Abstract

Elementary school teachers in Cluster II of the Gerung sub-district are very rare and some have never even used teaching aids in teaching mathematical concepts. That makes students have difficulty understanding abstract mathematics subject matter, while elementary school children are still in the stage of concrete or semi-abstract thinking. Therefore, this activity aims to empower elementary school teachers in Cluster II of the Gerung sub-district in implementing Kopermatik teaching aids (Math Game Box) by providing training to elementary school teachers on how to make and use Kopermatic props. Kopermatik is a set of elementary school mathematics teaching props that include teaching aids for learning algebra, geometry, and numbers. The training methods include (1) presentation of material, (2) demonstration, (3) making of teaching aids in groups, (4) presentation of group work results, and (5) evaluation and follow-up. The service activity was located at SDN 2 Dasan Geres, with 18 elementary school teachers as participants. all participants actively practice making props for number cards and fraction cards in groups of two. The results of this activity are : (1) all participants practice making props for number cards and fraction cards in groups of two, and (2) 95% of participants can demonstrate the props they made correctly. The results of the questionnaire showed that all participants were happy with this activity and hoped that it would be held again for a longer time and with more materials. Participants can understand the training material because it is interesting and easy to understand

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of mathematical representation in solving algebraic problems in terms of the ability level of students at SMPN 4 Tanjung, the Academic Year 2021/2022. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The sample used was 27 students with the sampling technique used was purposive random sampling. Data collection techniques were carried out through tests and interviews. Based on the results of student test analysis, it was found that (1) the number of subjects in the high category was 6 students, indicating that the visual, symbolic, and verbal indicators were able to solve problems correctly and completely (2) the number of subjects in the medium category was 9 students. , shows that the visual, symbolic, and verbal indicators can state the problem but are incomplete (3) Furthermore, the number of subjects in the low category is 12 students, indicating that students have not been able to achieve the indicators of symbolic and verbal mathematical representation ability. The results of the research on students' mathematical representation abilities are 44.65%, the percentage value obtained from students' mathematical representation abilities on visual indicators is 18.31% in the high category, students' mathematical representation abilities on symbolic indicators are 15.43% in the medium category, then the ability students' mathematical representation of verbal indicators obtained 10.90% in the low category. This research on the ability of mathematical representation uses 3 indicators, namely visual or image representation, symbolic or expression, and verbal or written text words for further development by looking at other representational abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students’ mathematical communication skills in terms of learning outcomes in the one-variable linear equation material. The resreach method used in description test and interview. The subjects in this study wrw 26 students. This type of resreach is descriptive qualitative resreach. Based on data analysis 1) students with an average score of 90 have high mathematical communication skills, 2) students with an average score of 89,8 have moderate mathematical communication skills and 3) students with an average score of 83,5 have low mathematical communication skills.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis adalah kemampuan yang sangat penting dalam proses pembelajaran matematika, dalam memecahkan suatu masalah diperlukan proses terorganisasi salah satunya yaitu kemampuan berpikir kritis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita siswa ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah desktiptif kualitatif. Dimana instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes tulis berupa tiga butir soal materi Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel. Berdasarkan hasil hasil tes tertulis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dengan kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah berturut-turut adalah 8, 6, 18 siswa. Kemudian dipilih 2 siswa pada tiap kategori untuk mengerjakan soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan wawancara. Siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi memperoleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebanyak 45,75%, siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis sedang memperoleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebanyak 34,35%, siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis rendah memperoleh kemampuan pemecahan masalah sebesar 18,75%. Dimana dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 13 Mataram yang memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis tinggi sangat baik dalam memahami masalah dan merencanakan penyelesaian dan baik dalam tahap melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian dan memeriksa kembali. Siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis sedang baik dalam memahami masalah dan merencanakan penyelesaian, dan cukup dalam melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian dan memeriksa kembali. Sedangkan untuk siswa dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis rendah cukup dalam memahami masalah sedangkan masih kurang dalam merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, dan sangat kurang pada tahap memeriksa kembali.

Abstract

Penalitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh learning trajectory terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Sakra tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu design research dan eksperimen. Sampel yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas VII F. Yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini yaitu bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan learning trajectory siswa. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi dan tes. Analisis data meliputi uji prasyarat dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah siswa terlihat antusias dan turut secara aktif dalam mengikuti kegiatan pembelajaran seperti dalam kegiatan diskusi kelompok. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan learning trajectory dapat lebih optimal jika disesuaikan dengan materi pembelajaran dan hal tersebut dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan data penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa, adanya peningkatan hasil belajar siswa antara sebelum dan sesudah diberlakukannya pembelajaran dengan learning trajectory.

Abstract

Elementary school teachers in Cluster II Gerung District are still very rare in using visual aids in teaching mathematical concepts. As a result, students have difficulty understanding abstract mathematical material, while elementary school children are still at the concrete thinking stage. Therefore, this activity aims to train and assist elementary school teachers in Cluster II Gerung District in implementing Kopermatik teaching aids (Mathematics Game Boxes) for classroom learning. The training method includes discussions and demonstrations in making and using Kopermatik teaching aids as well as simulations in utilizing the Kopermatik teaching aids. This service activity was carried out at an elementary school in Gerung District, with 18 elementary school teachers participating. The results of the data analysis show that the teachers participating in the activity: (1) are enthusiastic and communicative in participating in the activity, (2) can practice making Kopermatik mathematics teaching aids with quite good and varied results, (3) give positive response to the usefulness of Kopermatik teaching aids, and (4) more than 65% of teachers were able to answer each evaluation question correctly

Abstract

the engagement activity begins with the development of technology and communication, as well as the high demand for mathematics learning media by teachers. On the other hand, the quality of education, particularly in junior high schools, is still low. Teachers' competence, especially in media usage and development, is also low. Therefore, a workshop on media development will be conducted to enhance teachers' competence and the availability of learning media. The implementation methods for this engagement activity include material presentations, demonstrations, practical exercises, group discussions, and evaluation with feedback. The results of this engagement activity show that the majority of junior high school teachers in Central Lombok believe that the use of Geogebra and augmented reality in mathematics learning has the potential to improve students' understanding of concepts, interest, motivation, creativity, and learning outcomes. Teachers also acknowledge the importance of their role in effectively integrating this technology. Thus, the use of Geogebra and augmented reality-based learning media can provide positive benefits in enhancing the quality of mathematics education in schools. It is important to consider contextual factors and readiness when implementing Geogebra and augmented reality. The utilization of technology, especially Geogebra and augmented reality, should be tailored to the needs, availability of resources, and characteristics of each educational level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of reference books for junior high school mathematics learning media. For this reason, a limited trial was carried out on 6 mathematics teachers at a junior high school in Mataram. This research uses a mixed approach or Mix methods. The research instrument consists of test instruments and interview guidelines about junior high school mathematics teachers' knowledge of junior high school learning media. The results of this study are Based on the data that has been melted and the wetting that has been carried out , significant differences in knowledge before and after studying junior high school mathematics learning media books , it can be concluded that junior high school mathematics learning media books are effective in increasing teacher knowledge in learning media, especially on knowledge about the benefits and functions of learning media, types of learning media, concept maps, interactive power points, student worksheets, props, and tools for creating junior high school math learning videos.

Abstract

Number sense is important to be mastered by a prospective mathematics teacher as a basis for learning mathematics and makes it easier to train students' flexibility in solving math problems related to numbers. However, the results of preliminary studies show that there are indications that the prospective teacher's ability to operate numbers is not good enough. This study uses quantitative methods that aim to investigate the number sense component of mathematics teacher candidates who are still weak. The respondents involved in this study were 36 students who were prospective third-year mathematics teachers who had taken linear algebra courses. The instrument used is a 30-item number sense problem developed based on the number sense component, namely understanding and skills about numbers, understanding and skills using number operations, and applying number skills and operations in computing. This number sense test is done for 30 minutes. The results showed that the number sense ability of prospective mathematics teacher students was average with an average percentage of correct answers of only 51.57%. The third component in number sense is the weakest mastered with a percentage of correct answers of only 46.39%.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematis sangat penting, karena dengan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep serta dapat mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir siswa. Namun kenyataan komunikasi matematis siswa belum sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika pada materi persamaan garis lurus siswa kelas VIII SMPN 3 Batukliang Utara. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VIII B. Pemilihan subjek didasarkan pada hasil tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan hasil pengelompokan matematika siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik tes dan wawancara. Sedangkan Instrumen penelitian berupa tes uraian dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis data kualitatif yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan komunikais matematis siswa kelas VIII B SMPN 3 Batukliang Utara berada dikategori sedang sebanyak 18 orang (75%). Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa dalam menyelesaikan tes komunikais matematis siswa berkategori cukup baik.
