Abstract

The formal gender role in Indonesia is legitimized by laws, culture and religion. In family context, women’s role is contructed as a secondary and a complementary role altough women, basically, play an important role for the family continuity. Furthermore, cultural legitimacy which is regulated in the marital laws puts the role of women as alienated role, from the equal position with men to inequal one, in daily practices. As a result, married women’s position may be alienated in the family. This phenomena needs attention and deep disscussion from social scientists particularly those who are concerned with women issues (and moslems women) for the sake of gender equity as well as gender equility realization in Indonesia.

Abstract

Recent series of widely-published sexual harassment at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang arise a question on how this Islamic campus handles the situation and promotes institutional change. This research examines sexual harassment and the way the UIN deals with it. It employs participatory action research to make it possible for researchers and stakeholders to work together to find out the strategies to prevent sexual harassment. This research obtains three strategies to prevent and combat sexual harassment including comprehensive planning strategies, infrastructure development, and building key partnerships. These partnerships include revitalizing the functions of the academic counselor, conducting campaigns against sexual harassment, building a positive-content website, integrating sexual education with the learning curriculum, and keeping relationships with the surrounding sub-district heads for the students’ control. Further research is supposed to examine and reflect on the result of the respected actions to find out the most suitable prevention, intervention, and policy protocols for Islamic higher education.     AbstrakSerangkaian pelecehan seksual yang dipublikasikan secara luas di Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang baru-baru ini menimbulkan pertanyaan tentang bagaimana kampus Islam ini menangani situasi dan mendorong perubahan kelembagaan. Penelitian ini mengkaji pelecehan seksual dan cara UIN menanganinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian aksi partisipatif agar peneliti dan pemangku kepentingan dapat bekerja sama untuk mengetahui strategi pencegahan pelecehan seksual. Penelitian ini memperoleh tiga strategi untuk mencegah dan memberantas pelecehan seksual antara lain strategi perencanaan yang komprehensif, pembangunan infrastruktur, dan membangun kemitraan kunci. Kemitraan tersebut mencakup revitalisasi fungsi konselor akademik, kampanye anti pelecehan seksual, pembuatan situs web yang berisi konten positif, pemaduan pendidikan seksual dengan kurikulum pembelajaran, dan menjaga hubungan dengan camat di sekitarnya untuk dikontrol siswa. Penelitian lebih lanjut diharapkan untuk memeriksa dan merefleksikan hasil dari tindakan yang dihormati untuk menemukan protokol pencegahan, intervensi, dan kebijakan yang paling sesuai untuk perguruan tinggi Islam.

Abstract

The Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) language strongly indicates the sociolinguistic phenomenon as it reflects gender marking in language use. This study aims to explore how the Arabic letters attributed to specific gender identities, how the gender ideology of Arab culture create gender biases, and how the biases influence Arab social structure. It uses aspects of masculinity and femininity of Arabic letters that affect gender inequality and order of values on language, tradition and culture. Masculine letters are letters that have the property of being able to hold and entail other letters, while feminine letters that have the nature can be attached with other letters but cannot be attached. In this study, Arabic letters were mapped by observing their use in written and oral interaction in the contexts of Arab as first and second language. This research is a qualitative in nature. The data on ideology's influence on social structure were collected through interviews with three key informants representing their areas of expertise on language anthropology, sociolinguistic, and applied linguistic. The morphological analysis was carried out to identify the internal structure of the words. The sociolinguistic analysis explored the linguistic construction that to social construction. The finding showed that their internal structures, these letters were classified as masculine or feminine. From the sociolinguistic point of view, gender issues following social construction that has already formed gender relations. In other words, Arabic letters affect the order of values that tend to be gender-biased in the Arabic context.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia influenced the public health sector and disrupted childcare work, especially for those in dense settlements and classified as low-income households. This research aims at helping densely populated communities to provide care facilities by optimizing free children’s playgrounds and learning spaces to support children’s physical and psychological growth and development during the pandemic. By employing the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, this study generated two main results, first, “Taman Momong”, the child-friendly park, equipped with children’s playground facilities. Second, the park also has a mini library for children with various educational activities needed by the community such as parenting workshops that integrate children’s rights perspective, training on the use of Moringa and Aloe Vera plants to improve family nutrition, including children's nutrition, and training on herbal medicines to maintain family health. Thus, “Taman Momong” as a green space is beneficial in improving the physical and mental health of the community. Moreover, community activities at “Taman Momong” indicates that the park plays an important role in overcoming parenting problems during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research also found that collaboration between society with the government is essential in building public facilities such as child-friendly parks to support childcare work. This study recommends other communities adopt “Taman Momong” model to enhance their health status and childcare quality.

Abstract

This article provides the academic report on the administration of community service program to develop cultural tourism in Ngabab village, Pujon, Malang. The program aims at identifying Ngabab’s potentials of cultural tourism, empowering the village’s stakeholders, particularly the youths, and forming tourism movement communities. Participatory Action Research (PAR) method is applied by following five sequential steps: problem identification, planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result of the study shows that developing the potentials of cultural tourism in Ngabab village is viable through focus group discussion, capacity building on short film production, website design, and guiding/tourism service, and establishment of tourism awareness group and film community. The program sustainability may be guaranteed by mutual cooperation with the Ministry of tourism affairs, private companies, and any related stakeholders in the regency.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas psikologis pendamping/konselor pasangan muda dalam membentuk keluarga Sakinah di Kelurahan Tunjungsekar. Melalui pengabdian ini pelatihan peningkatan kapasitas psikologis juga mampu menurunkan angka perceraian di kelurahan Tunjungsekar. Subjek pendampingan dalam pengabdian ini para konselor/pendamping pasangan muda, stakeholder kelurahan yang mampu medampingi dan mebimbing masyarakat secara langsung. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksankan melalui empat tahapan, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi serta follow up lanjutan.  Persiapan dilakukan dengan need assessment melalui IGD (Intensive Group Discussion) dan observasi untuk mengetahui kondisi keluarga di Kelurahan Tunjungsekar. Pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan pelatihan kepada para pendamping/konselor tentang kapasitas psikologis yang harus dimiliki dilanjutkan dengan diskusi, praktek teori, pembentukan struktur pengurus pendamping/konselor. Sementara kegiatan evaluasi dan rencana tindak lanjut kegiatan dilakukan untuk melihat tingkat pemahaman peserta pada materi dan melihat keberhasilan program pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh para pendamping/konselor. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan kapasitas psikologis yang dimiliki oleh para pendamping dan terlaksananya proses pendampingan kepada keluarga pasangan muda di kelurahan Tunjungsekar dengan optimal.Kata Kunci: Kapasitas Psikologis, Keluarga Sakinah, Konselor

Abstract

Learning Arabic that is designed effectively will produce graduates who are competent in their fields. And a good Arabic learning design is identical to the use of materials, methods, strategies, media, and approaches that are appropriate to the situation and conditions, as well as the learning objectives to be achieved. This study aims to analyze the differences in the Arabic language learning curriculum at STIBA Ar-Rayah and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim. This study uses a qualitative approach, using a descriptive approach. As well as the technique of data collection is done by observation, interviews and utilizing documents that have to do with the title of the study. Assnd based on the results of research and comparative analysis of Arabic learning at STIBA Ar-Raayah and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim which are seen from the objectives, processes, methods, aspects of learning, media, as well as the evaluation of Arabic learning, there are differences and similarities in the learning curriculum used. of both.

Abstract

جنبا إلى جنب مع تطوير المناهج الدراسية في إندونيسيا كانت هناك تغييرات من وقت لآخر حتى الآن يسمى المنهج المستقل. الفلسفة التقدمية لديها هدف للنهوض بالتعليم ، بحيث التعليم كن مؤهلا وقدم فوائد ملموسة للمتعلمين. الغرض في هذه الدراسة هو مناقشة كيفية وجهة نظر مدرسة الفلسفة التقدمية ضد تعلم اللغة العربية في المناهج المستقلة. هذه الدراسة عبارة عن بحث نوعي وصفي باستخدام الطريقة بحوث المكتبة. نتائج البيانات المقدمة من الطريقة الاستنتاجية من نظرية عامة تنتهي في خاتمة. وأظهرت النتائج أن تعلم اللغة العربية في المنهج المستقل هو التعلم القائم مشروع ، تعاوني ، قائم على التكنولوجيا ، مستقل ، حل المشكلات. في السياق فلسفة التقدمية ، تعلم اللغة العربية يقدم نهجا مبتكر يتيح للمتعلمين تعلم اللغة العربية بطريقة أكثر وضوحا وتشارك بنشاط في عملية التعلم. مع تكامل الاستراتيجية التعلم ذات الصلة والتركيز على تطوير مهارات التفكير الحرجة والإبداعية.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of the post-positivist and constructivist paradigms on public policy in Indonesia from an academic perspective. The main focus of this research is how the two paradigms affect policy formulation, implementation, and evaluation. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with a focus on literature analysis. Data sources come from several academic works related to post-positivism, constructivism, and public policy in Indonesia. The findings of this study show that while the post-positivist paradigm contributes to the development of a data-driven approach to multiple perspectives, the constructivist paradigm emphasizes the need to understand local social and cultural dynamics in decision-making. Both paradigms are highly effective in producing public policies that are more inclusive and accountable to the needs of the general public. The implication is that Indonesian policymakers should adopt a more critical and contextual approach to policymaking, and improve the application of epistemological principles in the policy development process. This research contributes to the development of philosophy of science discourse in the context of governance, particularly in Indonesia, by offering an alternative perspective to support more effective and successful governance.
