Abstract

Children’s literature is a literary works consumed and/or produced by children in their inter-action to the environment. This kind of literature tends to be marginalized in academic, productivity and the use of the literature itself. Compared to children’s literature of other regions existing in Minangkabau territory seems almost forgotten. Children’s literature contains ideology of the author and his collectivity which is unconsciously easy and straight will be absorbed by the children, and it will influence their character, for example, they want to become a figure of hero from the comics or story they read. So easy are the children absorbed in the story they read, therefore, we need and idea to offer and serve children literature texts containing local character, particularly Minangkabau, and generally Indonesia so that they do not go off their Indonesian root. The discussion on the children literature becomes urgent. Any children literature of Minangkabau having become tradition, how the production, and the use of them for children’s world must paid attention on. The children’s literature of Minangkabau may be said available in oral form, and may be covered in punning when they are inter-acting to the environment. The creation and production are quite saddening. Meanwhile the use of it tends to be marginalized either in daily life or in education. From academic point of view there is so little making use of it as a material of study as well as from production view pint there not many children’s literature born in comparison to adult’s, or juvenile’s one. Let alone the use of it, the children tend to consume the imported one for they are more various, and packed more interestingly. In fact, the children literature may put on the foundation to form characterized national generation based on creativity, plurality tolerance.   Keywords: ideology, character, marginal, and children’s literature.

Abstract

The republishing activities of Kaba books carried out by the publisher Kristal Multimedia cannot be separated from the publisher Pustaka Indonesia, one of the earliest publishers managed by local communities in Bukittinggi during the Dutch colonial administration. Sixteen of the eighteen Kaba books that were printed were republished from the publisher Pustaka Indonesia. This research uses the republishing of Kaba books by Kristal Multimedia publisher as its material object. The formal object is doxa which the publisher of Kristal Multimedia expresses. The purpose of this study is to determine the background that causes the publishers of Kristal Multimedia to continue operating and is serious about republishing Kaba books. The research method used is qualitative research methods with interview data collection techniques and the use of documents. The theory used in this research is the arena of cultural production proposed by Pierre Bourdieu, focus the discussion of doxa, heterodoxa and orthodoxa. Doxa expressed by Kristal Multimedia publisher is heterodoxa, contradicting the doksa expressed by the publisher Pustaka Indonesia as a publisher that also produces school and religious textbooks. Kristal Multimedia Publisher focuses on all its publications in Minangkabau cultural books, such as the Kaba book.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the forms the other towards women in the novel Kogoeru Kiba by Nonami Asa. Data were collected from a Japanese novel entitled Kogoeru Kiba by Nonami Asa using qualitative methods with content analysis techniques and then analyzed using Simone de Beauvoir's existential feminism perspective (Beauvoir, 1989) described descriptively. The results of the analysis are three marginalities obtained from colleagues, general public and from husband. Women are marginalized because they do things that are considered not domestic field than what women should do. Women are considered to do something that should only be done by men. Future research is expected to discuss the resistance to marginality experienced by female figure by using existential feminism. Keywords: Feminist existence; Kogoeru Kiba; marginality; the other Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perempuan sebagai other dalam novel Kogoeru Kiba karya Nonami Asa. Data dikumpulkan dari novel bahasa jepang berjudul Kogoeru Kiba karya Nonami Asa menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi lalu dianalisis menggunakan perspektif feminisme eksistensi Simone de Beauvoir (Beauvoir, 1989) dijabarkan dengan deskriptif. Hasil analisis yang didapatkan adalah berupa tiga marginalitas yang didapatkan dari rekan kerja, masyarakat umum dan dari suami. Perempuan dimarginalkan karena melakukan sesuatu yang dianggap bukan ranah domestik dari yang seharusnya dilakukan oleh perempuan. Perempuan dianggap mengerjakan sesuatu yang seharusnya hanya dikerjakan laki-laki. Penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan dapat membahas mengenai perlawanan terhadap marginalitas yang di alami tokoh perempuan dengan menggunakan feminisme eksistensi. Abstract

This paper seeks to reveal the existence of the modern literary genre of Minangkabau, in the repertoire of modern Indonesian literature. Modern Minangkabau literature was detected existed since the 1930s through the printed media of the time. But the genre only showed its entity in the 1960s through Nasrul Siddik's short stories recorded in Saputangan Sirah Baragi (1966). The anthology of this short story gives a firm limit to the existence of the Minangkabau modern literary genre, and the kaba genre by strengthening its epigons in local print media, such as writers in the Aman Makmur newspaper , Singgalang , Semangat , and so on in the modern Indonesian literary horizon. So that it becomes a new hegemony in the modern Minangkabau literature repertoire in particular.

Abstract

This research is a study of legends Urang Kayo Hitam in the cities of Jambi, Puti Kacang Mayang di Pekanbaru, and Malin Kundang in Padang in Indonesia. Legend is still alive and has a role in society today, but its existence is nullified by logic because it is considered absurd and out of date. This role can be seen in its hegemony in literature and the environment. This study discusses the hegemony of legends in literature and the local environment. This study is important to show the position and importance of the legend today. This research uses qualitative methods with hegemony theory. The results of the study, found the hegemony of legends in each city literary creativity and the environment. The hegemony is the domination of legends in the creation of various forms and genres of literary works, creation of environmental sites that are vital to people's lives, digital industrial promotion media and services, preservation of values, infrastructure names, and city or place icons.

Abstract

This article aims to reveal the meaning behind the expelled events contained in the Kunaung Putri Bungsu Rindu Sekian and the Kunaung Si Kamba Paya. The semiological theory of Roland Barthes is applied to reveal the symbolic foundation that wraps the discourse of these two ancients. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method by analyzing the data in the form of words, sentences, paragraphs and even the discourse contained in the kunaung text. The results of the analysis show that kunaung becomes a symbolic code as a curtain of reason to silence the collective tragedy of the past so that it does not become a collective disease in the Kerinci community. The two kunaung have become the harmonious ideals of the ancestors of the Kerinci people for life in the future. Kunaung acts as a tool to voice these ideals.Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap makna di balikperistiwaterusir yang terdapat dalam kunaung Putri Bungsu Rindu Sekian dan kunaung Si Kamba Paya.Teori semiologi Roland Barthes diterapkan untuk mengungkap tumpuan simbol yang membungkus wacana dalam kedua kunaung ini.Penelitian ini ialah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif dengan menganalisis data berupa kata, kalimat, paragraf, bahkan wacana yang terdapat pada teks kunaung.Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwakunaung menjadi kode simbolik yang bermakna sebagai tirai nalar untuk membungkam tragedi kolektif masa lalu supaya tidak menjadi luka kolektif dalam masyarakat Kerinci. Kedua kunaung itu menjadi cita-cita harmonis nenek moyang orang Kerinci untuk kehidupan di masa depan. Kunaung berperan sebagai alat untuk menyuarakan cita-cita tersebut.

Abstract

This article describes the armaments in the Cindua Mato kaba story. Through a structural approach and analysis of intrinsic elements, there are several descriptions of armaments in this kaba story. War equipments in the story of Kaba Cindua Mato are not only weapons. The domestic animal, the buffalo Si Binuang, is also used as a tool of war in this kaba story. The use of insects, bees, and wasps is also an instrument of war in the Cindua Mato kaba. In addition, knowledge of nature is a means of successful war strategy. Using large stones on the hill and tanyo-tanyo betel leaves is a form of knowledge about Minangkabau nature. The description of armaments in the Cindua Mato kaba story indirectly shows the Minangkabau people's knowledge of technology that utilizes nature. Using camin api combined with sunlight also shows relatively high technological knowledge.

Abstract

Nagari Andaleh is a village in Batipuh District, Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province. This Nagari is rich with potential natural resources and human resources. Currently, this Nagari has become one of the tourist destinations in Tanah Datar Regency. The problem faced by the Nagari is the problem of branding and positioning tourist destinations. The purpose of this activity is to empower human resources to utilize natural resources as tourist destinations and develop the competitiveness of destination products to markets outside Tanah Datar Regency, accelerating the diffusion of technology and management from universities to partners. In particular, the purpose of the activity is to explore and build branding and positioning of tourist destinations in the Nagari. The activity is carried out in 3 stages. The first stage of preparation begins with socialization, contacting the Nagari government and related parties to determine the schedule of activities, and compiling activity modules, and preparing for the implementation of activities. The stage of implementing activities in the aspect of destination with destination quality control methods, training methods on strengthening Nagari institutions, branding and positioning development workshops, training methods for destination creation, and consulting. The final stage is the implementation of monitoring and evaluation of activities. The results of the activities are creating branding and positioning of Nagari tourist destinations, improving quality and destinations that are following natural resources, developing destination design innovations, and improving quality so that they can target the destination market. Mentoring activities need to be continued to help Nagari build tourist destinations Nagari Andaleh continues to grow.
