Abstract

This research was conducted on October-December 2013, at Freshwater Culture Installation of Fisheries and Marine Department of  Riau Province and Bandar Kayangan Lake,  Lembah Sari village subdistrict Rumbai Pesisir Pekanbaru city Riau Province. The research aimed to analyze the water quality condition of Bandar Kayangan lake and determine the impact on  survival and growth of Catfish (Pangasius hypothalamus) fry. The method used is an experimental method by observing and measuring  sample directly on rearing cages measure 1x1x1 m. Catfish fries were stocked at the two weeks on age with the number ( 50 fries ) and  3 months time of rearing. Three units of cages were placed at each station that has been determined  and  Rumbai Freshwater Cultured Installation pond as control. The datas analyzed by descriptively and statistically, the descriptive analysis performed on physical and chemical parameters of water based on PP No. 82 year 2001 and was associated with the growth and survival of catfish fingerlings. Statistical analysis was using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and completely randomized design (CRD) with treatment of 3 times repetition. Growth and survival of catfish fingerlings on each station were quite well where the average growth of absolute weight between 35.43-36.20 grams, the average  growth rate of daily weight between 5.602-5.782%, the average of absolute growth in length between13,61-14.10 cm, the average of daily growth in length between 2.285 - 2.321% and the survival rate between 56-79%.

Abstract

This study was carried out around. The floating net cages in Koto Panjang HydropowerReservoir from May until June 2014, with the purpose of research is to analyze theinfluence of floating net cages on diatom community structure around the floating netcages, to analyze the condition of aquatic quality around the floating net cages, basedon parameters, physics, chemistry and examine the connection between aquatic qualityand diatom community structure around the floating net cages, based on parameters,physics, chemistry and examine the connection between aquatic quality and diatomcommunity structure around the floating net cages. The method which was used issurvey method. The analysis and identification was done in Ecology Laboratory andManagement of Aquatic Environment in Marine and Fisheries Faculty of RiauUniversity. The result showed that the variety and abundance of planktonic andperiphytic diatoms are 19 genus with the total of planktonic diatom abundance is 9667cell/L periphytic diatom is 8000 cell/cm2, from the index value of diversity types ofplanktonic diatom (H’) (2,0702 – 2,3446) dominance index value (C) (0,2370 – 0,3125)and uniformity index value (E) (0,7374 – 0,8352), whereas for periphytic diatom, theindex value of diversity types is (0,9950-2,2443), dominance index value is (0,2470-0,5035) and uniformity index value is (0,8682-0,9950). The result of water qualitymeasurement of nitrate is under the recommended threshol as according to GovernmentRegulation Number 82 of 2001 About the Management of Water Quality and Control ofWater Pollution. Based on analysis of variance (ANOVA), it is found that there is verysubstanstial connection among nitrate, phosphate, brightness, temperature and DO onthe diatom community structure. Therefore, there is influence of floating net cages ondiatom community structure and aquatic quality in the area around Koto Panjanghydropower reservoir.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted to in order know the effect of effective microorganisms(EM4) on the tofu waste water in the Chemical laboratory FMIPA Riau University Pekanbaruon 18 March - 08 April 2010. Samples were taken from outlet of tofu industry Sido RukunStreet Kecamatan Payung Sekaki. The treatment was using EM4 with concentration of 1:20(Treatment A), the second treatment was using concentration of EM4 1:10 (Treatment B) andC as control. The results of the experimental showed that Treatment A was more effectivethan Treatment B and Control in decreasing BOD and COD for 13 days experiment.

Abstract

Epibentik Dinoflagellates can be epiphytic (associated with seagrasses or macroalgae). This study used a survey method with Sargassum sp as a Dinoflagellata attachment. Research on the abundance of Dinoflagellata was conducted in Bungus Buy in November 2014. Based on samples collected, nine Dinoflagellates were found, where five of them were potentially toxic. They were Chatonella, Gonyaulax, Ceratium, Dinophysis, Prorocentrum, Gambierdiscus, Ceratium, Alexandrium, Pyrodinium and Scrippsiella with an abundance of 5231-12177 cell/g. The results showed no relationship between the concentration of nitrate and phosphate on the abundance Dinoflagellates. The nitrate concentrations ranging from 0.0175 to 0.0312 mg / l and phosphate concentrations ranging from 0.0181 to 0.0354 mg / l.

Abstract

This study was conducted in Singingi River in March 2008. To the objectiv of the study areidentify the macrozoobenthos community structure and its relationships with the physical andchemical properties of the river. Water and macrozoobenthos sample were taken in 3replications in 5 station namely inlower part of the river, Tanjung Pauh, Sungai Paku, Kotobaruand Petai. The samples were examined descriptively and analyzed in the labortary. Themacrozoobenthos samples were belong to 3 phylum, 4 classes, 8 families and 8 spesies. Theabundance of the organisms were 105 – 427 individu/M2, the diversity index (H’) were 0,93 –1,77, the domination index (C’) were 0,35 – 0,65 and the homogenity index were 0,52 – 0,84.The Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Sulphate, Ferrum,Total Suspended Solid (TSS) and Turbidity of the water were exceed the maximum levelsuggested by the Goverment Decree No. 82 / 2001, about The Management of Water Qualityand Pollution. The analysis revealed the positive correlation betwen macrozoobenthos withvarious physical and chemical characteristics of the water, the sediment and texture of thebottom material.

Abstract

Observation of water quality i.e. physics, chemistry and biology, nitrate and phosphate,abundance of plankton, social economy of society around oxbow lake to quality water ofoxbow lake. Was conducted in oxbow lake village of Buluh Cina to know water quality of thelake from February to April 2013.The water quality of physics and chemistry in the waters of oxbow lake of Buluh Cina villagewere found that: the depth range 239,5 to 442 cm, the temperature ranged from 29 to 30,4 0C,the brightness ranged from 68 to 95,5 cm, turbidity ranged from 5 to 6,2 NTU, pH rangedfrom 6,01 to 7.65, carbondioksida ranged from 6,75 sampai 7,25 mg/l, dissolved oxygenranged from 5,2 to 6.9 mg/l, nitrate ranged from 0.06 to 0.08 mg/l, phosphate ranged from0.01 to 0.05 mg/l. Obtained the species and abundance of plankton as many as 29 species in8 class with abundance ranged (12.180 to 15780 sel/ l), of the value of diversity index (H ')ranged (4,2773 to 4,6488), the value of the diversity index (E') ranged (from 0.8805 to0.9569), and the dominance index (C ') ranged (0.0467 to 0.0679). the spesies and abundacemakrozoobenthos as many as 7 spesies in 4 class, abundance ranged from 125 to 174 ind/m2.of the value of diversity index (H ') ranged (2,1694 to 2,6908), the value of the diversity index(E') ranged (from 0.8392 to 0.9585), and the dominance index (C ') ranged (0.1658 to0.2617). In general, waters quality condition of oxbow lake Village of Buluh Cina is still ingood condition and support for living organisms, Activities of society not yet influencesignifican to quality condition water.

Abstract

Research conductedin September 2011 to April 2012. The purpose is to asses thenumber of land-based activities that give rise to organic waste along SungaiLembu, in terms of BOD and dissolved oxygen content. The estimate of the organicpollution load capacity of each point of observation activities. The method used waspurposive sampling method with the consideration that the location of an area or apotential pollutant souces contributing to the pollution load of Sungai Lembu.Results showed that the organic substance content of BOD measurements at severallocations showed still under water quality standaed II class PP. 82 in 2001 and isbased on the calculation of organic pollution load capacity at each observationlocation is higher than the pollution load.

Abstract

Survay and analysis of water quality has been carried and in several rivers to know the effectof coal mines in the district of Singingi, Regency of Kuantan Singingi Riau Province on Aprilto November 2011. Water samples were collected from location of the mines effluent at Singingi River tributaries namely Sepuh river, Geringging river, Keruh river, Tapi river, flowin to Singingi river. The results of water quality compared with the Government Regulation no.82 year 2001 and refers to the Ministerial Decree. 115 year 2003 on water quality indexshown that Geringging river and Keruh river were heavily polluted, however Sepuh riverand Tapi river were moderate polluted.

Abstract

This study was conducted from March to May 2014. Locations research was conductedin Koto Garo district of Kampar. This study aims to identify management problems thatexist in the sub-watershed Tapung Kanan and analyze problems and problem resolutionsub-watershed management Tapung Kanan using Logical Framework Analysis (LFA)models. Based on the results obtained as follows: (1). Sub-watershed managementissues in Tapung Kanan based inventory data obtained from the implementation offocus group discussion between the sub-watershed communities around Tapung Kanan,NGOs, Provincial Government of Riau and Riau University Environment Rona namely:a). The potential threat of flooding and pollution of the environment in Sub-watershedTapung Kanan, b). The high land conversion practices were not in accordance withtheir distribution as well as the practice of forest destruction, c). The potential conflictsof management of natural resources is not optimal due to spatial synchronizationacross districts, d). The limited attention and public participation in environmentalconservation around the sub watershed Tapung Kanan, e). Not optimal performance forthe designated institutional sub-watershed management Tapung Kanan. (2). TapungKanan sub watershed management in an integrated manner using a model of LFA canmap problems and problem resolution. So that management can be realized gradually,then setting goals, objectives and strategies should be drawn up so that the next can bederived in the policies, programs, activities and location implemented. The resultingmanagement objectives in this study is "Realizing the Tapung Kanan sub watershed asone buffer region Ecosystem in Riau Province ".

Abstract

Implemetasi underdeveloped research for large-scale production of energy self-sufficient villages and confined in a laboratory scale. The presence of mangrove forests alongthe palm beach pesIsir Indonesia is a potential independent village granaries Energy (DME)to produce local non-fossil energy resources, namely bioethanol as an energy mix throughthe substitution of fossil fuels in order to add and save energy nationwide. Exploration ofgreen energy production process Tempatan with scale appropriate technology is essential toknow the characteristics and potential of bioethanol and fuel substitution products will beproduced. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of bioethanol frompalm sap processing to scale the application of appropriate technology and the potentialvalue of bioethanol FGE levels that would result in a 1 ha of mangrove forests nypa.Research using experimental and observational methodologies. Palm sap is used as thesubject of this study is the result of tapping mangrove palm bunches done processingfermentation, distillation and dehydration. Data collected includes data 1). Characteristic,among others: fermentation, Kadar Alcohol Distillation and Dehydration results TTG Tools,Redemen Bioethanol, Nipah Bioethanol Quality Testing Specifications for Substitute GradeFuel, Bioethanol Blending Testing FGE The substitution process to Fossil Fuels andCounting Bioethanol substitution needs to Biopremium octane FGE 92-95. And data 2). Thepotential value of Bioethanol and Biopremium Nipah. Furthermore, the data obtained andanalyzed, if there is a significant difference followed by Duncan test at 5% significance level.The results showed the characteristics of bioethanol from palm sap processing to scale the application of appropriate technology for fermentation derived average fermentation time isbetween 75.3 to 78 hours, or about 3 days, the average alcohol content of 81.3% obtained bydistillation and 93% as much as 2 times the process and result of dehydration reached 100%for the first time, redemen bioethanol by 8.1%, or a ratio of 12 Litre fermenting juice: 1 Literbioethanol FGE, quality testing specifications nypa fuel grade ethanol to substitute ethanolcontent nypa production equipment amounted to 99.56% TTG already qualified ISOstandards, testing FGE in the bioethanol blending into fossil fuel substitution showed ahomogeneous mixing and calculating FGE bioethanol substitution needs to biopremium 92octane produces a ratio of 1% use 95-octane bioethanol to produce ratio of 2% use ofbioethanol. Furthermore, the potential for the production of bioethanol from palm mangroveforest area of 1 ha with the highest value of 13179.43 liters / ha / year and the lowest value of2744.17 liters / ha / year. Biopremium production potential for the substitution of 10%obtained the highest value and the lowest value of 137,298.50 658,971,50 Liter.
