Abstract

ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pendekatan SAVI terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam quasi eksperiment dengan desain penelitian Posttest Only Control Design. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan SAVI pada kelompok eksperimen dan pendekatan deduktif dengan metode diskusi, ceramah dan tanya jawab pada kelompok kontrol. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali tahun pelajaran 2011/2012.  Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cluster random sampling, sehingga diperoleh kelas X3 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan X8 sebagai kelompok kontrol.  Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, tes pilihan ganda, lembar observasi, dan dokumen sekolah. Uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan SAVI berpengaruh nyata terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Boyolali baik pada ranah kognitif, afektif maupun psikomotorik.   Kata Kunci : Pendekatan SAVI, Hasil Belajar Biologi

Abstract

ABSTRACT Problem Based learning is kind of model in learning helps students to find problem from a real situation or science have the character of theoretical. Students will be more active in the learning process and able to develope their thinking and problem solving skills. The aim of this study was to improve XI-IA2 student’s self directed learn in Biology. The instrument used were observation sheets, enquette, and interview. Abstract

Actinomycetes is one type of microorganism that has been widely used for the production of antibiotics as well as a biological control for pests and diseases in plants. In general, many Actinomycetes distributed in soil, water, tissues endophyte, and other natural environments. The study aimed to determine the distribution and diversity of Actinomycetes found in the root zone at Solanaceae plants and to know the isolates of Actinomycetes isolated from the root zone of plants Soalaneceae could inhibiting the growth of bacteria. Actinomycetes isolated from seven soil samples of Solanaceae plants rhizosphere in Selo Boyolali, Colomadu Karanganyar, Gondangrejo Karanganyar, and Wonogiri Jatipurno. The isolates of Actinomycetes tested the antibacterial activity by well diffusion method on media Glycerol-Yeast Extract against four species of pathogenic bacteria Ralstonia solanacearum, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli. Results showed that there were 54 isolates of Actinomycetes isolated from the soil samples of Solanaceae plants rhizosphere. Isolates could inhibit the growth of R. solanacearum (29%), S. aureus (24%), B. subtillis (14%), and E. coli (7%). Isolates had the ability to degrade carbohydrate and protein.

Abstract

Industrial progress and waste of urban domestic activities have an impact on the Pb heavy metal pollution on the environment, this will have an impact on human health. Pb metal can be overcome with biological methods by utilizing bacteria in reducing Pb metal. The study aimed to obtain the species  of resistant bacterial isolates of Pb metal and determine its characteristics. Sediment and water samples were obtained from the Tallo River. Isolation and selection of Pb metal resistant bacteria were carried out on nutrient agar media is 10 ppm added of PbAgNO3, afterwards the colonies that grew and differed were characterized by morphological morphology and several biochemical tests. The characterization results obtained 8 isolates of Pb metal resistant bacteria consisted of 8 isolates from sediment samples and 3 isolates from water samples. The characteristics of each bacterial isolate on cell morphology are the same and biochemical tests show different results.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of K2DAV and K3DAV animation media on learning motivation in terms of the academic abilities of students in class X MIPA SMA N 1 Sukoharjo. The focus of the biological material studied is the component material, interactions, and energy flow in the ecosystem. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a post-test-only non-equivalent group design. The population consists of 7 classes, and the sample is taken by simple random sampling of as many as three classes. Class X MIPA 1 is an experimental class with K2DAV media. Class X MIPA 3 as experimental class 2 with K3DAV media. Class X MIPA 6 as a control class. Data collection is done through documentation, questionnaires, and observations. The research instrument was a student learning motivation questionnaire and an observation sheet on implementing discovery learning syntax. The data analysis technique was carried out by testing prerequisites and testing hypotheses. The prerequisite test was carried out for normality, homogeneity, regression, and linearity. In contrast, the hypothesis test used the Anacova test. The study results explain that discovery learning combined with K2DAV and K3DAV media affects learning motivation in terms of academic ability, and academic ability affects learning motivation.

Abstract

This research aimed to ascertain the application of Problem Based Learn­ing model towards student’s creative thinking skill in Biology at student of X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.This research was a quasi experiment research. The research was designed using posttest only control group design using Problem Based Learning as model towards the experi­mental group, as compared to the conventional model. The conventional model was com­plemented with discussion, classical course and question-answer method. The population of this research was all of X degree students at SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012. The sample of this research was taken using cluster random sampling. The data was collected by using essays test, document and through observation. The stated hypotheses was tested using t-test.The conclusion of this research showed that the application of Problem Based Learning model has given significant effect towards student’s creative thinking skill in Biology at student of X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Surakarta in academic year 2011/2012.

Abstract

Foraminifera adalah salah satu bioindikator yang dapat digunakan untuk mengukur kesehatan terumbu karang yang didasarkan pada kumpulan spesiesnya di sedimen dasar lingkungan perairan terumbu karang yang kemudian dimasukkan ke dalam suatu perhitungan yang dinamakan FORAM (Foraminifera in Reef Assessment and Monitoring) Index. Indeks tersebut diterapkan di sekitar Pulau Podang-Podang Lompo dan Pulau Kapoposang yang merupakan bagian dari kepulauan spermonde di Sulawesi Selatan dimana pulau kapoposang merupakan salah satu daerah pariwisata perairan yang secara tidak langsung memberikan pengaruh terhadap ekosistem terumbu karang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan struktur komunitas foraminifera bentik dan kaitannya dengan kondisi perairan terumbu karang di Pulau Podang-Podang Lompo dan Pulau Kapoposang. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 8 stasiun penelitian untuk kedua pulau yang mewakili semua sisi pulau (Barat pulau, Timur pulau, Selatan pulau, dan Utara pulau) dengan variasi kedalaman dari 3-5 meter dan 8-10 meter. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan 2503 spesimen foraminifera bentonik di Pulau Podang-Podang Lompo dan 2408 spesimen di Pulau Kapoposang dengan keanekaragaman genus yang tergolong sedang untuk kedua pulau. Genus Amphistegina ditemukan sangat melimpah pada seluruh stasiun. Nilai Indeks FORAM (FI) kedua pulau lebih dari 4 untuk seluruh stasiun penelitian yang mengindikasikan bahwa perairan Pulau Podang-Podang Lompo dan Pulau Kapoposang berada dalam kondisi yang sangat baik dan kondusif untuk pertumbuhan serta pemulihan terumbu karang. Hasil ini sejalan dengan melimpahnya kehadiran kelompok foraminifera yang berasosiasi dengan terumbu karang pada perairan tersebut.
