Abstract

Kata kunci: Nandong, Over Range, reinterpretasi, Luncur Laung,Vokal. ABSTRACT “LUNCUR LAUNG” is a work of musical composition based on Nandong art, precisely at the beginning of each penandong poem. “LAUNCUR LAUNG” consists of two syllables, where “LAUNCUR” means to glide and “LAUNG” is a strong (loud) sound that is shouted (to call or exclaim). This means that the word "LUNCUR LAUNG" in this work is analogous to a form of launching a strong and loud sound, this is clearly seen in the art of NandongSimeulue where the Over Range vocal which is formed with three elements, namely long, high and shrill, becomes a very strong character. The focus of the work is the Over Range contained in Nandong's vocals. Over Range here is a vocal element that is forced to exceed the range limits of the instrument. Over Range in the work "LUNCUR LAUNG" will be actualized through working on material and using techniques that can realize Darya's ideas. this work, tempo changes, and working on harmony. This work was worked on using a reinterpretation approach, by using Over Range and the three elements that form it, namely long, high and shrill, as material for the work using vocal instruments, seurune kale, liliseurune kale, flute, bass guitar and electric guitar. Keywords: Nandong, Over Range, reinterpretation, LuncurLaung, Vocal.

Abstract

“Tene Simah Kuet” is a karawitan musical composition that originates from the regum/code music element in Didong art. In Didong art, regum plays an important role as a marker for the end of the game. “Tene Simah Kuet” can be interpreted as a sign/marker that carries power in the form of changes in tempo and dynamics of a game. In this case, the artist interprets Regum in Didong art through development into rhythm and vocal forms. The work “Tene Simah Kuet” consists of a single part of the work that actualizes the regum/code of forte dynamics in the work section. “Tene Simah Kuet”  is actualized using the work material and techniques or musical terms of unison, call and response, hocketing, and dynamics. This work is worked on using a reinterpretation work approach, by making the hard dynamic regum in Didong into pillows, vocals, body percussion and wooden sticks.
