Abstract

Andragogy is a set of ideas about how to help adults learn that have yet to get much attention in sports teaching, especially in schools that prepare people to become coaches. This qualitative exploratory study looked at a university program in Padang, Indonesia, that was meant to prepare students to work with adult athletes. The study looked at how the ideas from Knowles' Andragogy in Practice Model were used in that school. We talked to and asked 14 pre-service coaching students and nine adult players about their learning experiences, interests, and environmental factors. The results aligned with andragogy ideas like giving students choice, problem-based learning, and teaching based on values. Cultural values valuing group work and obedience to authority clashed with basic pedagogical principles. Economic limits also affected how ready people were to learn on their own. The general company mindset continued to be similar to how young people are coached. A combined method that adapts andragogy to the local social, cultural, and sports norms is offered to improve coaching education and adult learning in this setting. The results shed light on an area that has not been studied much and applied to andragogical theory. They also show how to use teach-ing methods appropriate for different cultures.

This research is included in the literature review category and uses descriptive-interpretative methods. The author conducted a literature study to collect sources, then utilized relevant sources for the interpretation process, followed by presenting the results of the interpretation in well-structured sentences. The findings of this research describe Mohammad Sjafei as a national education figure who opened a non-formal school as an alternative school during the Dutch colonial era. He formulated his own educational curriculum which contains active-creative educational concepts. This active-creative education system provides the nation's children with the opportunity to explore their potential and develop their interests and talents to support their future careers. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between parental attention and the prosocial behavior of children aged 3–4 years in Kampung Lubuk Gambir, Kenagarian Kapelgam. The background of this research is based on the phenomenon that some children still show a lack of prosocial behaviors such as sharing, helping, and cooperating, which are suspected to be related to the level of parental attention in daily life. This research is a quantitative study using a descriptive-correlational design. The population consisted of 30 children and their parents, with a sample of 23 respondents selected through random sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire measuring two variables: parental attention (X) and children’s prosocial behavior (Y). The data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that parental attention was in the high category, with most respondents choosing “often” (40.87%) and “always” (25.43%). Meanwhile, children’s prosocial behavior was in the moderate category, with most respondents choosing “sometimes observed” (48.12%) and “often observed” (36.81%). The inferential analysis obtained an r-value of 0.623 with t-count = 3.65 > t-table = 2.080 at a 5% significance level. This indicates a positive and significant relationship between parental attention and the prosocial behavior of children aged 3–4 years. In conclusion, the higher the parental attention given, the higher the level of prosocial behavior shown by the children. These findings support Bandura’s Social Learning Theory and Bowlby’s Attachment Theory, which emphasize that parental attention and emotional involvement play a crucial role in shaping children’s empathy and social concern from an early age.
