Abstract

Tanaman nipah (Nypa fruticans Wumb) dikelompokkan ke dalam tanaman hutan mangrove yang tumbuh di daerah pantai di muara sungai yang berair payau. Penggunaan daun nipah pada ikan baru sebagai antibakteri sedangkan kandungan nutrisi daun nipah dan aktivitas antioksidan daun nipah muda dan tua belum diketahui. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kandungan nutrisi dan aktivitas antioksidan daun nipah muda dan tua sebagai bahan pakan ikan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan analisis proksimat dan uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode 1,1-difenil-2 pikrilhidrazil (DPPH). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daun nipah mengandung kandungan nutrisi terutama karbohidrat yang tinggi dan antioksidan sangat kuat sehingga berpotensi menjadi bahan pakan ikan. Kandungan nutrisi daun nipah muda yang dihasilkan yaitu protein 10,64%, lemak 1,27%, bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen (BETN) 41,07%, serat kasar 38,82%, abu 8,20%  dan nilai aktivitas antioksidan IC50 sebesar 29,04 µg/mL sedangkan kandungan nutrisi daun nipah tua yang dihasilkan yaitu protein 14,23%, lemak 2,33%, bahan ekstrak tanpa nitrogen (BETN)  49,99%, serat kasar 20,5*%, abu 12,88% dan nilai aktivitas antioksidan IC50 sebesar 43,59 µg/mL.Kata Kunci:  Antioksidan, Daun Nipah, Nutrisi, Pakan Ikan

Abstract

Pratama et al, 2018. The Effect of Different C/N Ratio in for Biofloc of Formation Culture Media to the Growth and Survival Rate of Juvenile Climbing Perch (Anabas testudineus). JLSO 7(1):66-73. Climbing perch fish resources still have a problem due to this fish is still obtained only through capture and also the growth of climbing perch fish is slow. The solutions to increase the growth of the climbing perch fish is by applying biofloc technology for climbing perch fish culture. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of different C/N ratio on the growth of climbing perch fish (Anabas testudineus) juvenille with biofloc farming system. This research used a completely randomized design consist of four treatments and three replications. The treatments were without molase (P0), molase with C/N ratio 15 (P1), C/N 20 (P2) and C/N ratio 25 (P3). The results showed that C / N ratio 20 was the best treatment with absolute length of growth of 1.33 cm, absolute growth of weight 1.92 g, survival rate of 99.17% and feed efficiency 138.06%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTCoconut dregs is waste from coconut milk production. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of fermented coconut dregs feeding on the growth and efficiency of catfish feed and to know the exact percentage in feed formulation on catfish. This research was conducted from November to December 2017 at Aquaculture Laboratory of Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a complete randomized design with 5 treatments and 2 replications. The treatment was used the difference of percentage of the fermented coconut dregs flour in the formulation of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%. Data to be collected include growth, survival, feed efficiency, formulated analysis of each treatment consisting of water, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrate, and crude fiber and water quality. The result of this research showed that the absolute growth of lengthy P4 is 0.54 cm, the absolute growth of weight P4 is 1.42 g, the best feed consumption in P0 with total feed consumption is 3.43 g.individu-1, feed efficiency P4 is 47.82% and survival rate P4 is 87.50%. Water quality during research were still optimum for catfish with temperature 26.0-29.0oC, pH 6.5-8.1, DO 4.57-8.86 mg.L-1 and ammonia 0.003-0.02 mg.L-1. Keywords: Catfish, Coconut dregs, Feed efficiency, Fermentation, Growth

Abstract

ABSTRACT          One of the bacterial diseases that attacks freshwater fish is Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS) caused by Aeromonas hydrophila. The aim of this research is to know the effect of different feeding time duration that contain Phaleria macrocarpa flour to prevent of A. hydrophila. Research was conducted from September until November 2016 on Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University and Laboratorium UPT Klinik Kesehatan. The research designed based on Completely Ranomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. Clarias sp. was given feed treatment for 14 days (P1), 21 days (P2), and 28 days (P3). Feed treatment in the form of flour Phaleria add to commercial feed as many as 1 gram from 100 grams of commercial feed. The parameters observed on this research were total leucocytes,  hematocrit concentration, growth, prevalence, and survival. The result showed that the addition of P. macrocarpa flour on feed was to prevent infection caused A. hydrophila revaled by decreasing of prevalence of fish. The addition of Phaleria macrocarpa flour  for 21 days is the best treatment, seen from the increasing total leucocytes and hematocrit concentration and produse survival of 86,67% and prevalence value of 32,68% after injected by A. hydophila bacteria.Keywords: Aeromonas hydrophila, Clarias sp., Phaleria macrocarpa

Abstract

The demand of live carp is higher and the price can be higher than the price of died carp. One of  ways to transport live fish was wet transportation system. The aim of this research was to know the effect of red guava leaf extract for reducing metabolism of common carp during transportation. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) with defferent concentration with four treatments and three replications i.e. of P. guajava var. pomifera leaves extract 0% (T0), 0.25% (T1), 0.50% (T2), and 0.75% (T3). The observed parameters were survival rate, glucose analysis and water quality (temperature, pH,  Dissolved Oxygen (DO), Total Ammonia Nitrogen (TAN) and carbon dioxide (CO2)). Addition of red fruit guava leave extract into transport media during transportation increased the percentage of survival rate of common carp during transportation. The survival rate of during transportation common carp was highest on T1, with the concentration of red fruit guava leave extract by 0.25%. The value of average in blood glucose levels was found in T2 (0.50%). Addition of P. guajava var. pomifera extract was able to reduce TAN values during transportation and the addition of P. guajava var. pomifera extract did not cause further effects on the survival rate of carp during maintenance post-transportation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Feed management was a key factor influencing fish growth. One of the method that could be applied was the fish growth. The study aimed to determine the best of feeding frequency in rearing of gouramy fry. This research was conducted in February-March 2018 at Experimental Ponds Laboratorium of Aquculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a Randomized Completed Design (RCD) which consisted of four treatments and three replications, i.e provision of feed 2 times a day (P1), 3 times a day (P2), 4 times a day (P3), and 5 times a day (P4). The results showed that P3 (4 times a day) give the best values with the absolute weight, absolute length, feed efficiency and survival rate were 1.25 g, 1.63 cm, 90.86% and 98.89% respectively. The water quality parameters measured were temperature (26-29 oC), pH (6,5-6,7), dissolved oxygen (4,1-4,9 mg.L-1), and ammonia (0,03-0,011 mg.L-1).Keywords : Feed, Feeding frequency, Gourami fry, Growth

Abstract

ABSTRACTSynbiotics are a balanced combination of probiotics and prebiotics. Synbiotics indirectly influence the population of bacteria in the digestive tract and survival of the fish. The purpose of this research is to determine the affection of synbiotic addition to diet for population of intestinal bacteria, feed efficiency, survival rate and growth of tilapia. This research conducted on October-December 2016 at Laboratorium Budidaya Perairan, Departement of Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya. This research methode used Completly Randomize Design with six treatments and three replications. Tilapia feed treated with different dose of sweet potato extract prebiotics. P0 treatment by feeding (commercial pellets without probiotics and prebiotics), P1 treatment (5 ml probiotic + 2,5 ml prebiotic/kg pellets), P2 treatment (5 ml probiotic + 5,0 ml prebiotic/kg pellets), P3 treatment (5 ml probiotic + 7,5 ml prebiotic/kg pellets), P4 treatment (5 ml probiotic + 10 ml prebiotic/kg pellets) and P5 treatment (5 ml probiotic + 12,5 ml prebiotic/kg pellets). Parameters to be observed is population of intestinal bacteria, feed efficiency, growth and survival rate of tilapia. The highest value population of intestinal bacteria is P5 treatment with 4,17x104 cfu/ml. P3 treatment has the highest value of feed efficiency 50,19%, growth of length 1,92 cm, growth of weight 8,87 gram and survival rate 88,89%. Keywords: synbiotic, probiotic, prebiotic, feed.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of the study was to know the best salinity of eggs hatching period, the hatching percentage, the hatching rate, the percentage of normal larva and survival rate of baung fish larva (Hemibagrus nemurus Blkr.) until it 2 days age.   This research was conducted at Balai Benih Ikan of Gandus sub-district, Palembang, South Sumatra Province in February 2008. This research used the Complete Random Design with four different salinity treatments as like S0 (control), S1 (2 ppt), S2 (4 ppt), and S3 (6 ppt) by each three replications. Parameter observed the hatching period, the hatching percentage, the hatching rate, the percentage of normal larva, the survival rate of larva 2 days age, and  water quality. This result of the research showed that the salinity influenced evidently on the hatching capability of Baung Fish Eggs. The salinity 6 ppt had fastest time for the hatching period with of hatching time was 21.73 hours then hatch entirely after 29 hours. The best salinity for the hatching percentage (85,33%) and the hatching rate  (21.37 fish per hour) was 2 ppt. The control had the highest value (95.05%) for the percentage of normal larva. The salinity of 2 ppt had the highest value (82.59%) for the life of larva on age of 2 days. This measure of water quality is temperature (27.5 oC-28 oC), pH (7.00-7.12), DO (6.0-6.5 mg.L-1), and NH3 (0.05-0.09 mg.L-1).   Keywords: Hemibargus nemurus, salinity, egg hatching percentage

Abstract

The goldfish is a ornamental fish that it has color of variations from red, yellow, white, orange, black and silver . The study aims to determine the effect from the addition carrot flour the feed to improve the color of the goldfish. This research was conducted on October - November 2018 at Laboraturium Kolam Percobaan, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University. Design the study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consist four treatments with three replications namely (T0) without carrot flour, (T1) 5% carrot flour in feed, (T2) 10% carrot flour in feed, (T3) 15% carrot flour in the feed. Parameters observed improving of goldfish, weight of fish, feed consumption, survival rate and water quality (temperature, pH and DO). The result showed of the study obtained a total comparison of the differences in color of goldfish was 8.15 (T0), 24.23 (T1), 22.92 (T2) and 18.75  (T3). Weight was T0 (0,87 cm - 0,85 g), T1 (0,99 cm - 1.04 g), T2 (0,89 cm - 0,63) and T3 (0,99 cm - 0,54 g). Feed consumption was T0 (9,25), T1 (9,94), T2 (12,00) and T3 (11,77). Survival rate was T0 (93,33%), T1 (100,00%), T2 (100,00%) and T3 (100,00%).  Water  quality during maintenance were temperature 25.0 – 35.8 0C, pH 6.5 – 8.9, DO 4.09 – 6.30 mg/L.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSynbiotic is a combination of probiotics and prebiotics can improve the feed efficiency, growth, survival and BAL population of fish.  The purpose of this research was to know the effect of synbiotic feed to feed efficiency, growth, survival and immune response of catfish. This research conducted on October to December 2016 in Laboratorium Dasar Perikanan, Departement of Budidaya Perairan, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used in the research is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments and three replications. Catfish with synbiotic feed that treatment with the addition of commercial feed with synbiotic P0 (Control), P1 (2.5 ml  Prebiotics + Probiotics 6 ml /kg), P2 (5.0 ml  Prebiotics + Probiotics 6 ml /kg), P3 (7.5 ml  Prebiotics + Probiotics 6 ml /kg), P4 (10.5  ml  Prebiotics + Probiotics 6 ml /kg) and P5 (12.5 ml  Prebiotics + Probiotics 6 ml /kg) for 30 days. The observed parameters were feed efficiency, growth, survival, BAL populations in the gut and clinical symptoms after challenge test. The results showed that provision addition of synbiotic in feed give significant effect to feed efficiency, growth and survival of catfish. The treatment P2 with synbiotic feed (5.0 ml Prebiotics + 6 ml Probiotics /kg) gives the feed efficiency (39,27%), the highest growth of weight (4.38 g), the highest growth of length (1.74 cm),  the survival (97.78%), LAB (Lactid Acid Bacteria)  population (3.51 x 104 CFU.mL-1) and survival after test challenge with A. hydrophila (86.67%).  Keywords: Sinbiotic, Pakan, Pangaius sp, Aeromonas hydrophila
