Abstract

This service activity aims to improve teacher writing skills and the ability to search for reliable information as a source of reference and create digital libraries for writing scientific articles. The method of implementing this service used training. This service partner was the teachers at SMPN 16 Padang. The instruments for evaluating this service activity were the articles written by the teachers, which were analyzed descriptively. The results of this service showed that teachers could produce relevant scientific articles that could be used for teacher promotion. Approximately 80% of teachers could master how to turn class action research reports into scientific articles. In addition, this activity could improve 100% of teachers' understanding of the procedures for writing and publishing scientific articles in accredited journals. This success was seen from the articles made by the teachers according to the template from the specified journal.

Abstract

The reduction of education to a technocratic process that is only oriented towards cognitive achievement has ignored basic human values. This research aims to analyze the essence of education as a humanization process by integrating philosophical and scientific perspectives, as well as identifying the main dimensions in the development of the whole human being. The method used was a systematic literature review of 28 articles from Scopus, Web of Science, and the Garuda Portal for the 2014–2024 period with the keywords "humanization in education", "philosophy of education", and "holistic development". The thematic analysis yielded three main findings. First, the humanization of education includes five dimensions of development: cognitive, affective, moral, social, and spiritual, that must be integrated into learning practices. Second, the philosophy of education serves as a normative foundation and a tool of criticism that directs educational goals. Third, education provides an empirical framework through theoretical, practical, and normative orientations. These findings confirm that meaningful education requires a dialogue between philosophical reflection and scientific validation in its implementation. This research contributes to educational theory by providing an integrated conceptual framework that bridges the gap between philosophical ideals and empirical practice, offering practical guidance for educators and policymakers to develop more humanistic and holistic educational systems that address the ethical and social challenges of contemporary society.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan korelasi keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan keterampilan menulis teks LHO kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti. Latar belakang masalahnya adalah rendahnya nilai rata-rata menulis teks LHO siswa yang belum memenuhi KKM, dan diduga kuat berkaitan dengan keterampilan pemahaman membaca. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian yaitu kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Populasi terdiri dari semua siswa kelas X di SMA Negri 1 Lembah Gumanti berjumlah 322 siswa, dan sampel 48 siswa dipilih dengan teknik simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes pilihan ganda untuk menakar keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan  tes  unjuk kerja untuk  menakar  keterampilan menulis. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, dapat disimpulkan hasil penelitian, keterampilan membaca pemahaman berada pada kualifikasi baik sekali, keterampilan menulis teks LHO berada pada kualifikasi baik, memiliki hubungan yang signifikan antara keterampilan membaca pemahaman dengan  keterampilan  menulis  teks LHO siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Lembah Gumanti dengan derajat kebebasan n-1  dan taraf signifikan 95%. Ho ditolak dan H₁ diterima karena thitung lebih besar daripada ttabel yaitu 9,44>1,68.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of literature learning through the implementation of Deep Learning and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) models integrated with digital platforms among vocational high school students in the Aileu District, Timor-Leste. The development of educational technology opens opportunities for literature learning that no longer focuses on memorization but rather on deep understanding. The deep learning approach is used to encourage analysis, reflection, and critical interpretation of literary texts, while PBL presents authentic problem-based learning through collaboration and active discussion. This study employs a quasi-experimental method with two groups, namely an experimental class that applies Deep Learning–PBL assisted by digital platforms and a control class using conventional methods. The research instruments include a literary comprehension test, student participation observation sheets, and a questionnaire on perceptions of technology utilization. The results show a significant improvement in literary analysis skills, learning engagement, and interpretive creativity of students in the experimental class compared to the control class (p < 0.05), with moderate to high effect sizes. The use of digital platforms also strengthens the learning experience through multimedia, online collaboration, and rapid feedback. This study concludes that the integration of deep learning, PBL, and digital technology is effective in transforming literature learning into a more profound, interactive, and relevant practice for 21st-century education
