Abstract

Kelabau fish is a type of freshwater fish that grows slowly even though it is fed adequate nutrition. The research was conducted to analyze the survival, total length growth, weight growth, and specific growth rate of kelabau fish fed with different ratios of lipid sources. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. The treatments were A (100% fish oil and 0% corn oil), B (75% fish oil and 25% corn oil), C (50% fish oil and 50% corn oil), D (25% fish oil and 75% corn oil), and E (0% fish oil and 100% corn oil). 20 kelabau fish 40 L-1 volume container were reared for 45 days with a semi-closed water circulation system. Feeding is done twice a day at satiation. The results showed that the ratio of different lipid sources had an effect on the total length growth of kelabau fry (P<0.05) but had no effect on the survival rate, absolute weight growth, or specific growth rate of kelabau fry (P > 0.05). Fish consuming diet C (50% fish oil and 50% corn oil) had the longest growth. Fish that consumed diet C also had relatively better survival rates and specific growth rates compared to groups of fish that consumed other feeds.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan tanaman untuk meningkatkan kualitas air yang ada di perairan dapat dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan tanaman air. Salah satu jenis tanaman yang dapat digunakan yaitu tanaman kiambang (Salvinia molesta). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan kualitas air pada kolam pasca tambang batu bara yang dimanfaankan untuk budidaya ikan. Metode penelitian yaitu dengan uji coba di laboratorium. Pemanfaatan tanaman kiambang untuk menyerap bahan-bahan yang terlarut di perairan sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas air. Penelitian di laboratorium dengan uji coba tanaman pada air kolam pasca tambang batubara yang dimanfaatkan untuk budidaya ikan. Percobaan dilaksanakan selama 7 (tujuh) hari, dengan melihat perubahan kualitas air pada akuarium yang digunakan sebagai media penelitian. Parameter yang dianalisis yaitu Oksigen terlarut, pH, NO2, NH3 dan H2S Hasil penelitian terjadi perubahan oksigen terlarut 3,86 mg/l menjadi 4,35 mg/l, pH 5,5 menjadi 8,1, NO2, 0,89 mg/l menjadi ttd; NH3, 1,99 mg/l menjadi 0,1 mg/l dan H2S; 2,3 mg/l menjadi 0,03 mg/l.

Abstract

Rumput laut merupakan salah satu jenis organisme budidaya yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan di Kota Bontang. Kapphapycus alvarezii merupakan spesies alga merah penghasil karagenan terbesar dari volume ekspor Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelayakan kualitas air di Perairan Tihik Tihik Kota Bontang berdasarkan aspek fisika dan kimia perairan. Metode penelitian berupa metode observasi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 21 April sampai dengan 17 Mei 2021. Lokasi pengambilan sample terbagi atas 5 titik Pengambilan sampel di tiap stasiun dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan kisaran kualitas air pada perairan tersebut adalah (1) suhu perairan berkisar 29,0-30,1oC; (2) derajat keasaman berkisar 7,5-8,6; (3) oksigen terlarut berkisar 3,65-4,0 ppm; (4) salinitas perairan berkisar 30,0-32,5 psu; (5) kecerahan berkisar 120,5-132,3 cm; (6) kecepatan arus berkisar 0,19-0,25 m/s; (7) kedalaman berkisar 9,10-13 m; (8) nitrat berkisar 0,04-0,05 mg/L; (9) Phosfat berkisar 0,06-0,13 mg/L; (10) total suspended solid berkisar 5-7 mg/L. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat diketahui bahwa perairan Tihik Tihik Kota Bontang layak digunakan sebagai lokasi budidaya rumput laut Kapphaphycus alvarezii.

Abstract

Usaha pembudidayaan ikan di kolam dan Keramba Jaring Apung jaring apung di Kecamatan Loa Kulu didominasi oleh budidaya ikan nila dan ikan mas, dan banyak dilakukan di sepanjang Sungai Mahakam yang mengalir melewati Kota Tenggarong dan Kota Samarinda. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengkaji strategi kebijakan pengembangan usaha keramba jaring apung ikan air tawar di Kecamatan Loa Kulu Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis SWOT yang didasarkan pada penelitian terhadap lingkungan internal dan eksternal, dengan menyusun matriks IFAS (Faktor Strategi Internal) dann Matriks Faktor Strategi Eksternal (EFAS). Metode penentuan responden digunakan purposive sampling yakni dengan cana mengambil sampel didasarkan kriteria tertentu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan strategi kebijakan pengembangan usaha Keramba Jaring Apung di Kecamatan Loa Kulu sebesar Rp.900.150.000,- nilai dampak ekonomi tidak langsung sebesar Rp.367.440.000,- Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan usaha budidaya ikan di Kecamatan Loa Kulu berada dalam kuadran agresif, yang berarti pengambil kebijakan berada pada posisi yang kuat untuk memanfaatkan kekuatan internal dan peluang eksternal, serta mampu mengatasi kelemahan dan ancaman yang ada. Strategi pengembangan yang diusulkan mencakup ekspansi, inovasi teknologi, peningkatan keterampilan, dan pemasaran yang efektif.

Abstract

Pectin is a dietary fiber that encourages the growth of lactic acid bacteria to increase the growth and digestibility of fish feed. Pectin from fruit skin has the potential as a feed additive for fish in an effort to increase production. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adding pectin from dragon fruit skin on the growth and feed utilization of eelfish. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and three replications. Treatments with feeding and adding pectin at doses of 0; 5; 10 and 15 g/kg of feed. Eelfish measuring 9-10 cm as many as 15 fish/tub were kept in a container with a water volume of 40 L for 30 days and fed according to the treatment twice a day ad satiation. The results showed that pectin from dragon fruit skin with different doses in the feed given to eelfish showed a significant effect on absolute weight growth and protein efficiency ratio. The results of this study also showed that pectin with a dose of 5 g/kg feed produced the best value for absolute weight growth with an average of 2.80 g, specific growth rate with an average of 0.97%, feed conversion ratio with a value of 1.01, and protein efficiency ratio with a value of 2.48.

Abstract

This research was conducted to analyze and determine the best dose of pectin addition from mandarin orange peel in feed on absolute weight growth (AWG), total length growth (TLG), specific growth rate (SGR), feed intake (FI), and feed utilization efficiency (FE). This study used an experimental method with a complete randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replicates. Each treatment was given a pectin dose of 0 (P0), 5 (P1), 10 (P2), and 15 g/kg feed (P3). Jelawat fish weighing 9-10 g were kept as many as 10 fish per container and fed at satiation with a frequency of 2 times a day for 30 days. Abstract

This study aims to analyze protein retention and fat retention in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) fed formulated feed with substitutions of fishmeal and earthworm meal (L. rubellus), as well as to determine the best substitution ratio between fishmeal and earthworm meal (L. rubellus) in formulated feed for protein retention and fat retention in common carp (Cyprinus carpio). The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of four treatments and three replications. The treatments in this study were differences in the doses of fishmeal and earthworm meal given to the carp at different doses, namely PA (100% fishmeal and 0% earthworm meal), PB (75% fishmeal and 25% earthworm meal), PC (50% fishmeal and 50% earthworm meal), and PD (25% fishmeal and 75% earthworm meal). The main parameters observed included protein retention, fat retention, and absolute biomass weight growth, while supporting parameters such as water quality were measured periodically.
