not available in biology textbooks. The layout plan contained in this module is expected to be able to encourage students, be cool and be interested in understanding the use of the module because it displays lots of interesting pictures. This increase in exploration takes advantage of the progress of Research and Development (Innovative Work) with the 4D plan which has four phases, namely Characterize, Plan, Advancement, and Spread. Based on the assessment results from experts and also students, it is known that the development of environmental modules is very possible to be used as teaching materials. Media experts scored 87.50 percent, material experts scored 92.30 percent, and religion experts scored 85.41 percent in their due diligence assessment. Ecosystem modules based on the wahdatul ulum paradigm for class X SMA/MA students deserve to be used as additional teaching materials for the learning process, according to the assessment results, namely 91.66% for Biology teachers and 90.88% for students.
