Abstract

Abstrak ___________________________________________________________________ Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat persepsi siswa terhadap penerapan pendekatan saintifik kelas VIII D SMPN 7 Muaro Jambi Tahun Pelajaran 2018/2019 dalam materi teks eksplanasi. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sebuah fenomena bahwa menggunakan pendekatan yang tepat dalam mengajar dapat menumbuhkan minat belajar siswa, metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester ganjil pada tanggal 25 pebruari sampai 28 pebruari 2019. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan cara menyebarkan angket kepada siswa (sebagai data utama) dan wawancara dengan guru bidang studi Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjjukkan bahwa persepsi siswa terhadap pendekatan saintifik sangat bagus dan memiliki pengaruh yang kuat dalam pembelajaran, hal itu dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan uji validitas dengan skor 0,784 dan hasil uji reabilitas dengan skor 0,784. Kemudian hasil perhitungan data dilihat dari segi deskriptif kuantitatif yang menunjjukkan terdapat pengaruh penerapan pendekatan saintifik terhadap persepsi siswa dengan skor 47,67 dan 42,43 < 0,05 (6, 314). This research [of] background by a phenomenon that using correct approach in teaching can grow enthusiasm learn student, method the used [is] quantitative method. This research [is] [done/conducted] [by] [at] anomalous semester on 25 pebruari until 28 pebruari 2019. Research data obtained by propagating enquette to student ( as especial data) and interview with Indonesian study area teacher. Result of research of that perception of student to scientific approach very good and have strong influence in study, that thing [is] proved with result of calculation of validity test with score 0,784 and result of test of reabilitas with score 0,784. Later;Then result of calculation of data seen from quantitative descriptive facet which [is] menunjjukkan there are influence of applying of scientific approach to perception of student with score 47,67 and 42,43 < 0,05 ( 6, 314). Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola argumen ilmiah dalam skripsi mahasiswa. Aargumen ilmiah merupakan hasil pemikiran mahasiswa yang dituliskan ke dalam bentuk paragraf argumentasi di dalam skripsi. Latar belakang penelitian menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis isi. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah argumen dalam tulisan yang bersumber dari skripsi mahasiswa. Analisis argumen menggunakan teori argumen Toulmin. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa argumen mahasiswa terdiri dari elemen (1) pernyataan posisi (claim), (2) data (grounds), dan (3) jaminan (warrants). Hal ini menujukkan perlu adanya pemahaman dalam menulis argumen ilmiah. Kata kunci: pola argumen, argumen ilmiah. Abstract This study aims to analyze the pattern of scientific arguments in student thesis. Scientific arguments are the results of students' thoughts which are written in the form of argumentative paragraphs in the thesis. The research background is the focus of this research. The method in this research is qualitative with content analysis approach. The data in this study are arguments in writing that come from students' thesis. The argument analysis uses Toulmin's argument theory. The results of the analysis show that the students' arguments consist of elements (1) position statements (claims), (2) data (grounds), and (3) warrants. This shows the need for understanding in writing scientific arguments. Key: argument pattern, scientific argument.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjabarkan proses pengembangan LKPD interaktif menggunakan liveworksheet, kepraktisan LKPD interaktif, dan keefektifannya. Jenis penelitian berupa pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) dengan model 4-D yaitu pendefinisian (define), pengembangan (design), perancangan (develop), dan penyebaran (disseminate). Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 17 Kota Jambi. Dalam proses pengembangan diperoleh hasil akhir validasi media dan validasi materi  dengan kategori valid. Pengembangan LKPD dapat dinyatakan efektif berdasarkan selisih nilai N-gain tes awal dan tes akhir pada kemampuan kognitif dan psikomotorik. Pada aspek kognitif diperoleh nilai N-gain sebesar 0,62 dan aspek psikomotorik diperoleh nilai N-gain sebesar 0,69. Keduanya termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, LKPD interaktif liveworksheet yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan menjadi bahan ajar pada materi teks eksplanasi pada jenjang SMP.

Abstract

Adapun tujuan diadakannya penelitian ini yakni menguraikan pengaruh model pembelajaran discovery learning terhadap keterampilan menulis teks ulasan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bungo. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian termasuk eksperimen. Sampel penelitian diperoleh dari siswa dari dua kelas dengan total 65 orang. Seluruh sampel diuji dan diambil denngan teknik purposive sampling. Selanjutnya, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, angket, tes unjuk kerja, dan dokumentasi. Data yang telah terkumpul kemudian langsung diuji dengan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis dengan bantuan SPPS 16.0. Hasil penelitian terdiri atas nilai rerata pretest kelas eksperimen (71,25) dan nilai rerata pretest kelas kontrol (69). Nilai rerata posttest kelas eksperimen (92,5) dan nilai rerata posttest kelas kontrol (55). Hasil uji hipotesis dengan Paired Samples Test yaitu nilai signifikan sebesar 0,00  yang lebih kecil daripada 0,05 sehingga Hο ditolak. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran discovery learning memberikan berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis teks ulasan siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bungo. Guru disarankan untuk menggunakan model tersebut selama kegiatan belajar mengajar untuk mendorong minat siswa dalam nenulis, membuat siswa aktif dalan kelas, dan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa.

Abstract

This article discusses the literacy skills of the Jambi Malay Traditional Seloko in the Jambi society. Jambi Malay customary Seloko is a part of Jambi Malay oral literature which contains traditional expressions containing traditional words, proverbs, pantun, admonitions, and figurative words that contain messages and mandates to be conveyed from the Seloko presented. Customary Seloko of Jambi Malay is presented to find out how society can understand and apply the contents of the Jambi Malay Customary Seloko. The analysis of this research uses qualitative with a descriptive approach and data collection through observation and interview methods. The analysis results show that the Jambi society's ability to access information on the Jambi Malay Customary Seloko still needs to be improved. Of the 13 respondents who were asked, there were only two respondents who accessed via the internet, one respondent through books, and ten others through weddings and inauguration of village heads. In evaluation information, Customary Seloko of Jambi Malay was also in a bad state because of the 91 questions asked to the respondents, only 33 questions could be answered well. In contrast, 58 of them were answered incorrectly. At the same time, in terms of the use of information, Customary Seloko of Jambi Malay can be categorized as good because all respondents stated that they always try to actualize the message of Customary Seloko of Jambi Malay in their daily lives.

Abstract

Analyzing literary works is a common thing to do as a process of meaning or giving meaning to literary works with aesthetic intensity; another term is concretization. Various approaches are offered, one of which is an objective approach, namely an approach that focuses on the literary work itself; this approach considers literary works autonomous. As an autonomous structure, a literary work can be understood as a rounded whole with building elements. Therefore, to understand its meaning, a literary work must be analyzed based on its structure, detached from various elements outside the structure of its significance. The poem "Kucari Jalan Menuju Rumahku" in the Anthology Aku Bawakan Cinta Buatmu is formed from a unique and straightforward language order but has a broad meaning and makes readers interested in his work. This study aims to analyze the meaning of the poem entitled " Kucari Jalan Menuju Rumahku" in the Anthology Aku Bawakan Cinta Buatmu by Chory Marbawi and convey the detailed content of the poem so that readers can know the meaning conveyed through this research. This research is also helpful for readers to further develop literary works in the form of poetry. The method used in this study used a descriptive method that examines the content of the meaning of poetry. In addition, the poems in this study were dissected using an objective approach.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to write persuasive texts for class VIII junior high school students through the use of image media. The instrument used in this study was a performance test of writing persuasive text. The assessment taken in writing the text is based on the structure and linguistic rules contained in the persuasion text, namely the existence of opinions or arguments, facts, and invitation sentences. Then students write persuasive texts using image media. This research is a type of descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The research data was obtained from the students' ability to write persuasive texts. The research subjects were students of class VIIIF as many as 30 students. Analysis of the data used in this study is the result of student work.The results showed that the ability to write persuasive texts using image media in every aspect got a score above the average. In the aspect of writing arguments, the score is 84, the ability to write facts is 89, and the value of the ability to write invitations is 85. The conclusions of this study indicate that the ability to write persuasive texts for class VIIIF students is in the capable category with an average score of 86. of the overall results of the assessed aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to describe social values in the Buka Rebo tradition.  The formulation of the problem in this study is what are the social values contained in the Buka Rebo tradition.  This research uses a qualitative ethnographic approach and content analysis method.  The research data sources used are divided into two, namely primary data sources and secondary data sources.  The primary data source in this study comes from interviews with sources from Lake Sipin who know about the Buka Rebo tradition.  Secondary data sources used in this research are theories or articles that are relevant to social valuesin the Buka Rebo tradition.The results of this study in the Buka Rebo tradition at Lake Sipin, Jambi City, are that there are three sub-social values, namely the value of compassion, the value of responsibility, and the value of harmony in life.  Affection consists of: a) devotion, (b) helping, (c) kinship, (d) loyalty, and (e) caring.  Responsibilities consist of;  (a) the value of belonging, (b) discipline, and (c) empathy, and finally the harmony of life which consists of (a) the value of justice, (b) tolerance, (c) cooperation, and (d) democracy.Keywords: Social Values, Buka Rebo Tradition

Abstract

This research is a qualitative research which aims to find out the form of the "Xylophone Becerito" tradition of Lebung Panjang Jambi Tulo Village and describe the educational values contained in the humming tuo of the xylophone Becerito tradition. Research data collection techniques, namely observation techniques, interview techniques and documentation techniques. Then the data obtained were analyzed using content analysis and tested through method triangulation. The results of the study show that the Gambang Becerito tradition contains moral educational values where the values of religious education include gratitude, fear of sinning, praying to God and being sincere.Keywords: Tradition Xylophone Becerito, Educational value, Jambi Tulo

Abstract

The basic competence of students to be able to describe the values and content of hikayat or folklore, which is one of the achievement targets for learning literature in high school cannot be grasped optimally without the support of appropriate learning media. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to develop learning media in the form of an application that can be used to explore and describe the values included in the Cik Upik folklore, which is a form of Malay oral literature. In doing so, research and development model of ADDIE (Analysis-Development-Design-Implementation-Evaluation) is carried out by involving subject matter experts in Indonesian language and folklores and media experts as validators for instrument and product development. In addition, an Indonesian teacher and 10 class X students at a high school participated as research subjects. In the needs analysis stage, a questionnaire was used to explore the needs of teachers and students, which were used as a consideration in designing and developing learning media. The results of the validation of material experts and media experts as well as the responses of teachers and students show that the learning media applications developed in this study were declared valid with very good qualifications. This implied that the learning media application developed in this research and development is very feasible to be used as a learning medium to describe the values included in folklore.
