Abstract

This article is an analysis of the results of problem solving questions of class X students of Bina Insan Bangsa Vocational School. The analysis was conducted to find out the problems experienced by students and to determine the level of problem-solving difficulties of students of the National Vocational High School. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The samples taken for this study were 20 class X students of Bina Insan Bangsa Vocational School. The mathematical problem solving test instruments provided were 3 items. The results of the analysis obtained based on the written test carried out is that the mathematical problem solving of students at the National Human Resources Vocational School is relatively low.

Abstract

Students' negative suggestions for mathematics make mathematics not so much liked and desired by students. Critical thinking ability is very important to have, because it can help us in thinking rationally in overcoming the problems we face. This study aims to analyze the independence of learning and critical thinking mathematically students at Al-Mukhtariyah Mande Mts. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Researchers act as observers, provide test questions and provide questionnaires to students. The instruments used are a description test and a learning independence scale. The study was conducted on class VIII students, namely in class VIII-B and VIII-D at the Al-Mukhtariyah Mande Mts. In class VIII-B, there were 25 students, 13 students were male and 12 were female students. In class VIII-D, there were 33 students, 15 students were male and 18 were female students. Researchers use indicators of critical thinking: interpretation, analysis, evaluation, drawing conclusions, explanations, independence. Based on the results of the description test, it was concluded that (1) students 'overall mathematical critical thinking ability was in the low category, (2) students' responses in solving critical thinking problems were still very low, (3) overall student learning independence was at a moderate level and students are not accustomed to using indicators of independence of learning correctly. (4) there is a close relationship between learning independence and students' critical thinking skills

Abstract

This research was conducted at SMPN 02 Kersamanah VIII. This research is a Posstest-only Control Design in which the researcher only compares the results of the posttest of the experimental class and the control class. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the ability of students 'mathematical self-concept between classes where learning uses the RME approach and classes that use conventional approaches and strengthen students' self-concepts in the millennial era. This study used 25 experimental and control class students as samples with a duration of research consisting of 8 meetings. Based on the analysis of post-test data and N-Gain shows that there are significant differences in the ability to think logically mathematically where the mathematical self-concept of students whose learning using the RME approach is better than the classroom learning using conventional approaches. This is because the use of the RME approach provides meaningful learning by seeing, searching, and exploring real objects. Where students have more responsibility for learning mathematics, reducing online gaming activities, and the use of gadgets.

Abstract

The low creative thinking of junior high school students and the lack of use of ICT-based learning media are problems in this study. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of scientific learning with the help of VBA Excel in students' creative thinking. The experimental method is the method used in this study with a Non Equivalent Control Group Design, the samples were taken from two classes in one junior high school in the city of Cimahi. The instrument used is in the form of a creative thinking ability test, which consists of 5 questions. The results in this study conclude that scientific learning with the help of VBA Excel is more effective than ordinary learning in terms of creative thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate how students of class XI TKR 2 SMK Nurul Hidayah Pasundan develop their mathematical problem-solving skills using a problem-based learning technique on the topic of matrix determinants. This research is a classroom action research. The 2021–2022 school year's odd-numbered semester was employed for this study. There were 15 students of class XI TKR 2 who were used as research subjects. The following are the steps in this research: (1) Planning, (2) Action Implementation, (3) Observation and Evaluation, (4) Reflection. A learning outcome assessment used in this study measures students' ability to solve problems in relation to the determinants of the matrix., that is: (1) initial test, (2) first cycle test and second cycle test, (3) final test, and ( 4) observation sheets for researchers and students. The learning scenario had to be met by more than 80% of the activities performed in this study, and more than 80% of the individual students had to receive a score of at least 75. According to the study's findings, students in class XI TKR 2 at SMK Nurul Hidayah Pasundan can increase their capacity to solve mathematical problems by employing a problem-based learning approach when studying matrix determinants.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the effectiveness of applying Geogebra-assisted REACT strategy to improve students' critical thinking. The experimental method is the method chosen in this study. The population of this study were all students of the Mathematics Education Study Program, IKIP Siliwangi Bandung, while the sample was students of the Class of 2020 of the Mathematics Education Study Program of 2 classes. In this study, an instrument in the form of a description of 4 items was used to measure critical thinking. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with the help of SPSS version 21. Based on the results of data processing, it was concluded that the application of the REACT strategy assisted by GeoGebra was more effective in improving critical thinking skills than conventional learning.Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk menelaah keefektifan penerapan strategi REACT berbantuan Geogebra untuk  meningkatkan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Metode eksperimen merupakan metode yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Matematika IKIP Siliwangi Bandung, sedangkan sampelnya adalah mahsiswa Angkatan 2020 Prodi Pendidikan Matematika sebanyak 2 kelas . Dalam penelitian ini digunakan instrumen berupa  soal uraian sebanyak 4 butir soal yang digunakan dalam mengukur berpikir kritis. Analisis data yang digunakan dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif  dan statistik inferensial dengan bantuan SPSS versi  21. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data didapat kesimpulan bahwa penerapan strategi REACT berbantuan Geogebra lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the mathematical thinking skills of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems by using the Problem Based Learning approach on fractional materials. This study is a class action study conducted in class VII B Junior High School Pasundan Sidamulih. This study is a class action study. The subjects in the study were 22 students, 12 male students, and 10 female students. This study was conducted as many as 2 cycles, accompanied by the provision of pretes and postes.  The data collection technique carried out in this study uses test instruments in the form of pretes and postes, non-test instruments in the form of observation sheets of student and teacher activities. Based on the analysis obtained the average pretest score of 11.95 and the average postes score of 18.45. The data showed an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills by 21.74%.

Abstract

This study is the background for errors in solving relationship and function problems. The study with the subject of class VIII students of State Junior High School 3 Cililin aims to describe the level of error carried out by students in solving relationship and function problems, the research methodology used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, and the data produced in this study comes from the test results given to students with indicators of questions 1) Determining Relationships which are functions,  2) Applying the concepts of relationships and functions, 3) Determining the value of functions, 4) Finding the concept of function relations, 5) Defining relationships and functions. From these results, it was found that the average student error was at a moderate criterion of 65%.

Abstract

This research has a purpose or intent to analyze the mathematical problem solving abilities of SMK students in the matrix subject by using indicators consisting of 4 main components, including: (1) understanding the problem; (2) planning problems; (3) solve the problem of the appropriate plan; also (4) reviewing or re-checking the steps taken. And the data analysis method used in this research is using qualitative and descriptive methods. The subjects in this study were 10 students of SMK Mitradharma Cililin class X. The instrument of this research was 4 questions about the matrix. The results found in this study is that it can be seen that the level of students' mathematical problem solving abilities is low. Therefore, further research is needed on student problem solving to produce additional data that can be used as assessment and analysis material to create learning models that can improve learning outcomes, especially those related to students' mathematical problem solving abilities.
