Abstract

Pontianak city has tropical climate and crossed by the equator. This phenomenon has an impact on the level of thermal comfort in a room, especially in North Pontianak District which is close to 0˚ latitude. library of the Public Elementary School (SDN) 27 North Pontianak is one of the examples. This library is located on the equator with coordinates 0˚00˚07N 109˚20'02E which has high temperature and high humidity levels. This condition impact on bad thermal comfort. bad thermal comfort can affect the health of indoor activities. Therefore, the thermal comfort level needs to be research and provide a room's solution to achieve a neutral thermal comfort condition. This research measures the thermal comfort's variables on PMV (Predicted Mean Vote). The variables measured were air temperature, radiation temperature, humidity and wind speed, the observed variables were metabolic values and clothing insulation. The thermal comfort level will be calculated using the Center of Building Environment (CBE) Thermal Comfort Tool. The results of this research indicate that the level of thermal comfort in the library which is calculated using the CBE Thermal Comfort Tool have PMV value ranging 0,07 to 2,96. Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many public facilities to temporarily close, including fitness facility providers. Pontianak City is one of the major cities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The temporary closure of fitness facilities in Pontianak City resulted in the unavailability of fitness facilities for the community. The COVID-19 pandemic has evoked a trend of healthy living, thus providing opportunities for the rise of fitness and health facilities. Generally, fitness and relaxation facilities have a mix of male and female activities. The combination of activities between the two sexes causes discomfort for women. The design is carried out with the stages of introduction, definition, preparation, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and reevaluation. The result of the design is a building that accommodates women in Pontianak City in carrying out physical and psychological fitness activities with emphasis on the comfort and health aspects of space. The aspect of space comfort in the building is realized by placing the space zone and choosing the type of circulation to create an atmosphere of private space. The design of the Women's Special Fitness and Relaxation Center in Pontianak City uses a Post-Pandemic Architecture approach aimed at creating a pandemic response room design. Efforts to create healthy spaces are carried out by using natural ventilation (openings and gardens) and artificial ventilation (bipolar purification technology). The building uses a smart technology system on touch areas such as doorknobs as well as material selection that considers the length of life of the virus on the surface area.

Abstract

Heritage buildings as architectural heritage assets that describe the identity of a region and the architecture of the past are important to be conserved and maintained. One of the cultural heritage buildings in Indonesia is Alwatzikhoebillah Sambas Palace. This building was built with wood construction. The condition of wood with age will experience changes in characteristics due to its interaction with various factors, especially biological and non-biological factors. Changes in any form cannot be underestimated, so documentation of cultural heritage buildings is needed. One way of documenting cultural heritage buildings is Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM documentation can record various building information that is inputted in it. This research aim was to mapping and assessing the damage to the physical elements of wood on one of the accompanying buildings on the north side of the Alwatzikhoebillah Palace using BIM. BIM information contains the color code, mapping code, and the extent of the damage that occurs in the 2D view. The variables of this study were limited to biological damage caused by fungi and moss, also non-biological factors due to mechanical, weather, and chemical factors. The results of this research is the wall elements are dominantly damaged caused by wood staining fungus or mechanical erosion and weather changes of 1,64% with the effect of gray stains left on the elements.

Abstract

According to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2010, the forms of cultural heritage are very diverse and one of them is in the form of buildings. Sambas is one of the areas that have a long-standing cultural heritage building, namely the Jami Mosque of the Sambas Sultanate. This building has been standing since 1727 and is one of the witnesses to the history of the sultanate government in Sambas in the past. The age of the mosque is now more than 100 years and attention to the condition of the building is needed, especially to the slope or difference in elevation. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the condition of the historic building of the Jami Mosque of the Sultanate of Sambas on the slope or difference in elevation. This research was conducted by quantitative descriptive with field observation data collection methods and literature review. Field observations were carried out through manual measurements. The measurement data will be processed to evaluate its condition. Measurements will be carried out on one of the rooms in the Jami Mosque of the Sambas Sultanate, namely the Storage Room. From the results of measurements of the floor of the Storage Room, the results showed that there was a deflection of the floor at one of the measuring points. This can indicate a slope, so further inspection is needed to determine the factors causing the slope, as well as recommendations for improvement to minimize the risk of the slope getting worse.

Abstract

Wind load is one of the main calculations in architectural design, and in the initial process, a designer is more dominant in directing shapes based on structure rather than expressing himself in the form of his design work. While form is the basic element that appears in architectural work, there are various methods of finding forms that have appeared in the development of architectural science. For this reason, the concept of folding architecture is focused on how to process shapes, using the "folding extrude" technique to produce shapes that can reduce the amount of wind load. The object taken in this study is a tall building, with the chosen case study namely the Mahkota Hotel Singkawang, which is the tallest building in West Kalimantan Province. This study raises the simulation process to be carried out by digital simulation with Computational Fluid Dynamics in Autodesk CFD software. The results of this study are from the transformation of the folding extrude technique which has the same shape as one of the architectural elements. From the results of a comparison of the wind load on the surface of ordinary buildings and the results of the folding extrude form, it is proven to be able to reduce wind loads by 15.1%.

Abstract

The thermal comfort of the teacher’s lounge at the Public School Buildings of SDN 27 in North Pontianak is an important factor in providing room conditions to support the activities of teaching staff. Thermally, comfortable conditions play a role in increasing the productivity of teaching staff. However, the thermal condition of the teacher’s lounge at SDN 27 in Northest Pontianak does not meet the thermal comfort standards. Based on the facts, the thermal condition needs to be solved to achieve comforts in teacher’s lounge. Formulation of indicators for thermal comfort conditions was conducted in this research with CFD simulation. A seven-day research process obtained on the observation of thermal comfort levels in the teacher’s lounge. The modeling of the software includes indicators for adding heat loads under the roof and changing the wall paint color to beige. Both indicators can reduce the room temperature by 9.4 °C. In addition, changing the opening and applying cross ventilation are also indicators that the teacher’s lounge achieves a comfortable, thermally neutral condition. The final result of this study is that a teacher’s lounge has a 0.26 value of thermal comfort, and the room conditions have a neutral thermal sensation value.

Abstract

Indonesia is home to six of the world's seven species of sea turtles. Since 1981 internationally sea turtles have been included in the red list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature Resources (IUCN) and Appendix I of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). In 1990, turtles were protected by Law Number 5 of 1990 concerning the Conservation of Biological Natural Resources and their Ecosystems. Its existence is protected because sea turtles act as a balancer of marine ecosystems. Sea turtles are endangered due to high exploitation, damaged habitats and the threat of predators. One of the turtle nesting and conservation areas in Indonesia is in Paloh Beach, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan Province starting from 2009-present. Design of the Sea Turtle Conservation Center in Paloh Beach, Sambas Regency as infrastructure to support turtle monitoring activities, research and education centers, information centersand tourism. The design location is at Tanjung Api Beach, Sebubus Village, Paloh District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. The design theme is adjusted to the principle of conservation, namely "2P" (Protection and Preservation) meaning protection of life support systems (Protection), and preservation of the use of biological natural resources and their ecosystems (Preservation). This design uses field research methods (field reserch) which includes observation, documentation and interview techniques. The design results contain several masses which include management buildings, infor masi centers, inns, monitoring posts, research buildings, turtle shelter buildings, semi-natural nests and others. The buildings above are grouped based on conservation, research, education and tourism functions. With the existence of the Sea Turtle Conservation Center in Paloh Beach, it is hoped that it can be a place for conservation and maintain the sustainability of turtle habitat.

Abstract

Elderly people is someone who has reached the age of 60 years and above. The elderly experience a decrease in organ function, physical and psychological conditions that cause them to not be optimal in meeting their life needs. Despite their declining body condition, the elderly must remain active and socialize. The activity area of the elderly group is different from the productive age group because there are many physical and psychological changes. As life expectancy increases, the Pontianak City Government is aggressively making efforts to maintain the social welfare level of the elderly. On the other hand, a special place for Elderly activities is not yet available. The design of the senior center aims to create a place for senior activities that meets the design standards. The design method uses four steps, namely determining the design object, types and techniques of data collection, analysis, synthesis, and preparation of design stages. Data is obtained from surveys and interviews (primary data), literature studies and precedent studies (secondary data). The result of the design of the senior center is a building design that pays attention to the physical and psychological comfort of the elderly. The design area has 5 masses, namely the reception building, health building, library, hall, and service building. The senior center is expected to be a solution to meet the needs of elderly activities so that physical and mental health is maintained, and can be empowered so that their level of welfare is more secure. Keywords: Elderly, activity, senior center
