Abstract

Masyarakat Jawa Fajar Agung merupakan pekerja perkebunan yang sangat akrab dengan leksikon-leksikon kegulmaan. Keakraban ini dapat terlihat dari penggunaan leksikon yang masih bertahan sampai saat ini. Hal ini merupakan salah satu cara dalam pencegahan punahnya istilah Jawa dalam bentuk leksikon kegulmaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat pemahaman masyarakat Jawa terhadap leksikon kegulmaan di Perkebunan Fajar Agung, serta menjelaskan faktor yang memengaruhi tingkat pemahaman masyarakat Jawa terhadap leksikon kegulmaan di Perkebunan Fajar Agung. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang didukung berupa perhitungan hasil respondensi secara kuantitatif. Data leksikon kegulmaan diperoleh melalui angket. Angket berisi data daftar leksikon kegulmaan yang sebelumnya diperoleh melalui wawancara kepada informan kunci. Adapun hasil penelitian ini, yaitu Leksikon kegulmaan pada masyarakat Jawa di Perkebunan Fajar Agung berjumlah 75 buah. Berdasarkan pada pembahasan pertama tingkat pemahaman T (tahu) kelompok usia I (25-45 Tahun) yaitu 83,53% dan kelompok usia II (46-60 Tahun) yaitu 83,15% sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa masyarakat Jawa di Perkebunan Fajar Agung masih mengenal dan menggunakan leksikon-leksikon kegulmaan dalam bahasa Jawa. Berdasarkan pembahasan kedua, terdapat dua faktor kebertahanan yang memengaruhi tingkat pemahaman leksikon kegulmaan pada MJFA, yaitu yaitu faktor yang berkaitan dengan linguistik dan non-linguistik. Faktor linguistik yang memengaruhi kebertahanan leksikon kegulmaan pada MJFA, yaitu berhubungan dengan tendensi MJFA terhadap bahasa Jawa. Kemudian faktor non-linguistik, yaitu perilaku konservatif MJFA terhadap gulma, adaptasi fisiologi gulma terhadap herbisida, konsistensi penggunaan peralatan tradisional pengendalian dan pemberantasan gulma, kesejahteraan MJFA, pendidikan MJFA.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh merupakan proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan secara daring/ online oleh pihak sekolah- sekolah baik di Indonesia maupun di negara- negara yang masih terkena dampak pandemic Covid-19. Pandemic ini memaksa kalangan dunia pendidikan untuk tidak menyelenggarakan proses belajar tatap muka dikelas-kelas. Hal ini mengakibatkan proses pembelajaran menjadi tidak efektif terlebih lagi masih banyak guru atau tenaga pendidik yang tidak memanfaatkan teknologi untuk mendukung pembelajaran jarak jauh ini. Sedangkan, tersedia begitu banyak aplikasi yang dapat digunakan untuk itu. Diantaranya adalah aplikasi Google Classroom dan Google Meet. Kedua aplikasi ini belum digunakan secara efektif oleh tenaga pendidik dikarenakan keterbatasan pengetahuan dalam penggunaannya yang masih dianggap sulit.Melalui pelatihan yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 3 Juli 2021 ini di SDIT Alif, para tenaga pendidik diperkenalkan dan dilatih secara detail bagaimana memanfaatkan aplikasi Google Classroom dalam memberikan tugas dan penilaian kepada para siswa dan juga menggunakan Google Meet secara efektif dalam menyampaikan materi ajar. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan ini, para tenaga pendidik memiliki pengetahuan lebih baik dan lebih detail lagi mengenai penggunaan aplikasi Google Classroom dan Google meet ini sehingga langsung dapat menerapkan penggunaan kedua aplikasi ini dalam proses belajar mengajar jarak jauh dalam masa pandemic Covid- 19 ini.

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence technology has made a significant contribution in various fields, including linguistics. One of the latest developments is the use of a GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) based language model in chatbot applications. This journal article conducts a literature review on the use of GPT Chat for the development of linguistics. Through analysis of the literature, this article describes how the application of GPT Chat in language applications contributes to human language understanding, language analysis, and the development of linguistics as a whole.

Abstract

This research aimed to improve the students’ speaking skill by using the sequence pictures. Classroom action research constituted the method used in this research which was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang, Asahan. The research data was obtained by conducting the research for the tenth grade students of SMK Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang which consists of 25 students. The data was analyzed as quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative result showed that there were 76% students who had better English for speaking after using the sequence pictures as the learning media in learning English. Meanwhile, the students’ motivation and interest for learning English was increasing. It was as the qualitative data. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of sequence pictures as the media learning in English subject was effective to increase the students’ speaking skill for the tenth grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sei Kepayang, Asahan. It is suggested for the English teacher to use this media to improve the students’ speaking skill for English subject.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai makna kekecewaan pada lirik lagu “Dumes” karya Andry Priyandra dengan menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Dalam analisis semiotika Roland Barthes ini mengkaji mengenai makna denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos mengenai makna “Kekecewaan” yang terdapat pada lirik lagu tersebut. Metode yang digunakan ialah kualitatif interpretatif. Teknik pengumpulan yaitu studi dokumen dengan pemerolehan data dari berbagai sumber yang relevan dengan penelitian. Hasil kajian semiotika Roland Barthes pada lirik lagu “Dumes” karya Andry Priyandra adalah sebagai berikut. Makna denotasi dari lirik lagu “Dumes” adalah Lagu ini menceritakan tentang pengalaman seseorang yang merasakan kesepian dan kekecewaan dalam cinta yang tidak berbalas. Kemudian makna konotasi yang terkandung dalam lirik lagu ini yaitu mengkomunikasikan pesan tentang kerapuhan cinta dan hubungan manusia, menggambarkan bagaimana harapan dan realitas sering kali bertentangan, menghasilkan rasa sakit dan kekecewaan yang mendalam. Sedangkan mitos yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu ini yaitu menguatkan mitos-mitos budaya tentang cinta yang penuh dengan kekecewaan dan rasa sakit, mempromosikan pandangan bahwa penderitaan dalam cinta adalah bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari pengalaman manusia dan bahwa hubungan romantis sering kali membawa lebih banyak kesedihan daripada kebahagiaan.

Abstract

Tourism problems must be resolved quickly because every problem that exists will make the name of the tourist spot a negative value in the eyes of other tourists who want to visit, the tours visited at least provide comfort for visitors so that this positive value will have an impact on the decision to revisit or spread positive information to potential new tourists in the tourist environment itself. This research approach is quantitative with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) model. This approach is able to test the most ideal model in estimating endogenous variables. This research was conducted in the North Sumatra region, precisely at the Lake Toba tourist location and the research target was Lake Toba tourism visitors who came from outside the Tobasa Regency area, the population of Lake Toba tourists who had visited at least 250 people twice, the analysis model used to test the hypothesis in this study was multiple regression analysis using the Smart PLS application. Directly Perceived Value, Aspect-Based Sentiment and Tourist Experience have a Significant Effect on the Problems of Lake Toba Tourism Destination Development, Directly Aspect-Based Sentiment and Tourist Experience have a Significant Effect on Perceived Value of Lake Toba Tourism, Indirectly Aspect-Based Sentiment and Tourist Experience have a Significant Effect on the Problems of Lake Toba Tourism Destination Development through Perceived Value.

Abstract

Having tourist attractions in one area will benefit the area in terms of business transaction turnover, where visitors from outside the area will come to places where tourism can attract foreign residents. The presence of foreign residents entering the area will certainly help the regional economy, especially in tourism management areas. The research analysis method used in this research is linear regression with a moderating model. There are three ways to test regression with moderating variables, namely the interaction test, absolute difference test and residual test. The population in this study is tourist visitors who come from outside the Karo district with age criteria of 20 to 50 years with a research sample of 185 people, social media is able to moderate the significant influence of the government's tourism strategy on tourism progress, the government's tourism strategy directly has a significant influence on the progress of regional tourism, social media is able to moderate the significant influence of the role of local youth on the progress of regional tourism, the role of local youth directly has a significant influence on progress regional tourism, social media directly has a significant influence on the progress of tourism in the Sidebuk-Debuk region of Karo Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of speech acts used in the everyday communication of students from the Accounting Department at Politeknik Unggul LP3M. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, utilizing documentation and participatory observation techniques on students' oral and written communication practices. The data, consisting of 80 utterances, were classified according to Searle’s five types of speech acts: representative, directive, expressive, commissive, and declarative. The results indicate that directive and representative speech acts are the most dominant, reflecting the function of communication as a means of sharing information and requesting assistance in academic settings. This study recommends strengthening students' pragmatic competence to enhance the effectiveness of academic and social communication.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance soft skills in customer service for students of SMK Perkantoran (Office Vocational School) PAB 3 Medan Estate. Soft skills are as important as skills in communication skills, empathy, service ethics, and emotional management are essential competencies for prospective administrative office workers. There are interactive workshops, group discussions, and customer service simulations as part of this community service activity. In this event, it can be found that participants demonstrated improved understanding and practical skills in customer interactions. This activity is expected to positively contribute to the students' readiness to enter the workforce
