Abstract

Often illegal racing activities are considered as meaningless activities and cause negative impacts by the wider community, but this actually creates a positive side for the perpetrators. This study aims to see how toxic masculinity behaves and what are the benefits to the wild racing community. The method used is a qualitative research method with a case study approach, with analysis using coding techniques. The subject of this study used 4 participants, namely the four participants were perpetrators of illegal racing in the Krian area and supported by 4 participants as significant others. Based on the results of the analysis of the four participants, it shows that the behavior of toxic masculinity arises due to the masculine factors possessed by the perpetrators. Toxic masculinity behavior is indicated by the presence of self-esteem, self-actualization, and affiliation. Self-esteem is shown because participants feel they have courage and feel disapproving when they are insulted by others. Self-actualization is indicated by the emergence of potentials that arise when participants take part in wild racing. Affiliates appear with behavior that supports each other, becomes a support system, and motivates each other. These three behaviors arise because they are influenced by self, family, social and economic factors.

The measuring instrument used for data collection uses an attachment style scale adapted from Nabila's research (2018), a love scale adapted from Hidayatullah's research (2018) and a self-confidence scale adapted from Anggia's research (2020). Data analysis using Pearson product moment correlation using SPSS 21 for windows program. The results of the analysis showed a correlation score of r = 0.482 with a significance of 0.000 (p<0.05) between attachment style and self-confidence, which means the first hypothesis is accepted. Thus, there is a significant positive relationship between attachment style and self-confidence. The results of data analysis showed a correlation score of r = 0.645 with a significance of 0.000 (p<0.05) between love and self-confidence, which means that the second hypothesis is accepted. Abstract

This study aims to see how successful aromatherapy is at improving short-term memory in students at the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Participants in the study were 20 participants who were students with short-term memory impairments and had low scores in short-term memory with under 50. A one-group pretest and posttest experimental design was used in this investigation. The non-parametric Wilcoxon statistical test was employed in data analysis to assess the comparison between pretest and posttest scores in determining the intervention's outcome. The intervention improved short-term memory in 20 of the subjects, with short-term memory scores that were above average. The data analysis yielded a Z = - 2.652 value with a significance of p = 0.709 (p = < 0.05). This indicates a difference in participants' short-term memory before and after the intervention. This suggests that people can effectively improve their short-term memory.
