Abstract

Brake lining technology is developing rapidly to adjust the absorption media in which the vehicle's braking system is operating. Material commonly used as a brake lining is asbestos and its alloys, but this material is very dangerous to the environment and health. This research was developed to overcome these problems, namely finding alternative brake lining pads material that has good mechanical and physical properties. Brake lining material is made from a hybrid composite reinforced basalt, shellfish, alumina, and phenolic resin (PR-51510i) as a binding matrix. This brake lining material is produced through a process of sintering at a temperature of 150 ° C with a load of 2000 kg for 30 minutes. These hybrid composites are made in as many as three variations, each of which is tested for olie absorption at several variations of immersion time. Immersion 3 days hardness of hybrid composite and asbestos brake lining material is still quite high between 24-28 HVN. The highest hardness at that time was an H1 specimen of 28.00 HVN. Abstract

Manual materials handling has been identified as the most common cause of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Among the manual material handling activities, lifting has long been regarded as an activity associated with a high risk of low-back pain. Lifting studies have mainly focused on the squat and stoop lifting techniques as an effort to improve the protection of workers from low back discomfort. However, neither is ideal and the benefits of one technique over another have proved inconclusive. The purpose of this study was to examine and compare the squat and stoop lifting techniques through analysis of muscles activation by using electromyography. Six volunteers participated in the study, and were required to lift a weight with squat and stoop techniques, with two types of loading at 1,7 kg and 6,7 kg. Observations were made on the rectus femoris, biceps femoris, and multifidus muscles. The results of study showed that the squat technique had higher levels of muscle activation compared to stoop technique on rectus femoris muscle. On the contrary, squat technique had lower muscle activation compared to stoop technique on biceps fermoris muscle. Meanwhile, both techniques squat and stoop had the same level of muscle activation on multifidus muscle. Conclusion, squat and stoop lifting techniques had the same opportunities to use.

Abstract

Desa Buahan, Kecamatan Payangan di Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali merupakan desa Agraris dengan sebagian besar penduduknya bermata pencaharian sebagai petani dan peternak. Peternakan khusunya sapi dan babi banyak terdapat di daerah ini dan sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan sebagai sumber energi cadangan khusunya biogas yang diperoleh dari pengolahan limbah peternakan melalui digester anaerobic. Biogas sudah umum digunakan untuk memasak namun penggunaan biogas lebih lanjut untuk pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas perlu dikembangkan dan disebarluaskan. Hal ini disebabkan ketersediaan energI konvensional semakin langka yang menyebabkan harga listrik terus meningkat. Pengabdian ini bertujuan membangun pilot proyek pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas untuk memperkenalkan dan menyebarluaskan teknologi pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas skala rumah tangga yang terjangkau biayanya dan mudah teknologinya di Desa Buahan, Kecamatan Payangan, Gianyar, Bali. Selanjutnya kegiatan ini berhasil membuat pembangkit listrik tenaga biogas dengan kapasitas 1000 watt dengan berbahan bakar biogas dan sudah terpasang dengan baik dilengkapi dengan rumah genset. Penelitian ini juga menghasilkan Kompor biogas tunggu ganda untuk dapat digunakan memasak dengan menggunakan biogas.

Abstract

Silk can be produced by spider or insect and have prospect as biomaterial for regenerative healing in medical treatment. Silk having physical and chemical properties that support biocompatibility in the living things..In this research, silk that was obtained from Indonesia natural resource of Attacus atlas silkmoth was explored and then will be developed for biocompatible biomaterial. The treatment with NaOH was developed to separate the fiber from the cocoon. The obtained fiber is investigated its mechanical property by performing tensile test for single fiber. The biocompatibility testing was conducted with human cell (osteosarccoma) cultivation. The result identify that separation by using NaOH yield better better mechanical properties comparing konvenstional method with boiling in hot water. Biocompatibility testing indicate that the the fiber having good biocompatibility.

Abstract

The Pitik Jaya Women Farmers Group (KWT) is a business group located in Baluk village which is classified as a home business or home industry. This business group produces several types of products including; shredded eggs, flavored salted peanuts and others. In running its business, KWT faces a number of problems, especially for the production of the flavored salted peanuts. This problem is caused by the process of roasting peanuts using a rolling machine which is relatively simple with a limited capacity made from steel plates and is easily corroded and the spices are still stirred manually so it is uneven. Another problem is related to the high cost of LPG fuel used to heat the roaster. Based on this situation and to overcome these problems, the community service team designed and manufactured a roasting machine with biogas fuel. The field service activity (KWT Pitik Jaya) was carried out on August 22, 2021 in the form of an introduction and demonstration of a biogas-fired roasting machine. Next, on August 29, 2021, a safety demonstration was held and the official handover of the machine was attended by members of the Pitik Jaya KWT, the dedication team, Engineering students from the Udayana University Mechanical Engineering Study Program and Baluk village officials. The use of this biogas-fired roasting machine plays a very important role in increasing the production of flavored salted peanuts which reaches 320% or more than three times, as well as fuel cost efficiency reaching 90%, because it no longer uses LPG. Abstract

The characteristics of nurses' work in the general treatment unit of the North Denpasar Health Center are nursing diagnoses during service hours followed by administrative work, without short breaks. The intervention was carried out in the form of Workplace Stretching Exercise, by giving sweet tea and listening to music after service hours. This study aims to reduce mental burden and fatigue and improve nurses’ performance. The study used treatment by subject design which involved 14 samples. Period 1 was work process without intervention and Period 2 was work process with interventions in the form of giving stretching, sweet tea and music. Mental load was recorded using a NASA-TLX questionnaire, fatigue was recorded with a 30 item exhaustion questionnaire and performance was recorded with a performance questionnaire. Data were analysed using t-paired with a value of ? 0.05 for normally distributed data and Wilcoxon test for data that was not normally distributed. The results showed the mean mental load score was higher in Period I, i.e. the work process without intervention which was 65.14, the mean fatigue score was higher when after working in Period I which was 57.36 and the mean score of performance was higher in Period II which was 3.82. Provision of Workplace Stretching Exercise, sweet tea and listening to music reduced mental burden by 37.05%, reduced fatigue by 33.56% and improved performance by 25.66%. It was concluded that the provision of ergonomics in the form of Workplace Stretching Exercise, sweet tea and listening to music reduced mental burden, fatigue and significantly improved performance of nurses in the general treatment unit at the North Denpasar Health Center.

Abstract

The equipment, such as broomsticks used by street sweepers are not appropriate based on anthropometric aspects, with a potency to induce inconvenience among them. Working with equipment that is not ergonomics, in addition to non-physiological work posture can cause fatigue, musculoskeletal disorders, and increased workload. This study aims to determine whether redesign an ergonomic-based broomstick may reduce the physiological burden of street sweepers in Denpasar city, Indonesia. This research is a pure experiment using a cross-design (two-period crossover design). The sample was 16 female street sweepers, divided into two groups: 8 as the control group and 8 treatment groups. Data analysis were performed using a paired t-test with significance level of 5%. The results showed significant difference (p <0.05) on the variables of workload, musculoskeletal complaints, and fatigue. In the first period, the mean of the street sweeper working heart rate was 118.96 ± 2.26 beats per minutes (bpm), the mean musculoskeletal complaint score was 91.63 ± 2.70 and the average fatigue was 77.69 ± 2.96. In Period II, the mean heart rate was 98.49 ± 2.22 bpm, the mean musculoskeletal complaint score was 63.56 ± 2.73 and the average fatigue was 57.56 ± 2.94. Redesigned stem brooms turned out to reduce workload, musculoskeletal complaints, and fatigue by 17.21%, 30.6%, and 25.91%, respectively. It can be concluded that the redesign of an ergonomic-based broomstick can reduce workload, musculoskeletal complaints, and fatigue.

Abstract

Sepeda motor merupakan salah satu jenis alat yang digunakan untuk membantu perpindahan manusia dari satu tempat ke tempat yang lain dalam waktu yang relatif lebih singkat dibanding alat transportasi darat lainnya. Namun, dalam penggunaannya terdapat beberapa aspek dari ergonomi yang harus diperhatikan agar keselamatan dan kenyamanan pengguna tetap terjaga. Aspek desain merupakan salah satu aspek yang berkaitan erat dengan kenyamanan pengendara. Dimensi dan desain yang tidak sesuai dengan dimensi tubuh pengendara pada saat duduk dapat menimbulkan kelelahan pada beberapa regio otot sehingga mengakibatkan kecelakaan lalu lintas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis masalah ergonomi yang dapat muncul terkait desain dan dimensi sepeda motor “X” berdasarkan antropometri tubuh pengendara. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analitik yang dilakukan pada warga Desa Totorejo yang memiliki dan menggunakan sepeda motor “X” dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Berdasarkan perhitungan didapatkan jumlah sampel yang digunakan adalah 5 orang. Responden yang dipilih merupakan pengendara sepeda motor yang telah menggunakan sepeda motor selama minimal 2 tahun dan mengalami keluhan nyeri punggung. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat ketidaksesuaian antara dimensi tempat duduk sepeda motor “X” dengan atropometri tubuh pengendara saat duduk.

Abstract

Motivasi merupakan sebuah dorongan untuk mencapai suatu keinginan dalam mencapai tujuan. Latar belakang masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana etos kerja karyawan Koperasi Danakita. Bagaimana peran manajer dalam meningkatkan motivasi kerja karyawan Koperasi Dana Kita. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja  karyawan Koperasi Danakita dan mengetahui peran manajer dalam meningkatkan motivasi kerja karyawan Koperasi Danakita di desa Apuan Kecamatan Baturiti, Kabupaten Tabanan. Ukuran meningkat dalam penelitian ini dilihat setelah adanya motivasi manajer kepada karyawan, sebelum adanya motivasi dari manajer proses kerja karyawan itu biasa-biasa saja tetapi, setelah adanya motivasi dari manajer maka proses kerja karyawan meningkat menjadi lebih baik. . Selain menjadi lembaga keuangan yang bertujuan untuk memberikan kredit dan jasa-jasa keuangan lainnya, peran koperasi sangatlah penting dalam menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan potensi ekonomi rakyat serta dalam mewujudkan kehidupan ekonomi yang demokratis, kekeluargaan dan keterbukaan. Oleh karena itu bangsa Indonesia dianggap telah melakukan pembangunan untuk mewujudkan pembangunan nasional, yaitu mewujudkan masyarakat yang adil dan makmur secara materiil dan spiritual berdasarkan Pancasila dan Undang-Undang Dasar 1945.
