Abstract

This study aimed to examine the technical and economic feasibility of lais aquaculture production. A cultivation activity was done in order to increase profits. Primary data was collected by interviewing fish cultivators and secondary data was obtained from related references. The bioecological characteristics of lais fish made this fish a candidate for aquaculture commodities paying attention to the management and technology used. Various technical aspects of production need evaluated continuously, including site selection, seed stocking, feeding, water quality management, fish health, harvesting, and marketing. Referring to the components of the evaluation results which were very lacking. Farmers need partners as mentors and access to several facilities to support production components that have not been maximized, one of which is the provision of best practices of fish handling certified superior lais fish fry.

Abstract

Pakan alami merupakan faktor penting yang dibutuhkan dalam kegiatan budidaya ikan lele. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan pertumbuhan larva ikan lele terhadap pemberian pakan alami yang berbeda. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimen malalui empat perlakuan P0 (kontrol), P1 (pakan komersil), P2 (kutu air), P3 (maggot). Data yang diambil meliputi pertumbuhan bobot mutlak, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak, kelangsungan hidup dan kualitas air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan lele yang paling tinggi ialah pada perlakuan P0 (90%) dan P3 (76%). Untuk bobot tertinggi adalah  perlakuan P2 (0,29 gr) dan P3 0,22 gr. Bobot rata-rata tertinggi pada perlakuan P0 dan P2 karena pakan yang diberikan pada ikan mengandung protein yang tinggi. Panjang rata-rata tertinggi terdapat pada P2 3.21 cm dan P3 2.79 cm. Parameter kualitas air selama penelitian diantaranya suhu 26,3-32,7oC, pH 7,36-7,51, oksigen terlarut 3,85-5,45 mg L-1. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah hasil pemberian pakan alami yang berbeda pada setiap perlakuan berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan panjang dan bobot benih ikan lele memberikan hasil terbaik pada perlakuan menggunakan pakan alami Moina sp. pada perlakuan (P2) dengan nilai pertumbuhan bobot 0,29 gr, panjang rata-rata 3,21 cm, kelangsungan hidup 88%. Kualitas air selama pemeliharaan masih dalam kisaran optimum sehingga mendukung pertumbuhan benih lele yang diperlihara.

Abstract

Abstract. The feed is one of the components that support the growth and survival in fish culture. One of the alternative feed ingredients which could use as other feed ingredient was Indigofera zollingeriana leaves. The aims of this research was to determine the use of Indigofera zollingeriana leaves on the growth performance of Patin (Pangasius sp.). This research consisted of five treatments and three replications. Indigofera zollingeriana leaves were used in the diet amount of P0 (0%) (without Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition ), P1 (10% Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition), P2 (20% Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition), P3 (30% Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition), and P4 (40% Indigofera zollingeriana leaves addition). The result showed that the use of Indigofera zollingeriana leaves had a significant effect on the fish growth performance. The use of 20% zollingeriana Indigofera produced the best results of the absolute weight of 2.15 g, 1.00% daily growth rate and feed efficiency of 44.60%.Keywords: Patin, feed ingredient, Indigofera zollingeriana leaveAbstrak. Abstract

The value of catfish production in Indonesia has decreased drastically every year. Increasing stocking density can be a solution to increase production, but it will have a negative impact on decreasing water quality which will also disrupt catfish production. Therefore, it needs to be accompanied by the application of biofloc and aquaponics technology which plays a role in maintaining optimal water quality while providing additional natural feed (floc) which can reduce feed use and reduce water usage. This study aims to increase the production value of sangkuriang catfish through the application of biofloc and aquaponic systems. This research was conducted in October-November 2022 at the Raudhatul Ulum Sakatiga Agribusiness Group, Ogan Ilir Regency. This study was designed using a comparison experiment. The treatments given consisted of P0 (control), P1 (Maintenance of sangkuriang catfish aquaponic biofloc of kale plant), and P2 (Maintenance of Sangkuriang catfish aquaponic biofloc of lettuce plant). The results showed that P2 was the best treatment which resulted in absolute growth in weight and length of 7.18 g and 3.74 cm, survival of 98%, and growth in length of kale of 30.9 cm.Keywords: aquaponics; biofloc; sangkuriang catfish

Abstract

Java combtail (Belontia hasselti) is a fish originating from swamps that is widely used by the community and needs to be developed through hatchery cultivation. The Kelekar II Farmer Group in Burai Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency is one of the farmer groups that still relies on seasonal harvests from nature. Excessive agility fishing activities can threaten the extinction of the java combtail population. Research purpose to determine the effect of giving different gonadotrophine hormone on the semi-natural spawning of java combtail (Belontia hasselti) in Burai village, Tanjung Batu District. This research was carried out in Burai Village, North Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, in September-November 2022. The spawning of the java combtail used a different dose in treatment 1 (P1) by injecting the gonadotropin hormone at a dose of 0.3 ml kg-1 fish weight and treatment 2 (P2) by injecting gonadotropin hormone dose of 0.5 ml kg-1 fish weight. The research results obtained the best dose of 0.5 ml kg-1 resulting produced a fecundity at 2.677 eggs, hatching time at 24 hours, fertilization rate at 75%, hatching rate at 93% and Survival Rate (SR) at 80.8%. Water quality obtained in this research activity is a temperature ranged from 25.9-32.0 oC, pH 5.1-6.65, DO 3.1-6.65 mg L-1 and ammonia 0.051-0.121 mg L-1.

Abstract

The aims of this research were to determine the hatching percentage of snakehead fish egg which incubated on different duration of aeration (oxygen supply). This research had been conducted in the Fish Breeding Unit “Batanghari Sembilan”, Indralaya since October until November 2017. This research used Completely Randomized Design method (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replications consist of; P1 (24 hours, aerated), P2 (24 hours non aerated), P3 (12 hours aerated, 12 hours non aerated), P4 (10 hours aerated, 14 hours non aerated) and P5 (8 hours aerated, 16 hours non aerated). The result of this research showed that the best hatching percentage, were P4 81.64%. Survival rate of pro larva (3 day old / D3), the best result were treatment 4 (P4), 86,54%. Baside on, hatching percentage and survival rate of prolarva parameter, P4 is the best treatment. Furthemore, time efficiency and cost of operation fish breeding program, treatment P4 suggested.   Key words: egg snakehead fish, aeration, dissolved oxygen.
