Abstract

This research was conducted because there was a decrease in the number of customers of the Tirta Giri Nata Drinking Water Regional Public Company in Cirebon City during the 2021-2023 period. This research uses a qualitative method by collecting data through interviews, observation and documentation. This research uses public service theory which focuses on the five main service quality dimensions related to customer service by public water companies: Tangibles, responsiveness, reliability, assurance and empathy. This study uses an interactive model data analysis procedure, which begins with data collection and continues with data reduction, data visualization, and conclusion drawing as the final step. The results showed that the service quality of PERUMDA Tirta Giri Nata Cirebon City still did not meet the five main success indicators, namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangible. The conclusion of this study is that the quality of customer service at PERUMDA Tirta Giri Nata Cirebon City, especially in terms of administrative and technical complaint services, has not yet reached an optimal level. There are still shortcomings in fulfilling the expected dimensions and indicators of service quality.

Abstract

Popular music is a strategic medium for cultural communication that conveys emotions and ideology, social values, and the construction of gender identity. Taylor Swift's song "Eldest Daughter" depicts the emotional experience of the eldest daughter, who is often burdened with moral and emotional responsibilities within the family. This phenomenon is known as Eldest Daughter Syndrome. The research focus is the meaning contained in the song lyrics and how the representation of the eldest daughter is formed in modern socio-cultural society. To investigate meaning at the denotative, connotative, and mythic levels, the research employs a qualitative approach using Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis method. Research data was obtained thru the analysis of song lyrics as the primary source; interviews with female listeners who are also the eldest child were conducted to support the literature analysis related to representation theory. The research findings indicate that the song "Eldest Daughter" portrays the eldest daughter as a figure imbued with the values of resilience, sacrifice, and emotional responsibility, which are naturalized by patriarchal cultural myths. This presentation highlights the internal conflict between societal expectations and women's personal needs. This research found that the song not only depicts a person's experience but also carries ideological meaning about the role of women in the family. This study also suggests further research on gender representation in popular music.

Abstract

This research explored the news production strategies employed by the local news media organization, iNews Cirebon.id, in addressing the dilemma between the demand for rapid news publication and the need to ensure credible news content through a rigorous news production process. This research aimed to analyze the news production strategies implemented by iNews Cirebon.id to improve content quality, particularly in responding to the challenges of rapid publication demands, limited resources, and the threat of disinformation in the digital era. The authors conducted an exploratory case study using a descriptive qualitative approach, employing in-depth interviews with participants, namely journalists from iNews Cirebon.id, regarding their news production process from the pre-production to the post-production stages. Based on the findings, this paper argues that several strategic approaches are employed to produce high-quality news content while addressing the challenges of covering breaking news in the digital era. These strategies include prioritizing news issues based on their local impact and verifying information through credible sources using a multilayered verification system, which serves as a crucial mechanism for ensuring factual reporting in time-constrained environments. Furthermore, this research contributes to enriching the field of local journalism studies by demonstrating how well-planned news production strategies, supported by a robust verification mechanism, can sustain news content quality amid the challenges posed by the widespread dissemination of disinformation in today's local media environment.
