Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematical disposition of students in post-covid-19 blended learning. The study is descriptive quantitative, the subject are 64 students in the even semester of the 2020/2021 academic year islamic education management study program. The research instrument is a mathematical disposition scale consisting of 12 items that have been validated by expert judgment and an interview guide. The mathematical disposition scale is prepared using a semantic differential scale. Data collection techniques by filling out a mathematical disposition scale and interviews. Based on the research results, students' mathematical dispositions in post-covid-19 Blended learning are included in the high category. Based on six aspects of disposition measured, four aspects are classified as high, the aspect of confidence in using mathematics in solving problems is classified as moderate, while the aspect of appreciating the usefulness of mathematics in everyday life and other fields of science is very low. This study is a preliminary study to see the mathematical disposition of students during blended learning. The aspect of appreciating the usefulness of mathematics needs special attention for further study where students have not fully recognized and realized the existence of mathematics in their daily activities and in other fields of science.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the ethnomathematics found in traditional Jambi musical instruments, especially wooden kelintang musical instruments. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative research using an ethnographic approach (socio-cultural) with data sources obtained from observation, interview, and documentation methods. Data analysis in this study uses the Spradley model analysis in Lexy J. Maleong including domain analysis, taxonomy analysis, component analysis, theme analysis. To check the validity of the data, the author uses the triangulation technique. This research was conducted at the Mindulahin Studio in Jambi City. The results of the study can be concluded that: 1) The mathematical concepts found in wooden kelintang musical instruments include: Flat shapes in the form of rectangles, circles, and trapezoids. Space shapes in the form of blocks, cylinders, angles in the form of 90 °, relations and functions, and arithmetic. 2) Ethnomathematic activities in wooden kelintang include activities of calculating, measuring, determining locations, making designs, playing, and explaining. All these activities can be seen from how to make wooden kelintang, the shape of the wooden kelintang, and when playing the wooden kelintang.

Abstract

Learning loss due to the Covid-19 pandemic is a big homework assignment for all aspects of education. The rapid development of science and technology requires every individual to adapt themselves. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has an interesting potential to be linked to learning. The objectives of this training are a) to increase teachers' pedagogical competence in using Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technology to create learning tools in schools; and b) Create innovative and effective learning tools and meaningful learning experiences for students based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Mathematics and Science subjects at school. The method used in this community service activity is Service Learning or SL which involves direct experience, academic learning and community involvement. The community service activities are carried out through six stages of activities, namely: (1) preparation of activities and socialization, (2) training of AI-based learning making, (3) on job training and asynchronous sharing, (4) accompanying the creation of learning tools with a combination of synchronic and assynchronized communication, (5) evaluation and control of the work of the participating teachers, and (6) reporting. The results obtained by participants experienced an increase in their pedagogical competency scores with an average N-gain (increase) value of 0.23, still in the low category.
