Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the competence of automotive workshop MSMEs in mastering microcontroller-based starter system technology, enabling them to adapt to the era of vehicle digitalization. The program was carried out through several stages: identification of training needs, delivery of basic theory on microcontrollers and starter systems, practical sessions in module assembly and programming, followed by mentoring and evaluation. The results of the evaluation showed an 85% increase in participants’ understanding of the digital starter system concept, an 80% improvement in module assembly and programming skills, and a 75% increase in readiness to apply innovative starter systems in workshop services. The novelty of this activity lies in the development of a more applicable digital starter system model tailored to the needs of small-scale workshops. The implementation emphasized a participatory, practice-based approach using learning by doing. Participants, mainly workshop owners and technicians, were guided step by step from component recognition, software operation with Arduino IDE, to the prototyping of functional microcontroller-based starter systems. To ensure sustainability, the program also provided training modules, video tutorials, and online mentoring, allowing participants to continue practicing independently after the training. Beyond improving technical competence, this activity also fostered an innovative mindset among participants, making them more confident to provide modern, technology-oriented services. In the long term, the program is expected to enhance the competitiveness of automotive MSMEs, strengthen customer trust, and build collaborative networks between higher education institutions and local workshops in supporting vocational education and digital transformation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of the Odd Semester Final Summative Questions for the Automotive Basic Engineering Subject for Class X SMK TKM Pertambangan Kebumen using the Anates V4 Application. The exam question data, answer keys, and all students' answers were collected through data collection documentation techniques. Furthermore, using the Anates version 4.02 program, item analysis will be carried out to assess the validity, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminatory power, and effectiveness of distractors. This research method is quantitative descriptive research, the data analyzed is not used to accept or reject the hypothesis; instead, the results of the analysis show a description of the observed symptoms, which are represented by numbers or coefficients between variables. The results showed that 95% of the odd semester final summative questions for the Automotive Basic Engineering subject for Class X SMK TKM Pertambangan Kebumen using the Anates V4 Application had validity, with 5% being invalid. For reliability, the questions had a reliability coefficient of 0.78, which indicated that it had a high coefficient. Furthermore, based on the level of difficulty, 2% were included in the easy category; 40% were included in the moderate category; 55% are in the difficult category; and 3% are in the very difficult category. In terms of discrimination power, 25% are in the good category; 57% are in the sufficient category; and 18% are in the poor category. All distractors function well on 90% of the questions.

Abstract

Vocational education in Indonesia plays a crucial role in improving the quality of a skilled workforce ready to face the challenges of the industrial world. One vocational field that receives special attention is the Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) study program, where body electrical engineering is one of the main subjects taught. Body electrical engineering is a crucial aspect of vehicle maintenance and repair, where a thorough understanding of electrical engineering is essential for operating and repairing electrical systems within vehicles. However, in practice, obstacles are often encountered in the process of learning body electrical engineering, particularly in terms of student interest and learning outcomes. Many students feel a lack of interest in this subject, which causes them to not optimally absorb the material. One way to address this problem is to implement a learning model that can foster interest in learning and improve student learning outcomes. One such model is Project-Based Learning (PjBL). PjBL is a learning model that prioritizes active student involvement in completing real-life projects relevant to the material being studied. Through this model, students are expected to learn in a more applicable and enjoyable way, which in turn can improve their understanding and learning outcomes. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the PjBL learning model in increasing the interest and learning outcomes of electrical engineering of class XI students at SMK Taman Karya Madya Pertambangan Kebumen.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low activeness and learning outcomes of students in the subject of Automotive Electrical Systems. The aim of the research was to improve the activeness and learning outcomes of Grade XI TKR 2 students at SMK Giripuro Sumpiuh through the implementation of the discovery learning model. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in three cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 42 students, while the objects of the study included student activeness and learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using quantitative analysis techniques. The results showed an increase in student activeness, namely 52.38% in the first cycle, increasing to 64.29% in the second cycle, and reaching 74.79% in the third cycle. Learning outcomes also improved, with an average score of 47.62% in the first cycle, 64.29% in the second cycle, and 88.10% in the third cycle. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the discovery learning model can improve student activeness and learning outcomes in Automotive Electrical Systems for Grade XI TKR 2 students at SMK Giripuro Sumpiuh

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve the quality of vocational education by strengthening the management of the Teaching Factory (TeFa) at SMK Muhammadiyah Purwodadi. This model requires active student involvement in the production of goods or services in accordance with workplace standards, thereby fostering technical, managerial, and professional competencies. The implementation method uses a participatory and collaborative approach, encompassing four main stages: (1) identifying the needs and readiness of target schools, (2) developing training materials based on the results of the needs analysis, (3) implementing TeFa management training using a problem-solving approach and hands-on practice, and (4) providing post-training mentoring and evaluation. The results of the activity demonstrated a significant improvement in the managerial and technical capabilities of TeFa managers. Based on the evaluation results, participants were able to develop a production management plan integrated with the curriculum. In addition, training participants successfully implemented the concept of industrial cooperation in learning activities. Positive impacts were also seen from the increase in student participation in production projects and the increasing variety of workshop service products managed by the School. Thus, this training model can be used as a reference for other vocational schools in developing productive, innovative, and competitive TeFa management.
