Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena masih rendahnya kemampuan koneksi matematik siswa, dengan tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menelaah pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan koneksi siswa SMP melalui pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan metaphorical thinking berbantuan software Geogebra. Metode pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen dengan dua kelompok yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, desain penelitian berupa pretest, postest, dan uji gain ternormalisasi. Instrumen tes penelitian terdiri dari 5 soal tes kemampuan koneksi matematik berbentuk uraian. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMP di Kabupaten Bandung Barat, sedangkan sampelnya adalah SMP Krida Utama Padalarang. Sampel kelas VIII diambil secara acak kelas dari 12 kelas, diperoleh kelas VIII D sebagai kelas ekperimen, dan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas kontrol. Kelas Eksperimen memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan metaphorical thinking berbantuan software Geogebra, dan kelas kontrol memperoleh pembelajaran biasa. Data hasil penelitian diperoleh dari hasil pretes, postes , dan uji gain ternormalisasi, yang diolah melalui uji uji normalitas, dan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematik antasa siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan methaporical thinking berbantuan software Geogebra lebih baik dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran biasa.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah  untuk meneleaah perbandingan kemampuan pemahaman dan komunikasi matematis siswa antara yang pembelajarnya menggunakan pendekatan  konstekstual dengan pembelajaran biasa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini  adalah seluruh siswa SMP  yang berkemampuan sedang yang berada dikota Cimahi, sedangkan sampelnya dipilih dua kelas yang berjumlah 56 orang dari  satu SMP di kota Cimahi yang  berkemampuan sedang.  Instrumen  pada penelitian ini berupa tes berbentuk soal uraian untuk tes kemampuan pemahaman dan komunikasi  matematis. Instrumen yang digunakan sudah memenuhi soal yang baik berdasarkan validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda dan indeks kesukaran.  Berdasarkan perhitungan menggunakan SPSS 18 didapat hasil sebagai berikut (1) pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematik yang pembelajarnya menggunakan  pendekatan konstekstual lebih baik dibandingkan  pembelajaran  biasa. (2) pencapaian dan peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan pendekatan konstekstual lebih baik dibandingkan pembelajaran biasa Kata Kunci: Pemahaman, Komunikasi, Kontekstual

Abstract

Pada masa covid-19 pembelajaran dilaksanakan secara daring (online), sehingga dibutuhkan beberapa alat belajar berbantuan ICT yang mampu menunjang efektivitas pembelajaran dengan baik yaitu Geogebra. Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk menelaah  efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis masalah berbantuan Geogebra terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini  adalah metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMK Swasta di kota cimahi, sedangkan sampelnya dipilih tiga kelas yang banyaknya 80 dari satu SMK swasta di kota Cimahi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah seperangkat tes kemampuan penalaran yang berbentuk soal uraian sebanyak 4 soal. Soal tersebut sudah memenuhi soal yang baik berdasarkan validitas, reliabilitas, daya pembeda dan indeks kesukaran. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan menggunakan SPSS 18 diperoleh hasil bahwa model berbasis masalah dengan bantuan Geogebra dengan model berbasis masalah maupun biasa memiliki nilai sign. sebesar 0,000, karena nilai sign. < 0,05, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model berbasis masalah berbantuan Geogebra lebih efektif dibandingkan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah maupun model biasa ditinjau dari  kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Dengan demikian penerapan model berbasis masalah berbantuan Geogebra lebih efektif dibandingkan model berbasis masalah maupun konvensional  terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis.  Abstract During the Covid-19 period, learning was carried out online, so it needed several ICT-assisted learning tools that were able to support the effectiveness of learning well, namely Geogebra. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Geogebra-aided problem-based learning on abilities. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method. The population of this study was all private vocational students in the city of Cimahi, while the sample was selected in three classes with a total of 80 from one private vocational school in the city of Cimahi. The instrument used in this study was a set of reasoning ability tests in the form of 4-item description questions. These questions have fulfilled good questions based on validity, reliability, distinguishing features and difficulty index. Based on the results of calculations using SPSS 18 shows that the problem-based model base on Geogebra with problem-based and ordinary models has a sign value. of 0.000, because of the sign value. <0.05, it can be concluded that learning using a Geogebra-assisted problem-based model is more effective than problem-based learning models and ordinary models in terms of students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Therefore the results are obtained the application of a Geogebra-based problem-based model is more effective than a problem-based or conventional model in terms of mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of mathematics understanding of junior high school students, with the aim of the study is to examine the achievement, improvement, implementation, and difficulty of mathematics understanding ability of junior high school students through learning using Geogebra-assisted scientific approach. The method of this research is an experimental method with two class groups namely experimental class and control class. The population of this research is all junior high school in West Bandung Regency, randomly selected and selected SMP Krida Utama Padalarang. Samples were taken randomly class VIII chosen D as an experimental class, and class VIII C as control class. The experimental level received learning with the Geogebra-assisted scientific approach, and the control class gained regular learning. The results showed that the achievement and improvement of the ability of mathematical understanding between students who received learning with scientific approach assisted Geogebra software better with students who get regular learning. Learning with Geogebra-assisted scientific approach can be implemented in the experimental class by the steps of the scientific method of observing, asking, exploring, associating, and communicating.

Abstract

This research is a merged descriptive and quasi-experiment research aimed to describe students’ creativity in developing interactive learning media with Visual Basic Application for Excel. Besides that, it had done to review students’ ability which learning used open-ended Visual Basic Application for Excel compared with the other students’ which learning used the expository method with Visual Basic Application for Excel based. The subject contained 35 students in experiment class and 33 students in the control class, where the creativity of their learning media is reviewed and is analysed using SPSS. The research result shows that: (1) Students’ creativity in creating interactive learning media that the learning used open-ended Visual Basic Application for Excel based is better than the one with expository method of Visual Basic Application for Excel found; (2) Students creativity in creating interactive learning media is the combination of their mastery towards school level mathematics and the ability in applying Visual Basic Application for Excel.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan siswa dalam mengerjakan soal pemecahan masalah berbentuk cerita pada materi segitiga dan segiempat. Metode penelitian yang dipilih ialah desktiptif kualitatif, bertujan untuk mendeskripsikan secara jelas dan mendalam informasi yang diperoleh.  Subjek penelitian ini adalah 30 siswa kelas VIII MTs Negeri di kota Cimahi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis jawaban siswa diketahui bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan yang tergolong tinggi. Kesulitan terbesar yang dialami siswa berada pada tahap melakukan prosedur matematika. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada langkah menentukan strategi penyelsaian masalah yang kurang lengkap, keliru menentukan rencana penyelesaian masalah bahkan beberapa siswa tidak tepat dalam menentukan strategi penyelesaian masalah. Beberapa siswa kesulitan dalam menerjemahkan masalah ke dalam model matematika dan siswa kesulitan memahami masalah.

Abstract

Visual Basic Application for Excel is a simple program language and has the power to process data quickly. The utilization of math functions in Microsoft Excel can help work on Excel display more interactive so that teachers can create props inside Excel. The advantages of Microsoft Excel than other mathematical software are the many math functions and images available in the form of shapes or pictures. The availability of VBA, math and image functions in Microsoft Excel help teachers to design the creation of media related to mathematics learning, especially to develop the ability of junior high school students who have difficulty to connect mathematics lessons with basic mathematics knowledge requirements. By using VBA for Excel, the ability of junior high school students to improve in the usual way significantly with a t-test with 0.006 0.05.  Furthermore, there is an association between the students’ self-confidence and their mathematical comprehension skills with a contingency coefficient of 0.525 including a moderate association.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar matematika berbantuan media tubomatika terhadap kemampuan abstraksi matematis siswa kelas VII SMP. Kemampuan abstraksi matematis ialah kemampuan dasar yang harus dimiliki siswa SMP. Implementasi bahan ajar dengan menggunakan media tubomatika ini merupakan suatu cara untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami pembelajaran matematika terutama dalam materi segiempat dan segitiga. Agar bahan ajar berkualitas maka harus memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R and D) melalui penggunaan model pengembangan Plomp yang terdiri atas fase investigasi awal, fase pengembangan (pembuatan prototipe), dan fase penilaian (evaluasi). Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu validitas bahan ajar dinyatakan sangat valid dengan  hasil persentase 87% berdasarkan materi dan desain tubomatika bahan ajar, praktikalitas bahan ajar berdasarkan respon siswa dan guru sangat praktis dengan rata-rata persentase sebesar 82,20% dan efektivitas bahan ajar ini dapat dinyatakan efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan abstraksi siswa sebesar 71,27%. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berbantuan tubomatika sangat penting untuk diterapkan pada proses pembelajaran sehingga dapat berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan kemampuan abstraksi matematis siswa kelas VII SMP. The purpose of this research is developing mathematics teaching materials that present in based tubomatika media to increase the ability of mathematical abstraction of students in grade VII junior high school. Mathematical abstraction ability is a basic ability that students must have.  The application of teaching materials using tubomatika media is one way to assist students in understanding mathematics learning, especially on rectangle and triangular material. The teaching materials that provided for students must have three criterias are valid, practical, and effective. The type of this research is the Research and Development (R and D) and using the Plomp development model. This research consist of investigation phase, development or prototype phase, and assessment phase. The result of this development research are  the validity of the teaching materials are valid with a percentage 87% on the theory aspect and the material design media tubomatika, practicality  of teaching materials based on the response of teachers and students are practice with percentage 82,20%, and the effectivity of teaching materials are effective based on communication skills of students with a percentage of 71,27%. So, it can be concluded that the tubomatika  based teaching material is very important to be applied in the learning process so that it can affect the improvement of mathematical abstraction abilities of grade VII students of junior high school.

Abstract

The Research and Development (R & D) method was used in this study to develop interactive mathematics learning media using the Android-based MIT App Invemtor application on the Pythagorean subject which consisted of: (1) needs analysis, (2) initial media development, (3) media validation and media revision, (4) media testing and media revision, (5) final product. Data collection is used through a questionnaire/questionnaire. Validation was carried out by a team of material experts, a team of media experts, and students to determine the feasibility of the media. The results of the assessment given to material experts and media experts use the Guttman scale. While the results of the media assessment to students using a Likert scale with a value range of 1-5. Respondents were students from class IX at SMP Putra Juang, Cianjur, totaling 8 students. The data analysis technique in this research is using descriptive qualitative. The average value of 90.27% was obtained from two media experts in the appropriate category. The average value of 87.5% was obtained from two material experts in the appropriate category. The average value of 93.02% was obtained from the results of field trials with a very feasible category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the problem solving skills of junior high school students based on student gender. This research is descriptive qualitative. Data from the research results obtained from the results of writing written questions and the results of oral interviews of 14 students of class VIII from Waringin Middle School, Bandung. The instrument used is 3 numbers of material questions that are in accordance with indicators of cognitive aspects. The results of this study indicate that from the problem description given and from the results of interviews about problem solving abilities of junior high school students with female gender on average, it is better than the problem solving ability on average junior high school students have a way to solve while solving problems. So that researchers can conduct research using active student learning methods to get better results, and also be able to understand other factors related to problem solving problems of junior high school students, both male and female students.
