Abstract

Indonesia's Sharia economy has grown rapidly in recent years, attracting the attention of investors both domestically and internationally. In 2019, the Indonesian government launched the Sharia Economic Masterplan 2019-2024 to strengthen the Islamic economic ecosystem and position Indonesia as the world's leading Islamic economic center. This study aims to analyze the role of each Islamic economic stakeholder in the 2019-2024 Indonesian Islamic Economics Masterplan using the Pentahelix concept analysis. The results show that the government plays a crucial role as a regulator in formulating policies and regulations that support Islamic economic development. Through research and public consultation, academics contribute relevant concepts and innovations to the development of the Islamic economy. Islamic business people and financial institutions, such as Islamic banking, Islamic capital markets, and MSMEs, play an essential role as drivers of the halal industry. The Islamic economic community acts as an accelerator in strengthening the halal industry in various sectors. Meanwhile, as a multiplier, the media plays an essential role in maximising the fulfillment of the halal market share by promoting and educating the public about the available halal products and services. It is hoped that the synergy between stakeholders can achieve inclusive, sustainable sharia economic growth and encourage the progress of the halal industry in Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction: Islam urges every Muslim to work and comply with all Islamic principles. The Centre of Statistical Data (BPS) of Sukohajo noted that 94.8% of Sukoharjo’s population is Muslim. This indicates that Sukoharjo has great economic potential, especially in the field of halal lifestyle. This paper conducted a study with the aim to analyse the application of Islamic business ethics to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sukoharjo. Research Methods: This research employs a qualitative analysis with a descriptive analysis method. Primary data were obtained through interviews and documentation with 28 MSMEs in Sukoharjo as the research sample. The data is then analysed by data reduction, data display, and data verification. Results: The result shows that the majority of MSMEs in Sukoharjo Regency have implemented Islamic business ethics such as honesty, fairness, greetings, trust, and selling halal products. However, religious activities for employees lack the practices. There are several internal and external factors shaping the implementation of Islamic business ethics of MSMEs in Sukoharjo, namely internal factors (beliefs) and external factors (science, family, social environment, experience, and type of business). Conclusion: The study humbly urges the Indonesian Ulema Council to incorporate Islamic business ethics in their teachings, shaping a better understanding of society and leading the optimisation of the application.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the determinants of factors that influence the profitability of digital banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) during the 2018–2023 period. The independent variables tested include Non-Performing Loans (NPL), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), and Operational Costs to Operating Income (BOPO), with Return on Assets (ROA) as the dependent variable. The method used is quantitative with panel data regression using Eviews 10 software. The research sample consists of six digital banks that meet the criteria, with a total of 30 observations. The research results show that NPL has a positive but not significant effect on ROA, CAR has a positive and significant effect on ROA, while BOPO has a significant negative effect on ROA. These findings indicate that operational efficiency and capital adequacy are key factors in increasing digital bank profitability. Therefore, digital banks need to improve operational efficiency and maintain a strong capital position to maintain optimal financial performance.

Abstract

The development of Islamic pawnbroking (Ar-Rahnu) as a short-term financing mechanism presents a promising solution for poverty alleviation by supporting small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. This study aims to visualize the progress and research trends in Islamic pawnbroking using bibliometric analysis. Data were collected from the Scopus database, where an initial search conducted on September 16, 2022, retrieved 168 documents, later refined to 101 articles based on inclusion criteria. The dataset was analyzed using VOSviewer to generate visualizations of keyword co-occurrence, author collaboration, citation patterns, and thematic clusters. Findings show a steady increase in scholarly output from 1913 to 2022, with significant growth post-2010. However, the field faces persistent challenges such as low public awareness, preference for conventional pawnshops, and unregulated financial practices. The study suggests strategic improvements for Islamic pawnbroking, including product diversification, targeted marketing, and public re-education to broaden its appeal beyond low-income users. The bibliometric mapping also identifies potential research directions, particularly in microenterprise financing and socio-economic empowerment through Islamic financial services.======================================================================================================== ABSTRAK - Pegadaian Syariah dalam Wacana Akademik: Tren, Kesenjangan, dan Arah Penelitian ke Depan.

Abstract

MSMEs play a pivotal role in the community and sustainability of the Indonesian economy. This study explores and analyzes the developments and survival strategies of MSME actors in the Pacitan Regency. This study employs a qualitative method by taking data from interviews with 15 MSME actors in the Pacitan Regency. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MSME players in Pacitan Regency have experienced decreased sales and a lack of capital. The responses of MSME players in Pacitan Regency are decreasing sales turnover and increasing selling prices. One of the strategies MSME players in Pacitan Regency carry out to deal with COVID-19 is to sell online, reduce trade stock, make selling promos, and collaborate with other MSMEs. It is hoped that with this research, the government can pay attention to the good input these MSME actors give. In addition, MSME players are expected to be consistent with the strategy carried out by following government policies to continue to comply with health protocols in selling.
