Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research to describe the ethnomatematics of the Seblang Olehsari Ritual on the concept of geometry. The research method is descriptive qualitative research using ethnography. The Subject of this study is pawang and dancer of Seblang Olehsari. Data collection with survey, observation and intervews. The results showed that ethnomatematics was used by the Osing ethnic in carrying out the Seblang Olehsari ritual, such as: in the design of ritual places, designing dance costumes and dance patterns performed by dancers when trance. The mathematical concept (geometry) that applied by Osing ethnic, include: the concepts of points, lines, angles, flat shapes, similarity, congruent, and geometric transformations Keywords: Ethnomatematics, Seblang Olehsari Ritual, Geometry.

Abstract

Abstract.This research aims to know how the process and the result of developing mathematics learning materials based on NCTM (National Council of Teachers of Mathematics) of trigonometry topic at grade X senior high school. This study developessyllabus, lesson plan,worksheet, evaluation test, and Studentbook.The development mathematics learning materials standardized NCTM. This development model refers to 4-D Thiagarajan and Sammel & Samel models. This four steps are defining step, designing step, developing step, and disseminating step.The product of learning materials development standardized by NCTMfortrigonometry topic has fulfilled the validation criteria, practicability, and effectiveness. Abstract

The purpose of this research was to produce a product to attract students’ interest in learning mathematics tha tested the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of using e-Comic based technology as a learning supplement to the application of quadratic functions. The development of technology is very rapid resulted in many students’ more interested in in using gadgets such as computer, laptops, handphone, and tablets rather than reading the textbook activities. This research was processed through the stages of 4D that is define, design, development, and disseminate. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri 7 Jember which involved 32 students’ of class 9B. The result of the research show that the development media is valid according to the material expert and the media expert with the percentage of the archieved value 95,3% from validator I, 89% from validator II, and validator III gives 96% value. Effective media with learning test reasult followed 32 students’ in this research show 81,25% complete. Quetionnaire showed a percentage of a 94% from student for practicality. Abstract

Abstract. This research describes about mathematic connection ability in class IX B SMP Negeri 7 Jember subject discussion is statistic. Data collection methods which were used are test and interview. The research subjects consist of 3 students where one student has high mathematical connection ability, one student has medium mathematical connection ability, and one student has low mathematical connection ability. Students with high mathematical connections have three indicators of mathematical connection capability. Students with medium mathematical connections have two indicators of mathematical connection capability, and students with low mathematical connection ability do not have the 3 indicators of mathematical connection capability.
