Abstract

2000 times of downtime had been occurred during year 2013 to 2014 in Tjoekir sugar factory. The most serious downtime occurred in mill. Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) was employed to analyze the probability score and implement Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to find out impact score of risk event. The results of FTA indicate that risk event in cane cutter blade had the highest probability score, while results of AHP shows that the decrease of steam pressure in turbine drive had the highest impact score. The scores classified in risk class and mapped in risk matrix show that there were three risk events. Tjoekir has to set a conveyor gate to filter canes before being received by the machine, use blades with the thickness not exceed 22 cm to avoid fatigue, and check harvested cane thoroughly that is loaded onto carriers to ensure no machete is accidently loaded with the cane.

Abstract

Abstract Performance appraisal is a key factor to develop an effective and efficient. Employees faced with a structured and systematic assessment to measure the achievements of the work. Unsatisfaction performance appraisal methods can be a polemical. It happens because of the gap between the expected value to the value of actual performance. Rating scale is one method affected bias and hallo effect. Therefore, it is necessary to design assessment methods better performance. The method of this research is 360 degree feedback. 360 degree feedback is methods in which employees receive confidential, anonymous feedback from the people who work around them. There are 24 employees were assessed in this study. The design competencies and sub-competencies in the performance appraisal form with a 360-degree feedback method prepared by adapting the managerial core competency.Based on 360 degree feedback method, there are many employees who get increased performance assessment compared to the previous assessment method. The increase was influenced by the contribution value of the co-workers, subordinates and themselves.

Abstract

Pelican Crossing is one of  facilities that available in Malang City for pedestrians. Although it had been provided, pedestrians sometimes donot utilize this pelican crossing. This research would be carried out a comparative analysis of pelican crossing utilization and road user behavior on Veteran and MT Haryono street. Worksampling was used to determine the utilization of pelican crossing. From this study, pelican crossing utilization in Veteran street higher than in MT Haryono street during weekday at 51%. The behavior of road users could be seen in the breakdown of activities undertaken at the time of observation. The behavior of road users tend to be more dicipline in the pelican crossing in MT Haryono compared with Veterans.Percentage of incompatibility used of pelican crossing by road users at Veteran's higher than MT Haryono. Incompatibility use of pelican crossing due to the ignorance of community about crossing facilities, undicipline behavior of road user and malfunction of the pelican crossing

Abstract

The sustainable and economic development of the fishing industry is heavily dependent upon the choice of raw materials used in fish fodder. Furthermore, an inappropriate amount or nutritional quality of fodder will impede the health and growth of the farmed fish. This work therefore aims to determine the feasibility of substituting snail flour for fishmeal in fodder. The experimental and statistical results indicated no significant nutritional difference between fodder synthesized with fishmeal or snail flour as the protein source. Therefore, snail flour can be used to replace fishmeal used in milkfish fodder without negatively affecting the health of the milkfish.

Abstract

Fruit Chip is one of the most well known Small Medium Enterprise’s products in Batu Malang. This is due to the high number of fruit production produced in this city. In selling their products, local Small Medium Enterprise have to face the highly competition from other producers as well who also produced similar products. The increasing number of tourists who came into Batu City also encouraging local Small Medium Enterprises to capture this opportunity by producing food souvenirs such as fruit chip. Therefore, every local Small Medium Enterprises should make continuous improvements in all areas as well as improving the quality of their products especially to maintain and attract the consumers. One of the key areas that need to be developed is marketing by conducting marketing research. This marketing research is conducted by observing the marketing environment (X1) and marketing mix-7P’s (X2) towards the customer satisfaction (Y) using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Based on the regression analysis, we can conclude that there is significant correlation between marketing mix towards customer satisfaction. The most influential variable in marketing mix is employee, promotion, process, and places. While the biggest influence in marketing environment is new entrants and customer variables.

Abstract

Workforce planning is a crucial aspect of optimizing labor efficiency in the Soya Department, particularly given fluctuating demand during peak, regular, and low seasons. This study aims to evaluate and recommend workforce planning using Workload Analysis (WLA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to identify workload imbalances and their root causes. The Process Activity Mapping (PAM) method is employed to analyze each general activity in detail. Initial findings indicate that certain areas experience workload overload, particularly in the warehouse section, where workloads exceed 125% during low season and 133.3% in regular and peak seasons. By adjusting manpower allocation, workload levels were successfully balanced to 100% (inload condition) across all seasons. Furthermore, FTA identified key factors contributing to workload imbalances, such as inefficient task distribution and process delays. The proposed manpower planning strategy significantly reduces dependency on overtime and outsourced labor, leading to increased productivity and cost efficiency. This research provides a structured framework for workforce optimization, offering practical insights for labor management in fluctuating demand environments.
