Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Interventions were carried out by the government. However, other interventions are needed with the Covid-19 vaccination. It’s expected that the chain of transmission can be broken. The risk of transmission of Covid-19 increases in certain sub-populations, including college students. College students are more educated and have a quick response to health problems. Thus it’s hoped that the knowledge and attitudes of students will be at a good level toward the acceptance of the Covid-19 vaccination. Methods: This research was an analytic observational study using a cross-sectional design which was conducted in September on 200 Jambi University students from seven faculties. Distribution of questionnaires via Google form. The data obtained were analyzed by Chi-square test. Results: From 200 respondents, most of the respondents had a low level of knowledge (51.5%) and a poor level of attitude (55%). The respondent's acceptance rate of the Covid-19 vaccination was 99.5%. Conclusion: Statistically, there’s no significant relationship between acceptance of Covid-19 vaccination and the level of knowledge of Jambi University students. In addition, there is no significant relationship between acceptance of Covid-19 vaccination program and the attitude level of Jambi University students. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitude, Acceptance, Covid-19 vaccination   ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Berbagai intervensi dilakukan pemerintah untuk menanggulangi Covid-19. Namun, diperlukan upaya intervensi lain dengan program vaksinasi Covid-19. Diharapkan rantai penularan dapat diputus, angka kesakitan dan kematian menurun, serta terbentuk herd immunity. Risiko penularan Covid-19 meningkat pada sub populasi tertentu, termasuk mahasiswa dengan kegiatan pembelajaran yang melibatkan banyak orang. Dibandingkan dengan sub populasi lainnya, mahasiswa lebih teredukasi, terbuka, dan memiliki respon sehingga diharapkan pengetahuan dan sikap mahasiswa pada tingkat yang baik terhadap penerimaan vaksinasi Covid-19. Metode: Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan cross sectional yang dilakukan bulan September pada 200 mahasiswa Universitas Jambi dari tujuh fakultas. Kuesioner disebarkan secara daring pada responden. Data dianalisis dengan Uji Chi square. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah metode multistage sampling. Hasil: Dari 200 responden, diketahui tingkat pengetahuan sebagian besar responden rendah (51,5%) dan tingkat sikap kurang baik (55%). Tingkat penerimaan vaksinasi Covid-19 responden sebesar 99,5%. Kesimpulan: Secara statistik tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara penerimaan vaksinasi Covid-19 dengan tingkat pengetahuan mahasiswa Universitas Jambi. Selain itu, tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna antara penerimaan vaksinasi Covid-19 dengan tingkat sikap mahasiswa Universitas Jambi. Kata kunci: Pengetahuan, Sikap, Penerimaan, Vaksinasi Covid-19

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Refill drinking water are in great demand by the public. The selection is not careful, resulting in consumers can consume drinking water contaminated with bacteria. Drinking water contaminated with bacteria can cause waterborne disease. The purpose of this study was to identify the presence of the genus Klebsiella and Citrobacter bacteria at Refill Drinking Water Depots and to determine the distribution of the number of Refill Drinking Water Depots in Jambi City which were contaminated with Klebsiella and Citrobacter bacteria. Methods: This type of research is a descriptive research with a laboratory approach and cross-sectional research design. The samples was taken from refill drinking water depot in Jambi City which was identified by MPN Test, Gram Staining and Biochemical Test. Result: Of the 83 total samples examined, it was found that 4 samples were contaminated with the Klebsiella genus of bacteria (4.8%) and 17 samples (20.5%) were contaminated with the Citrobacter bacterial genus.. Pemilihan yang tidak cermat, mengakibatkan konsumen dapat mengkonsumsi Air Minum yang terkontaminasi bakteri. Air minum yang terkontaminasi bakteri dapat mengakibatkan waterborne disease. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan Genus Bakteri Klebsiella dan Citrobacter pada Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang dan untuk mengetahui distribusi jumlah Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang di Kota Jambi yang terkontaminasi bakteri Klebsiella dan Citrobacter. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan laboratorium dan desain penelitian cross-sectional. Sampel diambil dari Depot Air Minum isi ulang di Kota Jambi yang diidentifikasi dengan Uji MPN, Pewarnaan Gram dan Uji Biokimia. Hasil: Dari 83 total sampel yang diperiksa, ditemukan jumlah sampel yang terkontaminasi Genus Bakteri Klebsiella sebanyak 4 sampel (4,8%) serta 17 Sampel (20,5%) terkontaminasi Genus Bakteri Citrobacter. Kesimpulan: Terdapat bakteri Klebsiella pada 4 sampel (4,8%) dan Citrobacter 17 sampel (20,5%) pada Depot Air Minum Isi Ulang di Kota Jambi. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Inflamatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in animal model could be induced by chemical agents such as dextran sulfate sodium (DSS),  trinitrobenzene sulfanic acid and oxazolone. The inflammation induced by DSS gave many clinical symptoms and immnulogic reactions like in human. In the recent study, the disease activity index has been assessed on the BALB/c mice that induced by DSS 2% and 3%, the result was no significant result. Therefore, DAI score was not necessarily describe the intestinal tissue real condition, so the researcher want to continue assessing DSS influence to the microscopic features of BALB/c mice intestine and colon. Methods: Nine male BALB/c mice 6-8 weeks, weight 25-40 g divided in 3 groups. Group I as control, while group II and III induced by  2 cycles of 2% DSS for 5 days followed by drinking water for 10 days and 3 cycles of 3% DSS for 7 days followed by drinking water for 7 days. Assesment of DSS effectiveness by microscopic examination of intestine and colon to observe inflammatory features. Results: . The microscopic features of group II and group III mice intestine and colon has no inflammatory features as control group. Oral admission DSS 2% and DSS 3% did not establish microscopic changes in BALB/c mice intestine and colon, so it was not effective as mice IBD inducer.

Abstract

ABSTRACT In the current era of digitalization, healthpreneur products at affordable prices and good quality in the community have competitive value. Innovation in the health sector, especially to improve healthcare services, goes hand in hand with technological advances. The existence of competitive healthpreneurs motivates healthcare services to be universal and easier to access by the wider community. This community service activity aims to increase the potential of creative doctorpreneurs in the digital-based competitive healthpreneur era through education and innovative healthpreneurship design platforms. The activity was a webinar inviting resource persons in the digital-based doctorpreneur field and founders of several healthpreneurship platforms. Pretest, posttest and evaluation questionnaires were given to webinar participants. After the expert presentation, participants were allowed to discuss. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test to determine the increase in knowledge participants. The number of webinar participants who participated was 290 students from 4 classes, namely 66 students from the Class of 2020, 99 students from the Class of 2021, 66 students from the Class of 2022 and 59 students from the Class of 2023. There was a significant difference in the pretest and posttest scores of the webinar participants. (P-value=0.008). The activity evaluation results through the webinar satisfaction questionnaire showed that most participants stated that the seminar activities were very good and good. This webinar activity is proven to increase knowledge about the potential of creative doctorpreneurs in the digital-based competitive healthpreneur era. Dengan adanya competitive healthpreneur memotivasi healthcare service bersifat universal dan lebih mudah untuk diakses oleh masyarakat luas. Kegiatan dilangsungkan secara webinar dengan mengundang narasumber di bidang doctorpreneur berbasis digital dan founder beberapa platform healthpreneurship. Pretest dan posttest serta kuesioner evaluasi kegiatan diberikan kepada peserta webinar. Setelah dilakukan pemaparan oleh narasumber, diberikan kesempatan untuk diskusi kepada peserta. Analisa data digunakan uji Wilcoxon untuk mengetahui peningkatan pengetahuan. Jumlah peserta webinar yang berpartisipasi sebanyak 290 mahasiswa yang berasal dari 4 angkatan, yaitu 66 orang Angkatan 2020, 99 orang Angkatan 2021, 66 orang Angkatan 2022 dan 59 orang Angkatan 2023.. Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan nilai pre-test dan post-test peserta webinar (P-value=0,008). Hasil evaluasi kegiatan melalui kuesioner kepuasan webinar menunjukkan mayoritas peserta menyatakan kegiatan seminar sangat baik dan baik. Kegiatan webinar ini terbukti dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang potensi diri creative doctorpreneur di era competitive healthpreneur berbasis digital. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Bone markings must be studied and mastered in learning skeletal system anatomy. The short and interesting material in the pocketbook helps students identify preparations during the practicum, increasing their understanding and gaining practical grades. Objective: This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Skeletal System pocketbook on grades practical anatomy block of the Integumentary System and Locomotion for medical students in the first semester of the Universitas Jambi in 2023. Method: This research used a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test control group. The 106 sample students were from the Medical Study Program at Universitas Jambi class of 2023. Result: The mean pre-test and post-test grades for students with pocketbooks were 61.86 and 78.04, while those without pocketbooks were 63.74 and 71.35. In the mean pre-test grade, there was no significant difference between the experimental and control groups' mean grades (p-value = 0.488). Meanwhile, in the mean post-test grades, there was a significant difference between the two groups (p-Value = 0.005), where the experimental group had a higher mean grade. Conclusion: There is a significant difference in using the skeletal system anatomy pocketbook on the grade of anatomy practicum for medical students at Universitas Jambi. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Karamunting leaves (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa) are a medicinal plant widely used in Indonesia for their bioactive compounds, which exhibit anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, antidyslipidemic, and anti-hyperglycemic properties. However, the safe dosage for human use remains undetermined. This study aims to assess the sub-acute toxicity of ethanol extracts of karamunting leaves on the hematological profile of female white rats. Methods: This study used an experimental laboratory design with a post-test control group. Karamunting leaves were extracted by maceration using 70% ethanol as the solvent. The hematological profiles measured included erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets, and hematocrit levels. Female white rats of the Wistar were randomly divided into six groups. The negative control group received only a 0.5% Na CMC suspension, while the treatment groups received ethanol extracts of karamunting leaves at doses of 200 mg/kg BW, 400 mg/kg BW, 800 mg/kg BW, 1600 mg/kg BW, and 3200 mg/kg BW. Blood samples were collected after 14 days of treatment. Results: The hematological profiles indicated no significant differences among the groups. However, the treatment group that received extracts at a dose of 1600 mg/kg BW showed a poor hematological profile. Conclusion: Generally, the ethanol extract of karamunting leaves did not affect the hematological profiles of the test animals. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: The government's stunting prevention measures begin with improving nutrition, namely during adolescence, in the case of prospective brides, pregnant women, postpartum mothers, and toddlers. Empowerment for women in the community or at home is expected to reduce stunting problems and various child health problems. This study aims to screen for risk factors and prevent stunting in women of childbearing age. Methods: Thirty-six women of childbearing age attended this research activity in the Olak Kemang Health Center working area. The activities included pre-marital nutrition education for women of childbearing age, examination of weight, height, arm circumference, and measurement of blood haemoglobin. Results: The body mass index of Women of Childbearing Age was the most in the thin category, namely 39% (BMI <18.5), haemoglobin levels >12 as much as 58,33%, upper arm circumference above 22 as much as 78% and there was an increase in knowledge assessed from the results of the pretest and posttest, it is known that the average pretest value is 60, and the posttest value is 80. Conclusion: Management of iron tablet administration is needed for women of childbearing age who experience anaemia and increased nutritional intake in women of childbearing age. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Overweight and obesity are linked to liver disease and dysfunction, as obesity can adversely affect liver function through various mechanisms. The study aims to determine the effect of intermittent fasting type 5:2 and physical activity on SGOT, SGPT, body weight, and BMI levels. Methods: The research design used a pre-post-test group research design. The subjects of the study were overweight and obese individuals at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Jambi. Results: The study concluded that intermittent fasting and physical activity did not significantly affect SGOT and SGPT levels, with minimal changes (SGOT: 29.40 to 27.85, p=0.699; SGPT: 30.85 to 29.35, p=0.735). However, there were significant reductions in body weight (from 80.02 kg to 77.35 kg, p<0.001) and Body Mass Index (BMI) (from 29.69 to 28.68, p<0.001). Conclusion: Intermittent fasting and physical activity impacted body weight and BMI but did not affect SGOT and SGPT levels. Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: In Indonesia, inadequate hygiene practices often threaten food safety. This research aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of food traders towards their hygiene behavior. Methods: This research is an observational quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach conducted in June 2024 at Car Free Day Telanaipura, Jambi City. The research sampling technique used a total sampling method on 100 food traders. Data was collected through a questionnaire that assessed demographic profiles, knowledge, attitudes, and personal hygiene behavior and analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: The results show that 60% of respondents have good knowledge, while 42% have a good attitude regarding personal hygiene. Statistical tests show a significant relationship between knowledge of personal hygiene behavior (p=0.047) and a significant relationship between attitudes towards the personal hygiene behavior of traders (p=0.028). Conclusion: Good knowledge and attitudes towards personal hygiene are associated with better hygiene behavior among traders. Therefore, increasing hygiene knowledge and attitudes among food traders needs to be strengthened through ongoing education and outreach to improve food hygiene standards in public areas. Abstract

Background: Exercise therapy is a medical rehabilitation intervention to increase upper and lower extremity muscle strength in post-stroke patients. Objective: This study aims to determine the characteristics of stroke patients at H. Abdul Manap Jambi Regional Hospital in 2022–2024, including age, gender, and history of comorbidities (hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia). In addition, this study identifies muscle strength before and after exercise therapy and analyzes the effect of therapy duration on increasing muscle strength. Methods: This study is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. Secondary data were obtained from medical records of stroke patients at H. Abdul Manap Jambi Regional Hospital from 2022 to 2024. The sample consisted of 52 patients who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis used the Paired Sample T-test or Wilcoxon test based on the normality test. Results: Exercise therapy significantly increased upper and lower extremity muscle strength after exercise therapy (p <0.05). Most patients experienced improvement on the Manual Muscle Testing (MMT) scale, especially in the lower extremities, with a dominant increase from scores 2 to 3 and 4. Conclusion: Exercise therapy significantly increases upper and lower extremity muscle strength in post-stroke patients. Therefore, it can be recommended in rehabilitation to optimize motor function recovery.
