Abstract

Standardization of 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu and Shitsuke) and waste elimination (Muda) are the 3 main pillars of gemba Kaizen in improvement with a common sense and low cost approach. Dirty and unkempt machines, dirty work environment are some of the problems faced by PT. XYZ. All of this causes a waste of both cost and time. Poor workplace management can also lead to waste. Discipline and morale of the workers are also one of the problems that exist in PT. XYZ. Lack of awareness and discipline of employees can be seen in the ongoing production activities. This study uses a case study method which is part of an interactive qualitative research method that applies the 5S concept in solving problems and uses a linear regression test which aims to determine the significant effect of the simultaneous and dominant 5S Kaizen concept on the work effectiveness of PT. XYZ. The results showed that the concept of Kaizen 5S simultaneously had a significant effect on work effectiveness. While the variables that have the most dominant influence on work effectiveness.

Abstract

Cukur Yuk Barbershop di Klari, Karawang, merupakan salah satu penyedia layanan cukur rambut yang berupaya untuk memahami dinamika ini Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menganalisis pengaruh kualitas layanan dan tarif terhadap tingkat kepuasan pelanggan. Populasi yang menjadi fokus adalah seluruh pelanggan yang menggunakan layanan di Cukur Yuk Barbershop selama periode tertentu, dengan sampel diambil secara purposive, yaitu memilih pelanggan yang telah menggunakan layanan setidaknya sekali dalam tiga bulan terakhir.kualitas layanan yang dimiliki oleh barbershop Cukur yuk dapat dilihat melalui analisis data yang diperoleh dan landasan teori yang relevan. Salah satu teori yang sering digunakan untuk mengukur kualitas layanan adalah model SERVQUAL, yang terdiri dari lima dimensi: Tangibles (bukti fisik), Reliability (keandalan), Responsiveness (daya tanggap), Assurance (jaminan), dan Empathy (empati) Cukur Yuk Barbershop telah berhasil membangun reputasi yang solid sebagai penyedia layanan potong rambut dan cukur yang berkualitas tinggi. Dikenal karena keterampilan tinggi para barber mereka, pelanggan dapat mempercayakan tampilan mereka kepada tenaga profesional yang ahli dalam menciptakan gaya rambut yang sesuai dengan keinginan.

Abstract

PT Kurnia Mustika Indah Lestari (KMIL) is a company engaged in stamping and dies maker that produces several parts for motorbikes and cars. One of the parts produced by the company is the part cap front. Where in the production process, the part cap front often produces defective parts every day. So this study aims to analyze the factors causing defects in the part cap front and to provide suggestions for quality improvements. This study uses the seven tools method used to analyze data. The data used in this study comes from the part cap front production data for the period January 2024. The findings of this study indicate that there are two types of defects in the part cap front, namely oblique welding and scratch. From the results of the pareto diagram, it is known that oblique welding defects are the most dominant defects with 66%. The control chart p used to analyze the control limits produced UCL 0,015 and LCL 0,011. Factors to determine the cause of defects in the fishbone diagram are human factors, machines, methods, materials, and the environment. The proposed improvements in this study are to provide training to operators to improve their skills, routinely carry out machine maintenance schedules, and always pay attention to the SOPs set by the company.

Abstract

Operations division employees in the telecommunications industry often face high mental workloads due to complex tasks, tight deadlines, and demands for accuracy and speed in their work. Excessive mental workload risks causing stress and reducing productivity. This research aims to evaluate the level of mental workload of PT Z operations division employees using the NASA-TLX method. NASA-TLX measures workload based on six main aspects: Mental Demand, Physical Demand, Temporal Demand, Performance, Effort, and Frustration Level. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires, then analyzed to obtain the average Workload Weighting Level (WWL). The results of the analysis show that the average WWL value is 74.61, which is categorized as high. The main factors contributing to high mental workload include task uncertainty, tight deadlines, long hours working in front of the computer, and intensive multitasking. As corrective steps, this research recommends adjusting workload, providing sufficient rest time, and improving the ergonomics of the work environment. It is hoped that these findings can help companies manage employee workload to improve their welfare and productivity.

Abstract

Biomekanika termasuk ke dalam salah satu disiplin ilmu ergonomi, yakni studi yang berhubungan dengan kekuatan fisik manusia, termasuk ketahanan fisik atau kekuatan tubuh pekerja di tempat kerja, dan penelitian tentang bagaimana pekerjaan dan peralatannya harus dirancang untuk kinerja fisik tubuh manusia dalam kegiatan tersebut. Rapid Entire Body Assessment merupakan metode yang dikembangkan didalam bidang ergonomi untuk penilaian cepat posisi kerja atau postur tubuh operator pada bagian leher, punggung, lengan, pergelangan tangan, serta kaki. Penelitian analisis posturpekerja ini dilakukan di Riza Bakery, metode yang dipakai adalah Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA). Pemakaian metode ini dianggap tepat untuk aktivitas pekerja yang cenderung menggunakan seluruh anggota tubuhnya saat melakukan pekerjaannya. Dapat diketahui bahwa posisi kerja ini jika dilakukan dalam waktu yang lama akan mengakibatkan cedera pada tubuh pekerja. Berdasarkan perhitungan yang telah dilakukan pada bagian pembuatan adonan, hasil perhitungan yang diperoleh skor akhir REBA sebesar 3 termasuk dalam kategori tingkat risiko rendah yang mana pada aktivitaskerja pembuatan adonan roti mungkin perlu dilakukan perbaikan, pada bagian penataan adonan ke loyang, hasil perhitungan yang diperoleh skor akhir REBA sebesar 11 termasuk dalam kategori tingkat risiko sangat tinggi yang mana pada aktivitas kerja penataan adonan ke loyang perlu dilakukan perbaikan segera. Pada bagian oven, hasil perhitungan yang diperoleh skor akhir REBA sebesar 5 tergolong dalam kategori tingkat risiko sedang yang pada aktivitas kerja oven roti perlu adanya perbaikan.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health are important factors at this time for employees so that they can do their work productively. This is done to reduce the impact of the risk of work accidents on employees and the company. The problem faced by the company is that there are work accidents that occur in mixer machines and production room areas that have an impact on employee safety and health. The HIRARC method is used in this study as a tool to identify work accidents that occur, assess how much impact is caused by work accidents, and provide control to handle so that work accidents do not occur. The purpose of this study is to reduce the occurrence of work accidents in the company to achieve zero accidents. The results of the PT ABC study showed that the activities carried out had a fairly high risk so that they could cause disorders in the human body to cause death and could be prevented by actions such as adding air ventilation and tightening the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

Abstract

Industri beton ready-mix di wilayah Indramayu menghadapi tantangan ketidakstabilan pasokan bahan baku utama, pasir dan split 2/3, yang berisiko menghambat kelancaran operasional. Ketidaksesuaian antara jadwal pemesanan dan kedatangan material sering memicu inefisiensi produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengendalian persediaan menggunakan metode Statistical Inventory Control guna menentukan level stok optimal. Metode ini mengintegrasikan perhitungan Safety Stock (SS) dan Reorder Point (ROP) dengan mempertimbangkan fluktuasi permintaan serta variabilitas lead time berdasarkan data historis Januari 2025 secara komprehensif guna meminimalkan risiko keterlambatan pengiriman material dari vendor. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa untuk memitigasi risiko stockout pada service level 95% (Z = 1,654), perusahaan memerlukan Safety Stock sebesar 44.507,48 kg untuk pasir dan 44.944,53 kg untuk split 2/3. Titik pemesanan ulang (Reorder Point) yang optimal ditetapkan saat persediaan menyentuh level 252.903,48 kg untuk pasir dan 217.292,53 kg untuk split 2/3 demi menjaga kestabilan ketersediaan stok. Penerapan parameter ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pengadaan, mereduksi idle time, serta menjamin kontinuitas produksi tanpa membebani biaya penyimpanan secara berlebih.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi, kenyamanan, dan keselamatan kerja pada proses produksi opak ketan di UMKM Opak Ketan Cibuaya yang berlokasi di Desa Pejaten, Kecamatan Cibuaya, Kabupaten Karawang. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra meliputi rendahnya efisiensi produksi, postur kerja yang tidak ergonomis, serta belum adanya standar operasional yang memadai, sehingga berdampak pada keluhan muskuloskeletal, ketidakkonsistenan ukuran produk, dan penurunan produktivitas. Metode pelaksanaan PkM menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif dengan melibatkan mitra secara aktif sejak tahap identifikasi masalah, perancangan solusi, implementasi, hingga evaluasi. Intervensi yang dilakukan meliputi perancangan dan penerapan meja kerja ergonomis, penyediaan alat bantu poka-yoke berupa cetakan opak untuk menyeragamkan ukuran produk, serta sosialisasi dan pendampingan terkait efisiensi dan keselamatan kerja. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kenyamanan kerja, penghematan waktu proses produksi, serta meningkatnya keseragaman ukuran opak yang dihasilkan. Selain itu, evaluasi pascapelaksanaan mengindikasikan peningkatan produktivitas, penurunan variasi produk, dan meningkatnya kesadaran pekerja terhadap pentingnya keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan PkM ini memberikan dampak positif bagi masyarakat sasaran dengan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan prinsip ergonomi dan poka-yoke yang sederhana, aplikatif, dan berbiaya rendah dapat menjadi solusi efektif dan berkelanjutan dalam meningkatkan kinerja produksi sekaligus kesejahteraan pekerja UMKM.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a manufacturing company in the paper industry with a continuous production system, making machine reliability a critical factor in maintaining smooth processes and high product quality. A vital system within the Cutter Strachain Henshain Machine (SHM) is the tension measurement system, which regulates paper web tension during the handling process. Field observations at PT XYZ revealed recurring disturbances caused by tension reading failure, which created significant discrepancies between Human Machine Interface (HMI) readouts and actual paper web conditions. While Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) is widely studied, its application to vintage, highly sensitive paper-tension control loops operating continuously for over two decades represents a distinct socio-technical operational gap. This study aims to analyze the maintenance strategy of the SHM tension measurement system using the RCM method to address this critical gap. Using a descriptive empirical approach incorporating structured observation, historical maintenance logging, and technical interviews, the system's operational functions, functional failure, and failure modes were systematically mapped. The analytical findings demonstrate that the primary point of failure stems from localized sensor contamination and localized degradation, severely compromising tension reading accuracy. Implementing an RCM-guided maintenance strategy, specifically through scheduled condition-directed maintenance and structured functional testing, is recommended. Quantitative projections indicate that these interventions can reduce total machine downtime by up to 15.4%, optimizing continuous production stability and mitigating cascading cutting defects.

Abstract

In the manufacturing industry, effective machine maintenance is essential to ensure production continuity and prevent downtime. PT KHAI faces performance degradation and damage to the automatic valve parts in its soy blending tanks, leading to significant production losses. This study analyzes the maintenance of these components using the Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) method. The novelty of this research lies in its specific application to piston-actuated butterfly valves within the liquid handling systems of the food processing industry, a specialized area that remains under-explored compared to heavy machinery or power plant sectors. The methodology involves system identification, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Logic Tree Analysis (LTA), and Task Selection. The results identify critical failure components, including actuators, bearings, seals, packing valves, solenoid valves, limit switches, and control systems. The proposed maintenance strategy consists of time-directed tasks for four components, condition-directed for one component, and finding failure for three components. In conclusion, this study provides a new framework for mitigating hidden failures in automated actuation systems, offering a replicable maintenance model for ensuring high-hygiene production efficiency in the food industry.
