Abstract

Permasalahan yang dikaji adalah sejauhmana pengaruh kepemimpinan dan motivasi terhadap kinerja karyawan secara parsial maupun simultan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendiskripsikan dan menganalisis pengaruh kepemimpinan dan motivasi terhadap kinerja karyawan baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik proporsional area random sampling diperoleh sampel 89 karyawan. Metode pengambilan data dengan menggunakan angket (kuesioner) yang dibagikan kepada karyawan yang dijadikan sampel penelitian. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis regresi berganda dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil penelitian dengan analisis regresi diperoleh persamaan Y = 43,873 + 0,195 X1 + 0,285 X2. Hasil pengujian secara simultan diperoleh Fhitung = 8,474 dengan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Koefisien determinasi (Adjusted R2) sebesar 0,145, dalam hal ini dapat diartikan bahwa kinerja mampu dijelaskan oleh kepemimpinan dan motivasi sebesar 14,5%, sedangkan sisanya 85,5% dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti dalam penelitian ini. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh yang positif, signifikan kepemimpinan dan motivasi terhadap kinerja karyawan baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Disarankan kepada pihak manajemen untuk selalu menciptakan suasana kerja yang lebih menyenangkan untuk meminimalisir terjadinya konflik antar karyawan maupun karyawan dengan pimpinan dan selalu menjaga hubungan yang baik dengan karyawan.

Abstract

Wireless distribution system (WDS) is a system to expand the wireless network and MAC address as destination addressess. Some documents have discussed WDS technology which one of it says that there is decline in throughput almost half a percent.In this paper, we examine how far the WDS impacts on packet loss and delay that occur when using different topologies in the network based Mikrotik. In the test, we first determined the topology and the location of the router and then we configured WDS route with registering the path between the router's MAC address. Secondly, we delivered streaming videos from server to the client and run the network monitoring software to record the network activity. Thirdly, we analyzed the delay, throughput, and packet loss as a result of the monitoring network.Based on the research examination, it is shown that there is no significant difference between the topology scheme 1 and the topology scheme 2. The performance of the router Master, router 1 and router 2 between topology 1 and topology 2, using the testing parameters: delay, throughput, and packet loss are the same. This is mainly because both of topologies have the same number of hops. On the other hand, there are significant difference in term of delay, throughput and packet loss for router 3 and router 4 both topologies. This is due to that the Master router to router 3 and the router 4 in the topology 2 has more hops than topology 1.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate how small-group discussion can be implemented to improve vocational high school students’ speaking ability and to identify the role of small group discussion in improving students’ speaking skill. This research was conducted by using action research, with 35 students of the second grade participating in this research. The findings of research can be explained in three cycles. Cycle 1 revealed that there were 37.2% of the students who did well; 42.8% were good although they had weaknesses in some aspects of using statements of introduction and choosing good sentences; 20% were weak and did not understand to choose appropriate sentences for introduction. Cycle II showed that 45.7% of the participants were good either in choosing appropriate sentences and pronunciation; 54.3% were considered good although they still lacked speaking communicatively with appropriate words. Cycle III was implemented after having additional classes, small guidelines of active speaking, and intensive practices. It found that 71.4% of the participants could communicate with English basic words and better structure, and 28.6% of them were still slightly below. Findings of this study showed that small group discussion could effectively improve students’ speaking skill, engage them in the group work discussion actively, encourage them to be independent learners who can expose themselves in learning activities, make them feel more relaxed at learning, give them more opportunities to improve their speaking skills.

Abstract

Although speaking is one the important skills, it is not easy to have this skill. English teachers have used various techniques to improve students’ speaking skill. So far, however, there has been little discussion about the role of multimedia-based presentation in improving students’ speaking skill. This action research taking place at a private university in Serang, Banten investigated the use of multimedia-based presentation to improve speaking skill. The findings showed that students’ speaking and presentation skills improved and their confidence to speak in front of the class increased. Students also learned technology which is beneficial for their study and future career. This study, therefore, suggests that teachers consider this aid in teaching-learning processes.

Abstract

The study attempted to design reading materials for Medical Science students at one of Vocational High Schools in Serang. To produce satisfactory teaching materials, the researchers conducted the following steps: doing needs analysis, reviewing the principles of materials design and reading in a foreign language, designing course framework, syllabus, the reading materials, and implementing the sample lessons. Researchers employed qualitative methods in gathering the data. The instruments used were questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire was addressed to students, alumni, teachers and institution. The interview was collected from the users. The needs analysis was carried out by distributing questionnaires. The result of needs analysis, became the basis for the researchers to design course framework. The course framework was then developed into a syllabus. Finally the syllabus became the basis for designing reading materials. Reading materials for Vocational High School applied a topical syllabus. Each lesson or unit discusses different topics, greeting and introduction. Introduction about nurse, health, dialogue between nurse and patient, eat healthy food, profile a nurse, tools, disease, nutrition, the healthy diet pyramid. Each lesson also adopted various reading skills or strategies. They were skimming, scanning, and guessing meaning from context. When the materials had been designed, the researchers implemented six out of ten lessons of the coursebook. The results were satisfactory. Most students mentioned that the coursebook was related to their field of study. The majority of the students said that the materials were understandable and interesting. They also said that they were satisfied with the reading materials

Abstract

Tujuan dilakaukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pentahapan pemeriksaan perkara pidana menurut KUHAP dan bagaimana pelaksanaan upaya paksa penahanan kepada tersangka menurut KUHAP serta bagaimana perlindungan hukum HAM dalam penyidikan yang dilakukan oleh penyidik polisi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode penelitian yuridis normative dan dapat disimpulkan: 1. Pentahapan proses penyelesaian perkara pidana berdasarkan Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1981 tentang KUHAP, yaitu tahap pertama : proses penyelesaian perkara pidana dimulai dengan suatu penyelidikan oleh penyelidik. Tahap kedua dalam proses penyelesaian perkara pidana adalah penangkapan. Tahap ketiga dari proses penyelesaian perkara pidana adalah penahanan.2. Pelaksanaan penahanan ini terbuka kemungkinan yang lebih luas untuk terjadinya penyalahgunaan kekuasaan baik karena kurangnya ketrampilan dan pemahaman aparat maupun karena kelalaian. 3. Polisi masih menggunakan kekerasan untuk mendapatkan pengakuan atau keterangan dari tersangka. Hak-hak tersangka diberikan setelah didapat pengakuan, hal ini bertentangan dengan amanat undang-undang, di mana hak-hak itu seharusnya diberikan pada awal penyidikan berlangsung. Negara telah gagal memberi perlindungan hukum kepada tersangka. Pengadilan juga gagal memberikan perlindungan, karena pencabutan pengakuan/keterangan dalam BAP yang diperoleh dengan jalan kekerasan.

Abstract

Abstrak:. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, menunjukkan bahwa dalam proses pembelajaran masih berorientasi pada guru (teacher centered) yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional dengan dominasi metode ceramah. Hal ini mengakibatkan kurang maksimalnya keterampilan menulis karangan narasi yang dimiliki oleh siswa. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan penggunaan media gambar seri, mendeskripsikan hasil belajar menulis karangan narasi siswa, serta mendeskripsikan kendala yang dihadapi saat berlangsungnya dan cara mengatasinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes dan catatan lapangan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah kelas III SDN Kebaron 1 Tulangan Sidoarjo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan menulis narasi siswa meningkat. Pada siklus I ketuntasan klasikal hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh sebesar 71,43% dan siklus II sebesar 82,14%. Selain itu, dari hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan pemenuhan pada setiap indikator keberhasilan. Kata Kunci : Menulis Narasi, Penggunaan Media Seri, Hasil Belajar Abstract: Based on the observation, indicated that in the learning process was still oriented by teacher (teacher centered) that dominated by speech method. This case was effect to decrease the student?s writing narration skill. The goals that will reach are to describe the implementation of write narration essay learning by applying series image media; describe student writing naration learning result; and describe problems that appeared during the learning takes place and its solutions.The research method that used in this research is CAR (Classroom Activity Research). Data collection technique used observation, student learning result test, and field note. Technical data analysis used descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The subject of research was fifth grade of Kebaron 1 Elementary School of Tulangan Sidoarjo. The result of the research showed that there was an increasing in the student?s writing narration skill with the classical completeness reach 71.43%, and in second cycle was 82,17%. In addition, the result also showed that fulfill the success indicator.

Abstract

Learning English language is much demanded and crucial for EFL students. Students are supposed to be able to prove their language skills through language proficiency test. TOEIC is one of the language proficiency tests that mostly EFL students especially vocational high school students need to learn and master it. However, the students often encounter some difficulties in conducting the TOEIC test. Improving students’ comprehension about practicing the TOEIC test highly requires a good strategy. TOEIC practice class is considered to be one of appropriate approaches to be applied to encourage the students’ comprehension. The purpose of the research is to investigate comprehensively whether there is any significant improvement of practicing TOEIC strategy on the students’ listening comprehension of the twelfth grade students. This research applied descriptive qualitative approach that engages one group participated by 30 students of twelfth grade of SMK Kesehatan Husada Pratama. It can be seen that there was such significant improvements of practicing TOEIC strategy on the students’ listening comprehension of the twelfth grade at SMK Kesehatan Husada Pratama academic year 2019/2020.

Abstract

The Plaosan Temple which was built during the eighth and tenth century AD is one of four temple complexes in the Prambanan area, Central Java-Indonesia. On going excavation in the temple complex discloses the occurrence of canals along the outer fences. The canals are eight meters wide and four meters deep. This article aims at reconstructing archaic river course and groundwater condition due to the construction of the canals. Aerial photo interpretation, excavation, ground water level measurement and valley morphology measurement reveal an anomaly of the nearest river in the temple complex. The river had seemingly been bypassed south-eastward to its tributary just before entering Plaosan Temple complex. Groundwater level dropped and its flow direction changed from nearly southward to south-eastward direction. These phenomena indicate that the canals were groundwater-discharged canals.

Abstract

This research study investigated the local wisdom and culture of Banten implemented in the digital reading materials design. The research objectives are creating the reading materials using Flip PDF Professional software that rely on the local wisdom of Banten. Research design used is research and development (R&D) in this study. The second semester undergraduate students of Faculty of Social and Political Science, Universitas Serang Raya are the subject of this research study. Research data is obtained through validation form, questionnaire, and test. To analyze the research data used the descriptive analysis with SPSS 21. The results of the investigation, the digital reading materials design based on local wisdom using Flip PDF Pro that was developed can positively engage the EFL students in the language learning, and the reading texts effectively give social and cultural values with 83,75% the average of content feasibility and 80% the average of reading materials presentation. Additionally, the value of Sig. (2- tailed) was 0,00 < α (α = 0,05) as it is proven that the students’ reading ability is getting better and the digital reading materials that is designed was feasible and can be utilized by the EFL students and teachers in their English Foreign Language classroom activities.
