Abstract

A. paniculata (Sambiloto) is a plant capable of producing various secondary metabolites which use in the field of pharmacology, one of which is as a source of antibacterial compounds. This potential can be explored from endophytic fungi associated with A. paniculata. The purpose was to determine the effectiveness of the antibacterial activity of the endophytic fungi RS-2 from branches of A. paniculata using red rice as the media. The stages of the research included isolation of the fungi, cultivation, extraction, antibacterial test, and test of the phytochemical of the endophytic fungi on branches of A. paniculata. The effectiveness test of antibacterial activity against the extract of the RS-2 endophytic fungi showed that the endophytic fungi extract had the potential to inhibit the growth of the three tested bacteria at concentrations of 10%, 30%, and 50%. The ethyl acetate extract of the endophytic fungi RS-2 from A. paniculata has the potential as a source of antibacterial compounds using red rice media.

Abstract

Sambiloto plant (A. paniculata) is widely reported to have secondary metabolites that act as antibacterial. The potential is not only derived from the natural A. paniculata plant but can also be explored from its endophytic fungus. This study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity of ethyl acetate extract of endophytic fungus BS isolated from bitter flower (A. paniculata) on black rice growing media against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria. The antibacterial activity test of the extract was carried out by disc diffusion method. The results obtained showed that the ethyl acetate extract of BS endophytic fungus grown on black rice media showed activity to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus mutans, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria at concentrations of 10%, 30%, and 50%. In conclusion, the ethyl acetate extract of the endophytic mushroom BS isolated from the bitter flower (A. paniculata) can be used as an antibacterial.

Abstract

MAKİNG COMPOST FERTİLİZER FROM COFFEE PEEL WASTE İN THE NAGARİ KOTO TUO COFFEE-PRODUCİNG AREA, WEST SUMATRA. Coffee husk waste in the Nagari Koto Tuo coffee producing area is not used optimally. It just became a pile of garbage in several places. The others were burned which can cause health problems in the future. One alternative to manage coffee husk waste is to fermentate it into compost. The community service for the bioconversion of coffee husk waste into fertilizer is carried out in three steps. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of the community in utilizing coffee skin waste. The practice of making compost was carried out in a composter using the EM-4 bioactivator. The achievement obtained from this community service was that participants were able to understand the bioconversion process of coffee skin waste into compost, which was proven by the percentage of knowledge and skills (greater than 80%).

Abstract

COUNSELING ON MAKING BOKASHI FERTILIZER FROM CHICKEN MANURE AND HUSK ASH IN NAGARI MUNGKA. Community activities in the field of livestock are growing in Nagari Mungka, especially raising chickens. However, the processing of chicken manure waste is not handled properly. This may be due to the lack of public knowledge about this waste processing technique. This counseling aims to improve the knowledge and skills of chicken farmers in making bokashi fertilizer from chicken feces in Nagari Mungka, Lima Puluh Kota District. Bokashi fertilizer is a type of organic fertilizer that uses decomposers in the manufacturing process. The basic ingredients for this bokashi fertilizer are chicken feces, husk ash, bran and EM4. The counseling activity includes presentation of material, demonstration and evaluation of activity. Chicken farmers receive the knowledge about the benefits of bokashi fertilizer, how to make it and how to market it if it has the potential to be sold. This activity has a great influence on chicken farmers because this activity is very useful and right on target. Chicken farmers look enthusiastic in participating in the activities. The result of this community service activity is the increased knowledge and skills of breeders in processing chicken manure into bokashi fertilizer and have the desire to try and apply it.

Abstract

IMPROVİNG THE PROFESSİONAL COMPETENCE OF MGMP CHEMİSTRY İN PASAMAN REGENCY AS STUDENT COACHES FACİNG THE NATİONAL SCİENCE OLYMPİAD (OSN). Teacher training for National Science Olympiad (OSN) coaches is carried out as an effort to improve the professional competence of the Pasaman Regency Chemistry MGMP to prepare students to take part in competitions at the district and provincial levels. The ability of teachers prior to participating in the training was identified using pre-tests originating from OSN questions for the last five years. The training was carried out through analysis of OSN-K (City/District Level) and OSN-P (Provincial Level) questions for the last 5 years in 5 groups, and each group made written discussions which were compiled into modules that could be used by the trainees to prepare students in their respective schools. After that, discussions on HOTS questions in the fields of Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry and Biochemistry were given by the resource persons. At the end of the activity, a final test is given to see the effectiveness of the training. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed an increase in participants' understanding of 23.51. In addition, the response to the activity evaluation questionnaire obtained an average questionnaire of 3.47 (scale 4), which means that the training is in the good category.

Abstract

Andrographis paniculata (Sambiloto) adalah anggota famili Acanthaceae yang memproduksi beragam metabolit sekunder dan berpotensi sebagai senyawa antioksidan.  Disamping dari tumbuhan alaminya, senyawa antioksidan dari A. paniculata juga dapat diperoleh melalui jamur yang berkolonisasi di dalam jaringannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sifat antioksidan dan komponen fitokimia pada jamur endofitik BS-1 yang berkolonisasi dalam jaringan bunga A. paniculata menggunakan beras merah sebagai media pertumbuhan. Metode penelitian terdiri dari beberapa tahapan yang dimulai dari inokulasi, optimasi, kultivasi, maserasi, analisis antioksidan dan analisis metabolit sekunder dari jamur endofitik BS-1 pada bunga A. paniculata. Analisis antioksidan pada ekstrak EtOAc jamur endofitik BS-1 dilakukan mengikuti metode DPPH. Nilai IC50 yang didapatkan adalah 91,56 ppm menunjukkan ekstrak EtOAc jamur endofitik BS-1 mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dengan kateorgi kuat.

Abstract

Belakangan ini usaha peternakan burung puyuh semakin berkembang di Nagari Mungka. Namun pengolahan kotoran burung puyuh dari aktivitas ini belum ditangani dengan baik. Hal ini disebabkan masih minimnya pengetahuan peternak tentang teknologi pengolahan limbah kotoran puyuh. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan peternak burung puyuh tentang pemanfaatan kotoran burung puyuh menjadi pupuk bokashi dan pakan lele, sehingga berpotensi untuk meningkatkan profit usaha peternak burung puyuh di masa mendatang. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan dua cara yaitu dengan memberikan teori dan demonstrasi pembuatan pupuk bokashi dan pakan lele dari kotoran burung puyuh. Edukasi yang diberikan berupa pengetahuan tentang dampak negatif dari kotoran burung puyuh dan manfaatnya jika diolah menjadi pupuk bokashi dan pakan lele, serta bagaimana strategi pemasarannya. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan mengisi kuesioner oleh peternak dan meninjau hasil pelatihan. Dari hasil kuesioner diketahui hampir 80-100% pengetahuan peternak meningkat setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Ini merupakan ilmu baru bagi peternak dan kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat khususnya bagi peternak burung puyuh. Recently, the quail farming business has been growing in Nagari Mungka. However, the processing of quail feces of this activity has not been properly treated. This is due to the lack of knowledge of farmers about technology of this quail feces waste treatment. This training aims to increase the knowledge of quail farmers on the use of quail feces into bokashi fertilizer and catfish feed, so that it has the potential to increase their business profits in the future. The implementation method is carried out in two ways, namely by providing theory and demonstrating on making bokashi fertilizer and catfish feed from quail feces. The education provided is in the form of knowledge about the negative impact of quail feces and the benefits of quail feces if it is processed into bokashi fertilizer and catfish feed, as well as marketing strategies. Evaluation is carried out by filling out questionnaires by farmers and reviewing the results of the training. From the results of the questionnaire, it is known that almost 80-100% of the knowledge of farmers increase after participating in the training. This is new knowledge for farmers and this activity is very useful, especially for quail farmers.

Abstract

Sambiloto (Androgaphis paniculata) merupakan salah satu tanaman obat herbal yang banyak digunakan sebagai obat tradisional di Indonesia. A. paniculata dapat mengobati pilek, demam, radang tenggorokan, gangguan pencernaan dan penyakit lainnya. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian sebelumnya, A. paniculata dapat menghasilkan metabolit sekunder diantaranya alkaloid, fenolik, terpenoid, dan steroid yang memiliki bioaktvitas sebagai antioksidan, antikanker, dan antibakterial. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan dari jamur RS-1 yang diisolasi dari A. paniculata menggunakan media beras hitam sebagai media pertumbuan. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan jamur endofitik dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2­-picryhydrazyl) dengan tujuan untuk mengskrining aktivitas penangkap radikal dari beberapa senyawa dengan nilai IC50 72,38 ppm. Berdasarkan nilai IC50 tersebut, dapat diketahui bahwa isolat tunggal jamur RS-1 yang diisolasi dari tumbuhan A. paniculata yang dikultivasi menggunakan media beras hitam tergolong kuat. Hal ini disebabkan karena adanya  metabolit sekunder yang dihasilkan oleh  jamur endofitik RS-1. Sambiloto (Androgaphis paniculata) is one of the herbal medicinal plants that is widely used as traditional medicinal in Indonesia. A. paniculata including to treat colds, fever, sore throat, digestive disorders and others. Based on the results of previous studies, A. paniculata can produce secondary metabolites including alkaloids, phenolics, terpenoids, and steroids which have bioactivity as antioxidant, anticancer, and antibacterial. Therefore, this study aims to determine the antioxidant activity of the fungal RS-1 isolated from the A. paniculata using black rice as the medium. Testing of antioxidant activity of endophytic fungi was carried out using the DPPH (1.1-diphenyl-2-picryhydrazil) method with the aims of screening the radical scavenging activity test obtaining an IC­50 value of 72.38 ppm. Based on the IC­­50 value, it can be seen that a single isolate of endophytic fungus RS-1 isolated from the A. paniculata which was cultivated using black rice media was classified as strong. This is due to the presence of secondary metabolites produced by the endophytic fungus RS-1.

Abstract

Tumbuhan Andrographis paniculata menghasilkan beragam metabolit sekunder yang memiliki berbagai aktivitas biologis termasuk antioksidan. Senyawa antioksidan pada tumbuhan ini juga dapat dieksplorasi dari jamur endofitik yang berasosiasi dengan ranting tumbuhan A. Paniculata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan jamur endofitik RS-1 dari ranting tumbuhan A. Paniculata menggunakan media beras merah. Tahapan penelitian meliputi isolasi, optimasi, kultivasi, ekstraksi, uji antioksidan menggunakan metode 2,2-difenil-1-pikrihidrazil (DPPH) dan uji kandungan metabolit sekunder dari jamur endofitik RS-1 dari ranting tumbuhan A. Paniculata. Berdasarkan hasil uji kandungan metabolit sekunder menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etil asetat jamur endofitik RS-1 mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yaitu senyawa fenolik, steroid, dan alkaloid. Uji aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etil asetat jamur endofitik RS-1 terhadap radikal bebas DPPH menggunakan spektrofometer Uv-vis dengan panjang gelombang 517 nm memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang kuat dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 92,9 ppm.

Abstract

Tumbuhan sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata) merupakan tumbuhan yang banyak tersebar yang salah satu di Asia Tenggara yaitu Indo-China. Sambiloto banyak dimanfaatkan untuk mengobati diare, demam, dan malaria. Penelitian melaporkan sambiloto positif mengandung senyawa bioaktif dan dapat menangkal radikal bebas atau memilikki sifat antioksidan. Potensi senyawa antioksidan dari tumbuhan ini dapat dikaji lebih lanjut dari jamur yang berasosiasi dengan akar tumbuhan sambiloto. Hasil inokulasi menghasilkan jamur endofitik dengan kode AS-1 dengan menggunakan beras merah sebagai media pertumbuhan. Uji aktivitas antiosidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH (2,2-Defenil-1-Pikrilhirazil) . Nilai IC50 yang didapatkan adalah 118 ppm yang menunjukkan ekstrak EtOAc jamur endofitik AS-1 mempunyai aktivitas antiosidan dengan kategori rentang yang sedang.
