Abstract

KKN-PPM entitled "Community Empowerment Through Plant Nursery Business Towards Jada Bahrin Village As A Center For Plantation And Fruit Seedling Production In The Province Of Bangka Belitung Islands" aims to increase students' concern and empathy for the problems of weak economic communities, especially farmers around the Universitas Bangka Belitung Campus so that there are changes in the behavior of students, farmers and farm families that are intended to be developed by the KKN PPM program. In addition, KKN PPM aims to overcome the problem of farmers' low income through community empowerment by becoming seed producers, and compiling KKN-PPM work plans that can achieve the objectives of KKN-PPM implementation as mentioned in numbers 1 and 2 above and get funding partners to support the sustainability of the business of developing Jada Bahrin Village as a seed production center. The target outcomes of the KKN-PPM program are: 1) the establishment of Jada Bahrin Village as a seedling production center for plantation and fruit crops in Bangka Belitung Islands Province, 2) at least 50 farmers and farmer families can become seedling breeders who have the knowledge and skills of vegetative plant propagation, such as grafting, grafting, grafting, and grafting, 3) the production of superior seeds of pepper, rubber, white longan, and citrus from vegetative propagation that are ready to be marketed, 4) a number of cadres have been formed for the formation of seed breeder farmer groups, which will then spearhead the formation of groups, and 5) a synergistic partnership has been established between farmers, NGOs, universities, and SOEs in order to empower the community through KKN PPM. Efforts are made through training in plant propagation techniques, construction of facilities and infrastructure, and empowerment of seedling breeder farmer groups. In the first year of KKN PPM, training on plant propagation techniques will first be conducted for a number of farmers, from the construction of mother gardens to the seed/seedling certification process. In order for the strategy to develop a plant nursery center to be achieved and sustainable, cooperation with relevant partner institutions, namely the Yayasan Bergema Emas Penghijau Lingkungan, and the Merawang Agricultural Extension Agency (BPP), will be conducted. Activities consisted of student debriefing, vegetative plant propagation training for farmers, and managerial training to strengthen farmer groups. As a result of the KKN PPM activities, 17 farmers were categorized as skilled in vegetative plant propagation, two farmer groups were formed, and a group garden for plant propagation was successfully established. These three achievements are the first step for the next stage to make Jada Bahrin Village the center of fruit and plantation seedling production in Bangka Belitung Islands Province.

Abstract

Penerapan Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) dan Good Handling Practices (GHP) dalam produksi komoditas pertanian merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk meningkatkan daya saing produk pertanian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan GAP dan GHP lada, mutu lada petani, dan mengetahui hubungan GAP dan GHP dengan mutu lada putih di Kabupaten Bangka. Penelitian dilakukan pada Februari – Juni 2021. Metode yang digunakan adalah melakukan survei terhadap 30 petani dan pengujian mutu lada petani di Laboratorium. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear berganda dan korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan GAP oleh petani untuk variabel pembibitan, pemeliharaan dan pemanenan baik, variabel pengendalian hama dan penyakit buruk. GHP yang diterapkan oleh petani pada tiap variabel telah dilakukan dengan baik. Mutu lada putih di Kabupaten Bangka termasuk rendah karena lada petani belum memenuhi SNI sebanyak 83.3%, lada dengan mutu II sebanyak 16.67% dan tidak terdapat lada petani yang memenuhi mutu I. Persamaan regresi pada GAP menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pemanenan memberikan pengaruh paling besar terhadap mutu lada dan nilai korelasi sebesar +0.563 yaitu korelasi sedang. Persamaan regresi pada GHP menunjukkan kegiatan panen dan penanganan buah lada memberikan pengaruh paling besar pada mutu lada dengan nilai korelasi sebesar +0.325 yaitu korelasi lemah. Kegiatan GAP mempunyai pengaruh lebih besar dibandingkan GHP terhadap mutu lada.

Abstract

Budidaya tanaman menggunakan teknologi hidroponik semakin berkembang seiring dengan menurunnya luas lahan pertanian setiap tahun karena banyak dialihfungsikan. Kekurangan budidaya secara hidroponik yaitu harga nutrisi yang relatif mahal dan penggunaan bahan kimia pada larutan nutrisi. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan pemanfaatan limbah bulu ayam menjadi pupuk organik cair sebagai pengganti nutrisi anorganik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian berbagai konsentrasi pupuk organik cair limbah bulu ayam terhadap status hara nitrogen (N) dan pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy pada hidroponik sistem sumbu. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada November 2019 sampai April 2020 di Kebun Percobaan dan Penelitian fakultas Pertanian, Perikanan, dan Biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 kali ulangan dan 4 taraf perlakuan yaitu K0 (AB Mix 100%), K1 (POC 90%), K2 (POC 70%), dan K3 (POC 50%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi Pupuk Organik Cair bulu ayam, jumlah Ntotal dalam jaringan tanaman semakin meningkat. Pemberian pupuk organik cair memberikan pengaruh pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy. Perlakuan konsentrasi POC 50% menghasilkan pertumbuhan tanaman pakcoy yang terbaik namun lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan AB Mix.

Abstract

Fertility and continuity of results are needed in pepper cultivation, so the right compatibility of nutrients is needed. Micronutrient observations are often not carried out regularly and tend to lag behind macronutrients, even though they are equally essential. Symptoms will be visible visually on the leaves and it is important to know that identifying nutrient symptoms is important. The leaf samples were represented by 20 old leaves and 20 young leaves which were observed visually by comparing them based on the nutrient symptom table, then the micronutrients of the young leaf tissue were analyzed. Based on the visuals of the leaves, symptoms of micronutrients were found dominantly found in young leaves. The diagnosis results based on visual symptoms were that pepper plants with the criteria for healthy growth still found symptoms of Fe deficiency in the form of yellowing in young leaves and also in old leaves, symptoms of Zn toxicity in the form of chlorosis between the leaves. young and Kahat B which shows that there are several young leaves which are also darker in color than normal young leaves. Based on analysis of the micro nutrient content found in young leaf tissue, the content of Cu, available Fe, Mn, Zn, B, Mo is below 100 ppm (100 mg/Kg), this figure shows that it is still in the low category.

Abstract

Cultivation of plants using hydroponic technology is growing along with the decreasing area of ​​agricultural land every year because it is being converted a lot. Disadvantages of hydroponic cultivation are the relatively expensive price of nutrients and the use of chemicals in nutrient solutions. Efforts that can be made are by utilizing waste chicken feathers to become liquid organic fertilizer as a substitute for inorganic nutrients. This study aims to determine the effect of giving various concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer from chicken feather waste on nitrogen (N) nutrient status, growth and yield of pakcoy plants with hydroponic wick systems. This research was conducted from November 2019 to April 2020 at the Experimental and Research Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Biology. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 replications and 4 treatment levels of K0 (100% AB Mix), K1 (90% liquid fertilizer), K2 (70% liquid fertilizer), and K3 (50% liquid fertilizer). The results showed that the higher the concentration of chicken feather Liquid Organic Fertilizer, the amount of Ntotal in plant tissue increased. The application of liquid organic fertilizer has an effect on the growth of pakcoy plants. The application of liquid organic fertilizer has an effect on the growth of pakcoy plants. Treatment of 50% liquid fertilizer concentration resulted the best growth of pakcoy plants however lower than AB Mix nutrition.

Abstract

Sahabat Farm adalah kelompok swadaya masyarakat (KSM) sebagai pengelola rumah maggot. Namun pengelolaan pakan maggot yang berkualitas dengan biaya terjangkau masih menjadi kendala dalam pengembangan budidaya maggot seperti yang dialami Sahabat Farm Bangka Belitung. KSM mengolah bahan pakan maggot dari limbah kulit jeruk secara manual membutuhkan waktu 60 menit untuk 30 kg limbah kulit jeruk. Kebutuhan pakan maggot 120 kg/hari tidak efektif jika dilakukan pembuburan kulit secara manual. Berdasarkan diskusi langsung dengan KSM Sahabat Farm, mereka membutuhkan mesin yang dapat mencacah kulit jeruk menjadi halus (pembuburan) sebagai pakan maggot. KSM Sahabat Farm mampu menghasilkan 60 kg per hari maggot dengan total 1,8 ton per bulan. 1 kg maggot membutuhkan 2 kg limbah organik. Sehingga, untuk memberi makan 60 kg maggot dibutuhkan 120 kg limbah organik perharinya. Tim pengabdian akan membuat mesin pembubur kulit jeruk dengan kapasitas mencapai 170 kg/jam. Maggot digunakan mitra sebagai pakan ikan, pakan unggas, dan dijual ke konsumen mendapatkan benefit yang menopang ekonomi keluarga. Melalui proposal pengabdian ini, tim pengabdian akan membuat dan menyerahkan mesin pembubur kulit jeruk ke mitra dan melakukan pendampingan penggunaan mesin. dengan mesin tersebut, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktiftivas mitra dalam memproduksi maggot

Abstract

Tailing post-tin mining land has a sandy textured and loose structure. Those physical properties can affect the efficiency of fertilization and cause inefficiency of nutrient absorption in plants. That issue can be corrected by the application of organic material such as cow manure compost which has the potential for plant cultivation, especially for “porang” (Amorphaphillus oncophyllus Prain). This study aimed to examine the cultivation of porang plants in post-tin mining tailings by applying cow manure compost and to determine the best dose of cow manure compost for porang cultivation in artificial ex-tin mining land. This study used a single-group randomized design method with the treatment factor being the dose of cow manure compost consisting of five dose levels (5 t ha-1, 10 t ha-1, 15 t ha-1, 20 t ha-1, and 25 t ha-1). Each treatment level was replicated with five replications, and each replication consisted of five populations so the total population was 125 plants. The results showed that the application of various doses of cow manure compost to artificial post-tin mining land affected the growth and yield of porang plants. The treatment of cow manure compost at a dose of 25 t ha-1 gave the best growth and yield of porang plants. Heavy metal (Pb) analysis on porang tubers showed that all doses of cow manure compost had a Pb content value of <0.059%, which means that cow manure compost can reduce heavy metal uptake in porang tubers. Porang planted in artificial post-tin mining land is safe for consumption because lead (Pb) content was below the threshold of Indonesia National Standard (SNI) for food.

Abstract

This study aimed to isolate and identify Phosphate-solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) from the rhizosphere of spinach, water spinach, and lamtoro grown on post-tin mining land in Padang Baru Village, Central Bangka Regency. Soil samples were collected from the rhizosphere and serially diluted before being cultured on Pikovskaya agar to isolate PSB, which were then characterized morphologically, physiologically, and biochemically. Biochemical tests included Gram staining, catalase, motility, methyl red (MR), and Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA) tests, while phosphate solubilization activity was quantified using the Phosphate Solubilization Index (PSI). A total of seven isolates were successfully obtained and showed diverse colony morphologies, indicating adaptation to extreme post-mining conditions. The isolates were identified as belonging to the genera Pseudomonas, Rhodococcus, and Acinetobacter, known for solubilizing phosphate via organic acids and exopolysaccharides (EPS). Although the PSI values were in the moderate range, the high colony abundance demonstrated strong viability and ecological competitiveness. These research suggest that PSB from degraded post-mining soils may serve as potential biofertilizers to enhance phosphorus availability and support ecological rehabilitation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk kelimpahan fungi di rizosfer tanaman kangkung, bayam, dan petai cina yang ditanam di lahan pasca tambang timah, dan jenis fungi pelarut fosfat yang tumbuh di rizosfer tanaman kangkung, bayam, dan petai cina yang ditanam di lahan pasca tambang timah di Desa Padang Baru, Kabupaten Bangka Tengah. Penelitian ini diperoleh sebanyak tujuh sampel isolat yang menunjukkan beberapa parameter koloni fungi yang harus diidenteifikasi. Hasil identifikasi dan karakterissi berdasarkan dari morfologi secara makroskopis, dan mikroskopis, sehingga pengamatan makroskopis juga dapat melihat pigmentasi warna atas, dan warna bawah, elevasi, tepi koloni, dan permukaan. Pengamatan mikroskopis juga dapat meilihat hifa, konidiofor, dan hialid. Ditemukannya hasil beberapa jenis fungi pelarut fosfat yaitu Penicillium, Trichoderma, Fusarium, dan Aspergillus. Pada ketiga jenis ini yang berperan penting dalan melarutkan fosfat yang paling tinggi adalah Aspergillus sp.

Abstract

Inonu, et.al. Use of Composted Chicken Feathers for Lettuce Cultivation in Sand Tailings of ex Tin-Mining Site. JLSO 5(2):145-152.Chicken feathers is a solid waste which can be composted for sand tailings of ex tin-mining site ameliorating. The objective of this research was to analysis the  different doses of composted chicken feathers to obtain the proper dosage for growth and production of lettuce grown on sand tailings of ex tin-mining site. This research used experimental method with Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD). The treatment factor were doses of composted chicken feathers with five levels (5.0; 7.5; 10; 12.5; 15 tons/ha of chicken feathers) and 20 tons/ha of chicken manure as a control. The results showed  growth and production of lettuce were treated with 20 tons / ha of chicken manure is higher than all treatment of doses of composted chicken feathers. Sand tailings of ex tin-mining site which is treated 12.55 tons/ha composted chicken feathers produced the highest growth and production of lettuce.
