Abstract

Self Disclosure adalah pengungkapan tentang informasi diri yang dilakukan pada orang lain. Remaja yang memiliki kelekatan buruk dengan orangtua cenderung tidak ingin melakukan self disclosure, karena merasa tidak ada yang akan peduli dan dapat dipercaya untuk berbagi. Padahal self disclosure adalah aspek penting dalam perkembangan kemampuan sosial. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk melihat apakah terdapat korelasi parent attachment dan self disclosure pada remaja tengah di Kota Bukittinggi. Subjek penelitian ini merupakan 130 remaja tengah berusia 15-17 tahun yang diperoleh melalui teknik random sampling. Analisis data dengan bantuan IBM SPSS 25 menggunakan teknik korelasi product moment. Hasil uji hipotesis memperoleh diperoleh nilai korelasi sebesar 0,525 dan signifikansi sebesar 0,000 artinya p < 0,01. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi yang positif antar kedua variabel. Semakin tinggi tingkat parent attachment maka akan semakin tinggi tingkat self disclosure, begitu juga sebaliknya.

Abstract

Social competence is an individual’s skill or capacity that relates to other people and participates in a fun social context. One of the influences of social competence is the attachment between parents and children. Teens who have high attachment will have high social competence and vice versa. The purpose of this research is to see the relationship between attachment and social competence of adolescents in West Sumatra. Participants in this study were 150 adolescents aged 15-17 years. The technique used in this research is random sampling. The analytical method used is the person product moment correlation test with the help of SPSS 20.0 for windows.
